Dear Participants,
It gives us immense pleasure and privilege to invite you to Two Day’s International Conference on
Contemporary Issues in Management and Technology, (ICIMT-2011), which is being held at
Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), Tilak Road, Pune on 8th and
9th August, 2011. This conference aims to bring together the stake holders and practitioners of the
community to bring out the various challenges and their possible solutions. At the end of
conference, participants would have better understanding of issues, resolutions and approaches in
management of all sizes of projects and programs.
Conference Theme:
The conference theme is very much wide. It embraces the two commanding spectrums
“Management” and “Technology”. These two domains are both supplementary and complimentary
to each other. The overgrowing interdependence of both the domains gave the thought of bringing
these two inseparable fields together and provides a unique platform for discussion. The discussion
can yet be independent or interdependent.
Although organisations have become very aware of the importance of change management, many
managers and employees are still unsure as to the intricacies and details for really putting a change
management strategy into place. Change within the organisation often goes ignored for “more
important” priorities, but by ignoring change organisations risk further conflict amongst employees
- particularly large organisations in which change takes place in various locations - along with a
disconnection between employees, the workplace and their productivity.
Technology has affected society and its surroundings in a number of ways. In many societies,
technology has helped develop more advanced economies (including today's global economy) and
has allowed the rise of a leisure class. Many technological processes produce unwanted by-
products, known as pollution, and deplete natural resources, to the detriment of the Earth and
its environment. Various implementations of technology influence the values of a society and new
technology often raises new ethical questions. Examples include the rise of the notion
of efficiency in terms of human productivity, a term originally applied only to machines, and the
challenge of traditional norms.
