Brookfi eld Centre in Real Estate & Infrastructure

Launched in 2016, the mission of the Brookfi eld Centre is to achieve international status as a recognized center of excellence in real estate and infrastructure education and teaching, experiential learning, research and industry outreach.

What is the program like?

• 12-month program combines theory with

practice, focusing on industry leadership and

career development.

• Connects students to a dynamic network of

alumni and industry players.

• Provides a comprehensive base of skills and knowledge

and a keen awareness of the socio-economic aspects

of real estate and infrastructure development.

• The fi nal term offers work /study, internship, and

research opportunities and a creative workshop that

integrates learning from every aspect of the student

experience both inside and outside the classroom.

A foundation built upon real work experiences

• The Schulich MREI provides an intensive program

of co-curricular activities including international case competitions, networking events, industry conferences, specialized training, fi eld trips and study tours to places such as New York City.

• MREI students – together with MBA students

specializing in real estate and infrastructure – organize

much of the co-curricular program, and costs are

subsidized by our REI Student Experience Fund.

Career opportunities

• The MREI addresses a signifi cant resource for

qualifi ed professions in what is recognized as the

single largest industry in the region as measured

by percent of GDP.

• Graduates work in real estate and infrastructure development, investment and portfolio management, project fi nance and consulting.

• Graduates are employed by developers, real estate investment trusts, pension funds and advisory fi rms, fi nancial institutions, brokerage and consulting fi rms. Some are entrepreneurs,

launching their own fi rms.

• Industry-specifi c career counselling and

placement services are provided by Schulich’s

Career Development Centre.

and Infrastructure (MREI) is designed to

develop city builders – to equip future leaders

in real estate and infrastructure development,

investment, fi nance and operations. The MREI

builds upon the reputation and expertise

of Schulich’s existing MBA specialization in

real estate and infrastructure, founded in 1991.
