JAKE, AMY, CHARLES, and TERRY are standing behind a one waywindow, staring at a group of mean looking PERPS in a lineup. An OLD WOMEN is looking at them closely as well.

JAKEDo any of these men look like theone who stole your purse mam?

JAKESeriously? That was easy.

AMYYeah, a line up has never gone thatwell before.

JAKE(into the SPEAKER)

The entire room erupts in simeltanous groans ofdisappointment.

The Perps look at the window, confused. Amy laughs andlooks around at her fellow detectives. They stare at herlike an idiot.

CUT TO: The Perps are now eating some exquisiteFOOD. Charles speaks into the speaker.

Four of the Perps step forward and only one steps back.

CUT TO: GINA arrives and talks into the speaker.

CUT TO: Terry is on the other side of the glass with thePerps. Terry is ARM WRESLTING against two of them. Terry iswinning.

He throws their arms down of the table so hard he nearlybreaks the table.

Terry taunts the perps. The other detectives give Terry around of applause.

Jake RIPS up the newspaper into tiny little pieces andTHROWS it up in the air before slumping back into his seat.

The pieces of newspaper fall like celebration confetti,landing all over Holt.

HOLT(brusing trash off)

May I ask why this is so importantto you Peralta?

JAKENow no one is gonna know that JakePeralta is the one who took downall those criminals and solved thishuge case.

AMYSo what? Shouldnt making thestreets safer for the city beenough?

Amy immediatley stands up and stands side by side with Holt.

Jake is talking with a CIVILIAN on the front steps of hishome. On the street, there are COPS putting some CRIMINALSin the back of a PADDY WAGON.

JAKEIt might have taken almost 18 hoursof non stop work, tracking downalmost nonexistent leads, 3 brokenribs and a near death experience,but I caught the guys who robbedyour home and brought all yourbelongings back to you.

The Civilian slams the door right in Jakes face.

Jake turns to face the rest of his peers.

JAKEDeep down, every cop wants somerecognition and reward for theirhard work. Its the reason peoplebecome cops.

TERRYI became a cop to make the city asafe place for my daughters to growup.

ROSAI became a cop so I could legallyhurt people with various weapons.

AMYI became a cop to carry on theproud legacy of my family name inthe NYPD.

Jake is sitting at a desk. Across the desk sits a TELLER.

Jake does a 180 and walks back into the bank. He enters thebank to see the two Men who he held the door for ROBBING THEBANK. Everyone is on the ground and the Tellers have theirhands up.

They stop right in front of Jake holding BAGS OF MONEY.

JAKE (contd)What the hell? I hold the door openfor you guys and you go and dothis? Not cool.

JAKEOk, Counter offer.

(pulls out BADGE and GUN)NYPD. Youre under arrest.

The two Men drop the bags of money and put their hands inthe air.

INT. HOLTS OFFICE - LATER

Jake stands in front of Holt at his desk.

HOLTWell done, Peralta. The force isvery impressed by your actionstoday.

JAKEMy pleasure Captain. Ive had"Stop a bank robbery" on mydetective bucket list for a whilenow.

Jake shows Holt a PIECE OF PAPER with a long, list on it.

JAKEIts right here in between "Seduce ahot, female secret agent" and "MeetLiam Neeson". That one has nothingto do with being a detective, Imjust a big fan.

HOLTJoin the club. Anyway, todaysevents certainly havent goneunnoticed. The commissioner wantsyou to address the media about it.

Jake is standing in front of a HORDE OF REPORTERS who areshoving their microphones in front of his face. They shoveeach other trying to get a better position like a mosh pit.

Behind the reporters is a GROUP OF CITIZENS who are cheeringand lauding over Jake and his heroic actions. He just takesit all in.

EXT. CITY HALL - THE NEXT DAY

Jake, dressed to the nines in his full uniform, stands nextto DEPUTY COMMISSIONER PODOLSKI and Holt. Podolski isbehind a podium, adressing a large CROWD, from reporters tocitizens.

PODOLSKIThe NYPD is extremely proud of theheroism displayed by the 99thprecincts Detective Peralta. Heis a valuable member of our forceand...

