PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND

ITINERARY NOV. 18 - 25, 2020

DAY 1: NOV 18 - DEPART CANADAHead your way to the airport to board your overnight flight to Tel Aviv.

Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport. You will be met by your tour director after going through customs and transferred to your hotel Nazareth for Dinner and overnight.

DAY 2 : NOV 19 - ARRIVE TEL AVIV

This morning, we will enjoy a scenic boat ride across the Sea of Galilee where we will celebrate mass. Then proceed to the Church of Peter?s Primacy (John 21:16). Here on the shore of Galilee, Jesus appeared to the Apostles after His Resurrection and confirmed Peter in the role as Vicar of Christ with the words, ?Feed My sheep.? The rock emerging from the center of the church is the actual table at which they ate breakfast. We will proceed onto Capernaum which for three years was the center of Jesus? public ministry. Here our Lord met his first disciples ? Peter, Andrew, James, John and Matthew ? and worked many miracles. He healed Peter?s mother-in-law of a fever, brought a child back to life, cured a leper, healed the centurion?s servant, cast out a demon from a young boy and healed all that were sick (Matt 8:16). Then we visit the synagogue where Jesus taught, and then drive to Tabgha ? the site where Jesus multiplied the Loaves and Fishes and fed over 5000 people (Luke 9:13). Next, we will drive to the Mount of Beatitudes the site of the Sermon on the Mount. We end the day by visiting Mount Tabor,the site of the Transfiguration. Check in at the hotel , dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 : NOV 21 - Cana, Nazaret h, Jer icho

We start our day by visiting Cana, the site of the first miracle. Couples may renew their wedding vow during the mass at the main church. Then on to Nazareth, the home of the Holy Family. While in Nazareth we will visit the magnificent Church of the Annunciation with its outstanding mosaics and where the Angel Gabriel told the Virgin Mary that she would give birth to the Messiah (Luke 1:26?38). Check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 : NOV 22 - Jer icho~Jordan River ~Dead Sea, ~ Ein Karem ~ Jerusalem

After breakfast drive along the Jordan Valley passing Jericho which is one of the world?s oldest walled cities and the city that Joshua destroyed. It is here that we will view the Mount of Temptation and visit the place of the Sycamore Tree where Jesus entered Jericho (Luke 19:1-10). Then onto the Jordan River, and renew your baptismal vow. Afterwards, we continue on to the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth, where there will be a possibility to float in the unique mineral-rich waters. Afterwards, we will visit Ein Karem, see the church of St John the Baptist built over the house of St John Baptist, and then ascend up the hill to visit the site of the Visitation. Then ascend to the Holy City of Jerusalem. Check into hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6 : NOV 23 - Jerusalem and Bet hlehemAfter breakfast drive up the Mt. of Olives for an overview of the Old City of Jerusalem. Walk along the Palm Sunday Road, stop by at Dominus Flevit then to the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-56). Visit the Church of All Nations. Continue on to visit the Upper room on Mt. Zion where Jesus and his Disciples ate the Last Supper. We will also visit the House of Caiphas , where a modern church was built called St Peter Gallicantu. Then drive to Bethlehem and visit the Church of the Nativity built over the site where Jesus was born (Luke 2:1-20). See the place at Shepherds' Fields where the shepherds were tending their flocks when they heard a heavenly chorus and followed the star to Bethlehem. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7 : NOV 24 - Old Cit y of Jerusalem

We wake up early today to walk along the Via Dolorosa and follow the 14 Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher . We will have the highlight of the trip with a mass at the Holy Tomb inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Go back to the hotel for breakfast. Then we go back to the old city through the St. Stephens gate (Acts 7:54-60). Walk to the Pool of Bethesda which is outside the city walls and where Jesus cured the paralytic man. Visit the Wailing Wall where Jews gather from all over the world to commemorate the destruction of the First and Second Temples. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure for shopping in the exotic and bustling bazaars of the Old City. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

DAY 8: NOV 25 - Ret urn t o Canada

After breakfast, head to the airport for your flight back home

In the event a traveller becoming ill during a tour and has not purchased insurance, all hospital and medical expenses are the traveller 's responsibility. Based on Supplier partners?s current cancellation policies the passenger may incur up to 100% cancellation penalties and should protect themselves with cancellation insurance. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BOOKING: A $100 administration charge will be applied for changes you make to your booking outside the 60 days to departure period. Please note na-me changes are not allowed and such will be treated as cancellations. IF MARIANATHA TOURS CHANGES YOUR BOOKING: We will advise you of any change we feel significantly alters the holiday which you have purchased from us. Occasionally, changes might occur close to departure time. In such cases, you will be notified as early as possible. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the local tour operator may have to make last minute changes in hotel or schedule. We reserve the right to substitute any of the hotel with hotels in similar or better category. First class twin-bedded rooms with private facilit ies are used.
