The Swan Valley in Western Australia is a world of surprises just minutes away from the centre of Perth. Here you’ll find a rich fusion of award-winning wineries, fine food, fascinating history, amazing art and lively events set against stunning scenery. And best of all, it’s just a 25-minute drive from the city centre and less than 10 minutes from the domestic airport. This is the site for Australand’s latest community development, Bromley Estate.

Experience the Valley at its most vibrant by joining in the fun at one of the many festivals and events, from the famous Spring in the Valley and the Swan Valley Wine Show to the thrill of Western Australia’s big river event, the Avon Descent. All right outside your front door. A great way to experience the region’s wonders is to follow the award-winning Swan Valley Food and Wine Trail – a scenic loop taking in some of Western Australia’s (WA) finest wineries, breweries, distilleries, restaurants, cafés, arts and crafts and fresh produce.

Perth and the Swan Valley region in Western Australia boast more sunny days per year than any other Australian capital city so sunshine is usually the standard order. The warm sun and temperate climate has helped Western Australia cement its reputation as a world-renowned food and wine region, and is also conducive to the State’s outdoor lifestyle.

Enjoy a scenic trip thrugh bushland on a steam or diesel train or climb aboard WA’s only genuine vintage electric tram. Catch a vintage tractor parade or take a trip down memory lane in the transport heritage centre.

Stop off for a coffee in the Village Cafe then take a walk on the wild side with a visit to Caversham Wildlife Park where the kids can have a close-up encounter with some of Australia’s unique native animals, including kangaroos, koalas, Tasmanian devils and hairy nosed wombats.

There’s a water playground for the little kids during summer, basketball and tennis courts for the bigger kids, and the shaded picnic shelters and coin-operated barbeques for the whole family to enjoy. Even our four-legged friends are spoilt with their own 2.5 hectare dog park.

You’ll never run out of things to do in a park with an ever chnging calendar of special events, from vintage car exhibitions and animal shows to art exhibitions and family fun days. All this and more, right next door to your new home at Bromley Estate.

Central to the planning is the creation of a ‘sense of place’ that is relevant to the lives of people living in this rapidly expanding and maturing community.

The public art program is one way of achieving this feeling. Artworks throughout Bromley Estate can be enjoyed individually, but together they weave an ongoing story, linking ideas and creating a dialogue between the landscape and the viewer.

Bromley Estate art explores ideas for creating a new town on an ancient land. Memories of an older landscape enhance the new urban streetscapes and enrich the sense of place. The local artists use these memories, together with history and the natural environment, to create artwork that is profound and distinctive.

There are paths throughout Bromley Estate that you can take to visit the artwork in each village. You can collect a free guide to the artwork locations at The Gallery, 34 Main Street, Bromley Estate. Phone (08) 9266 2689