(swallowing pride)We could use more people like himin this great city.

This is greated by a round of applause. Podolski leans backover to Jake.

PODOLSKI (contd)(to Jake)

I just threw up in my mouth.JAKE

And I couldnt be happier.

PODOLSKI(to crowd)

It is my pleasure to awardDetective Peralta with theCommendation on Integrity, for hisbravery in this highly credible,yet unusual accomplishment

Podolski presents the MEDAL, decorated with a bar with agreen stipe and a blue stripe on the ends and a blue star inthe middle, and pins it on Jake as the crowd gives anotherround of applause.

Jake and Holt return to the Precinct after theceremony. Jake proudly walks in, wearing his shiny newmedal.

CHARLESI sure dont. Way to go Jake!

Jake and Charles hi-five. Amy rolls her eyes.

AMYYou would let this go way to yourhead. You know that medal isntthat big of a deal right?

Holt sits at his desk. Amy enters.

AMYHey Captain, do you have a second?

Holt and Amy enter the conference room. Amy walks over to aWHITEBOARD and FLIPS it over, revealing a large COLLAGEfilled with PICTURES, NOTES, and MAPS with PIECES OF YARN ofdifferent colors connecting them all.

HOLTI see youve been keeping yourselfbusy.

AMYThis is my research on how we canstop all crime in New York cityforever.

HOLTAnd how long have you been workingon this?

AMYSince I became a detective, and alittle bit before that as well. Iknow it seems a bit confusing sosit down while I explain. It mighttake a while.

Holt sits down, his mouth is still open.

AMYOk, so the green strings representthe mobs in the city and if theyhave a gold star on them, thatmeans there is a sixty-threepercent chance that they know whereJimmy Hoffas body is.

The Bouncer SHAKES Charles hand. He looks in his hand andfinds a GIFT CARD.

The Bouncer throws the gift card away.

Charles goes back to Terry and Gina.

Members of the 99 get changed in the locker room.

Gina approaches the Bouncer.

Gina KICKS the Bouncer in the shin and RUNS right by him.But she is escorted right back outside by two otherBouncers.

Gina, Terry and Charles walk away from the entrance as theBouncer rubs his shin.

EXT. STREET - NIGHT

Amy and Rosa hold a stake out on a very shady street. Theysit in a parked car.

ROSAThanks again for helping me out onthis one. Jake and I have beenworking this case for months, andthe second we get a hot lead hegoes out to let everyone kiss hisass.

Two suspcious looking MEN turn around the corner and post upat the corner. A car DRIVES up and parks in front of them.

ROSAThis is it. Wait for them to makethe exchange.

The car drives away and the two men walk down the street inthe opposite direction.

AMYThats it. Lets go.

Amy and Rosa exit the car and pursue the two Men.

AMY (contd)You come up from behind them andIll sneak up in front and get thejump on them.

ROSAThat seems unnecessary and...

Rosa looks for Amy but she is already gone.

Rosa catches up with the two men.

ROSANYPD, stop right there.

The two men turn to see Rosa and they run away. Before Rosacan give chase, Amy flies in and TAKES DOWN both men. Rosastops in her tracks.

Amy picks up one of the men and pummels him. The other onegrabs her from behind but she flips him over herself ontothe ground like a ninja.

ROSAThis is the most Ive ever likedyou.

Amy delivers a final knockout blow to the man on the groundand then handcuffs both of them.

AMY(to men)

Listen up, I want answers and Iwant them now.

MAN 1Please dont hurt me anymore. Ihave a wife and 2 kids that hateme.

MAN 2Dont hurt me either. Im sleepingwith his wife.

ROSASantiago as much as I like hurtingpeople we dont have to do thisnow. We can call it in and takethem to the station.

AMYNope, we have to do it now. Wheredid these drugs come from huh?Gangs? Cartel? The people who tookJudge Crater? Who?

Jake is smashed. He is wearing a sash that says "HERO" and acrown that is lopsided. He stands next to a SPOKESWOMAN forthe bank that he saved.

