Portland Trails Grant
For the third year in a rowBrown has been awarded agrant from
Portland Trailsfor school ground greening.This year the goal is to
im-plement the first phase ofthe School Yard Master
Plan. Possibilities for thisyears grant money include
implementing an evergreenbuffer along Broadway, put-ting
together an outdoorclassroom cart with sup-plies, and installing
bird &butterfly gardens outsidethe kindergarten class-rooms. In
the past thegrant money has been used
for developing a schoolground greening masterplan, building a
sand box &pergola with an outdooreating area, creating
raisedvegetable gardens, and in-stalling literature-themedgardens
in front of theschool. We are always look-ing for new members to
getinvolved and help transform
the school yard into a moregreen environment. If youdlike to be
a member of ourgreening team, please con-tact the PTA for more
in-formation.
Mid-Winter vacation is next week
Please take all items in lockers home anddont forget to check
lost and found. All
items left in Lost and Found will be do-nated over the
break!
PTA MeetingPlease join us this Thurs-day evening from 6:30pm
until 8:00pm
for our monthly Parent Teacher Associa-tion meeting. Meetings
are held in theArt Room and child care is provided for
Valentines Pancake Breakfast was a
huge success !!!
Thank you to everyone who came Satur-day morning and enjoyed
breakfastserved by our great teachers and took achance on our
incredible raffle baskets!
