In the course of its history, Promon has taken part in the major enterprises carried out in Brazil’s mining and metallurgy industry.

Enjoying a prominent technical qualification in engineering and managerial excellence, Promon offers its customers creative and competitive solutions that are environmentally user-friendly, besides economically sustainable processes and techniques. Whether providing professional services or delivering integrated solutions, the company operates with a high degree of social and environmental responsibility, developing its services and projects with a high degree of quality.

In the mining area, the company has developed projects and taken part in the

implementation of ventures destined for the processing and production of iron ore, gold, bauxite, alumina, aluminum, coal, copper, uranium, niobium, phosphate, kaolin and nickel. Furthermore, the company has been active in international projects in Africa, the Middle East and Australia, providing support to the activities of its customers in Brazil.

The company has operated in the markets in which Brazil’s principal mining companies are active, having had more than 50 years of business relations with Vale. More recently Promon has also been active among the more junior mining companies, both national and international, which are undergoing a stage of development and/or implementation of their projects in Brazil.

Alumina RefineryClient: AlunortePeriod: 1979 – 2008

This is the first venture for the exploration and production of vanadium installed in Brazil. The respective mine has the largest concentration of this mineral in the world. In the first stage,

Promon developed the basic design and the Project Execution Plan – PEP. Promon is currently

engaged in the implementation of the venture according to an Engineering, Procurement and

Construction Management – EPCM format. The plant has a maximum production capacity of 11,000 tons of vanadium pentoxide and is to

be implemented in the Maracás municipality in the State of Bahia.

Alunorte has a production capacity of 6.4 million tons per year and is currently the world’s largest alumina refinery. Promon took part in the initial implementation of this venture and in the production capacity expansions aimed at reaching the current production level.

MINING

Expansion of the production capacity of Latin America’s largest fertilizer complex, comprising the construction of new units for the production of phosphoric and sulfuric acids, employing the best managerial, industrial safety and environmental conservation practices. The new units are to offer SOx emission levels equivalent to the limits observed in Europe and the United State.

Duplication of the Carajás (EFC) railroad. articipation in the development of theconceptual and basic design.

Vanadium PlantClient: Largo Resources

Period: As of 2011

Implementation of the pelletizing plant at the Sohar Port Industrial District of Oman. Promon developed the FEL 3® (Front-End Loading) stage, comprising the integration of the venture’s packages, the basic utilities project and the infrastructure basic and detailed designs, besides taking part in the customer’s Owner’s Team.

Plant built for the processing of iron ore, compact itabirite, with a production capacity of 19 million tons per annum of mineral pellet feed. This venture comprises the mine, the processing plant, mineral pipeline, storage and loading yard, as well as the branch railway line, pelletizing plant, tailings dam and energy supply system. Promon has developed the integration services for the conceptual and basic engineering designs, and the preparation of the project’s execution plan – PEP.

Ponta da Madeira Maritime Terminal Client: Vale

Period: As of 2004

The expansion of the structure for conveying of iron ore from the mine at Carajás, comprising the rail system and interconnections for the transshipment

of iron ore from the freight cars, as well as auxiliary systems., Promon took part, furthermore, in the implementation and production capacity expansions of the terminal, developing conceptual, basic and detailed designs, as well as

having provided technical support for the building activities.
