2014
Overarching Goals for Middle School Initiative
For students to feel more at ease with speaking in front of others
For students to discuss current events issues and controversies in a respectful yet lively manner
For students to present organized informal and formal speeches in front of an audience
For students to make clear arguments that include claims, data, warrants, and impacts
For students to challenge themselves and others in a competitive environment
For students to have fun!

Unit 3: Speech Types/Purposes and organization
Presentation: Impromptu
