BRIEF INTRODUCTION

We, VISHAL PIPES LIMITED, an ISO 9001-2000 & 14001-2004 certified company, take immense pleasure

Management industry, i.e. manually operated Deep Well Hand Pumps for safe potable drinking water

Galvanised) & PVC Rigid & Conduit Pipes in the most modern State of the Art plant, located in

Sikandrabad (UP), just 32 km. far from New Delhi.

The organization pioneered its operations in 1989 to produce ERW Black Steel Pipes, Galvanised Steel

Pipes & PVC Pipe / Tube Scaffolding Tubes PVC Pipe Fittings, Malleable Iron Pipe Fittings and Hollow

Sections. Since then, the company has held a commanding position in the construction industry and has

not only tapped the premium segment of domestic market but has also earned name in the international

markets where the company's products are exported.

Water is the basic need of human being and all other living things for their survival on earth. As per

history, human being explored and utilized different sources of water such as ponds, lakes, rivers, streams

and surface wells. However, safe water for consumption has been a constant question throughout history.

To solve this problem, mankind has identified reliable source of deep well for drawing safe and potable

drinking water for consumption.

As per extensive research carried out, it was found that water level in Asia and Africa is continuously going

down and in most of the African countries and in some Asian countries, rural dwellers in remote areas,

wander for many hours for searching water in ponds/lakes and with no better option, they consume un-safe

water having bacteria/insects, which causes water borne disease. With God blessings, a solution in the

form of deep well hand pump was worked out for rural population which has no access to piped water

supply which is mainly available in developed cities. However, most of the hand pump suppliers havetaken this job as a profit making business. They show themselves as largest manufacturer of pumps but in

case premises of so called largest pump suppliers are inspected, they are just small garage type

assembling units. Those suppliers do not have adequate infrastructure to produce quality products. Such

suppliers procure inferior quality parts from small vendors and just assemble in their units and then dump

those products into the market with their brand name. At the same time, just to save few dollars, some

profit oriented customers prefer to buy such low cost inferior pumps. All this results into early breakdown of

pumps in the fields and then selling spares at high cost. Research has shown that millions of hand pumps

are lying in broken condition and useless in Africa due to low quality and want of expensive spares.

In view of all above problems being faced by communities, VISHAL PIPES LIMITED has taken decision to

serve the communities by manufacturing high quality hand pumps and spares in their own plant, exactly in

accordance with national and international standards as well as Unicef drawings. All piping raw material

required for manufacturing pumps and components, are already manufactured by Vishal Pipes Limited in

its own factory, and hence, need not to procure from other suppliers. Accordingly, VISHAL P IPES

LIMITED started manufacturing and supplying hand pumps under its registered brand name VPL INDIA.

We are getting enormous response from our valued customers and ultimately blessings from end users,

which has enhanced our confidence and enthusiasm to achieve top avenues in the handpump segment .

Our pumps and their components are manufactured in accordance with specified specifications and they

are compatible. Our pump and components/spares can be used with the old pumps lying in broken

Above groundstructure

The above-ground mechanism whichincludes head, handle, water tank andpedestal (stand), is fabricated fromwelded steel plates and sections forstrength, and hot-dip galvanized forcorrosion resistance.

Options of pedestal : Normal 3 legged pedestal

Telescopic 3 legged pedestalCylinder assembly The normal 63.5 mm dia cylinder is

made from a cast iron casing with apolished brass liner and gun metalplunger and check valve components.Seals (pump buckets, valve seals andcap seals) are available inenvironmentally safe nitrile rubber.

The cylinder is also available instainless steel, brass and PVC.

Connecting Rods The normal mild steel (electro-

galvanized) connecting rod with couplingis in 3 metre length, 12mm dia.

However, the connecting rod is alsoavailable in stainless steel.

Riser Pipes The normal Galvanized Iron (GI) RiserPipe is in 32 mm NB (medium), 3 meterlength.

However riser pipe is also available instainless steel Riser and uPVC.

U II / III MODIFIED HAND PUMP

U II Hand Pump is the same as of India Mark II Deep WellHandump with a minor difference in outlet/nozzle of the water tank.In U II Pump, the nozzle is small as compared to the nozzle of watertank of India mark II Hand Pump.

U III Modified Pump with 50mm dia open top, PVC brass linedcylinder assembly with extractable plunger and foot valvesassemblies. Recommended for water level setting depth of 20 to 45metres.