SPOKESWOMANI would just like to thank everyonefor coming tonight to honor, and heasked me to say this, Hero of theCentury, Detective Jake Peralta.

The drunk crowd roars for Jake as he panders to them.

SPOKESWOMANAs a token of our appreciation, wewould like to present Mr. Peraltawith a gift.

JAKEI like gifts.

SPOKESWOMANWe decided to give you a gift fromone hero cop to another. It is mypleasure to give to you

Jake turns to see a GLASS BOX on a table, containing theprop gun Bruce Willis used in the film "Die Hard".

Jakes jaw drops. Hes never recieved a gift like thisbefore in his entire life.

EXT. ALLEY BY THE BAR - MEANWHILE

Terry is reaching for a window to look into the bar. He isbeing lifted by Charles while Gina watches. Charles isstruggling to keep Terry up.

GINACan you reach the window?

TERRYIm trying!

CHARLES(breathing, heavily)

Can you hurry please?

TERRYIm trying! Something exciting ishappening in there and Im tryingto see it.

GINAWhy didnt we have Terry lift upCharles?

CHARLES(still struggling)

How are we so bad at this?

Charles collapses under the weight of Terry and they bothfall to the ground hard.

GINA(giggles)

Gina takes a picture of them with her Iphone.

INT. BAR - AS WE LEFT THEM

Jake is still in awe over recieving John McClanes gun.

SPOKESWOMANJake, are you ok? You havent saidanything in about ten minutes now.

Jake lifts open the glass case and holds the gun.

Jake drunkenly stumbles into his home.

JAKE(singing but slurring)

BAD GUY (O.S)You are the man.

Jake looks up to see a group of nasty looking BAD GUYSstanding in his living room.

BAD GUYYoure the man who screwed up mybank job, and now youre gonna pay.

Jake looks at the bad guys and laughs. His laugh gets louderand louder and eventually the Bad Guys join in.Jake puts his hands behind his head and reaches for the gunthat is taped to his back. He draws it.

JAKEHolly, duck!

Jake pulls the trigger but nothing fires. Just empty clicks.

JAKEOh right, fake gun. Crap.

The Bad Guys surrond Jake as he sits uncomfortably in achair in the middle of the living room.

BAD GUY(interuppting)

We dont want you stupid autographhotshot! We want our goddamn money!

Holt walks out of his office and looks around the bullpen.

ROSAWhich one, the report about themayor funding a sweatshop or theone with the mayor running a drugring?

(beat)She really doesnt trust the mayor?

HOLTTo be fair, I didnt vote for himeither.

INT. 99TH PRECINCT - INTERROGATION ROOM

Amy stands behind the window in front of Holt. There is aPERP sitting at the table. His hands cover his face as heweeps loudly.

AMYIs this important Captain? Imkinda in the middle of somethinghere.

AMYWho him? I just got him to confessto crap load of crimes. Hes goingto jail for a while and now people

Jake enters the bank with the other Bad Guys. Jake isdressed as a cliche bank robber, complete with BLACK MASKand a BAG with a giant DOLLAR SIGN on it.

BAD GUYYou shouldnt have dressed likethat.

BAD GUYGo behind the desk and shut off thealarm.

Jake goes behind the desk. He ducks under and the entire 99force reveal themselves with their guns drawn, shouting atthe Bad Guys.

The Bad Guys surrender and they are handcuffed.

JAKEYeah, I dont know how you guysdidnt see it coming. Youre likethe Jon Cryer of robbing banks.Awful, just awful.

Jake waves goodbye as the bank robbers are hauled away.

The entire 99 stands out front of City Hall. A sea of fansand reporters stands in front of them, just like before.Jake stands in front of a podium.

JAKEThe Robbers were taken into custodyand they certainly wont beattempting to rob anything anytimesoon.

REPORTERHow did you stop them this timeDetective?

JAKEIt wasnt me this time. It was allof us, together, the entire 99precinct. You see, its never aboutone cop. Its about all of us. Weall work together toward the samegoal. Keeping you and the city. Weall deserve the credit, and no onecop should be made bigger than theentire force.

The 99 and the crowd gives a round of applause.