FORCE & LIFT INDIA MARK II HAND PUMP

Force Lift Hand pump is very much useful for supply of water forcleaning purpose of the public toilets in urban and rural areas. Thewater available through this pump is stored in a storage tank,installed about 6-7 meters above ground-level.

This pump is very effective in the areas where electric supply is notavailable.

Since this provision provides for installation of storage tanks, wateris made available continuously throughout 24 hours. It is a costeffective solution.

INDIA MARK II EXTRA DEEP WELL HANDPUMPS

India Mark II Extra Deep Well Hand pump, manufactured asper Indian Standard : IS:13287/1992 / IS 15500/2004,suitable for depth upto 90 metres. Above ground structure

made of mild steel, hot dipped galvanized, corrosionresistant, 63.5 mm dia cylinder assembly.

This pump is exclusively used for extracting water fromgreater depths. This pump is suitable for static water levelsvarying between 50 and 90 meters where placement ofcylinders can be upto 85 meters.

Most of the components are similar to the India Mark II HandPump with following differences :

Head assembly is slightly different (bracket opening is made tosuit 40 mm square handle bar).

Handle is thicker - made of 40 mm Square instead of the 32mm square. Moreover, it has tee arrangement and counterweights. The counter weights attached to the tee type handleassist in the easy movement. The number of counter weightsdepend upon the exact depth at which cylinder is placed, i.e. 1weight to be used for depth of 61 to 70 metres, 2 weights to beused for depth of 71 to 80 metres and 3 weights to be used fordepth of 81 to 90 metres

Cylinder assembly is different and is a combination of the mark2 and mark 3 components. It has 3 pump buckets.

INDIA MARK III DEEP WELL HANDPUMPS (VLOM 50 & 5 MM)

India Mark III Deep Well Hand pump, manufactured as per Indian Standard:IS:13056/1991, suitable for depth upto 45/50 metres. Above ground structure made of

mild steel, hot dipped galvanized, corrosion resistant, 50/65 mm dia cylinder assembly.This pump is modified version of India Mark II Hand Pump. The basic difference in IndiaMark - III Handpump and India Mark II Handpump is that this pump has Open Top Cylinder(OTC) which facilitates pulling out of plunger assembly and check valve assembly from thecylinder without pulling out the cylinder / riser main. Due to its features, this is also knownas "Village Level Operation and Maintenance" (VLOM) Handpump.

Since it is a simple cylinder assembly with single gun metalcomponent in each valve, no tools are required formaintenance of valves.

Rubber centralizers are used to maintain proper alignment ofriser pipes

Pump can draw water upto a depth of 50 metres. Modifications incorporated in this pump simplify maintenance

procedure and reduces maintenance. Maintenance can bedone at village level

Below ground level repair could be carried out within a veryshort time without removing pipes.

It minimizes breakdown time.

AFRIDEV DEEP WELL HAND PUMP

Afridev Deep Well Hand Pump, manufactured as per SKAT-HTN Switzerlandspecifications, with 50mm dia open top, PVC brass lined cylinder assembly withextractable plunger and foot valves assemblies, suitable for depth upto 45 metre.

This pump was designed on the basis of field trials in Africa, for drawing water upto adepth upto 45 metres. . It has a cylinder that allows the piston to be extracted withoutremoving the rising main.

Major features of this pump are as under :-

Bearing bushes are made from special plastics and the pump is hot dip galvanized. Variable handle settings are possible to meet changes in water levels at different times. Customization of spout length and Pedestal is possible.

Choice of Eye & hook connecting rod or threaded connecting rod.

Easy to install, can be accomplished by village women mechanics. Alternative stainless steel lined cylinder available for aggressive water conditions.

TREADLE PUMP FOR IRRIGATION

This kind of Treadle Irrigation Pump is suitable for irrigation upto the area of about 2 acres.In this system, water is lifted from nearby pond, lake canal etc. through suction and ispumped through hoses over long distances. In addition to irrigation, it can be used to fill thewater tanks kept on roof.

The pump can draw water from 7 metre depth and push it to 7 metre high or 180 metre onground. The pump is treadle driven, 100% manual. The pump is maintenance free and canbe used at different places, i.e. easy movement. The installation is very easy and straightforward. The replaceable piston rubber cups are supplied and can easily be fitted by anyuser.
