    Internet Content Filtering at Home

Several of you have asked for information on how to filter internet access at home, especially for those middleschool students that are now bringing home their iPads. Below is information from both Cox and Verizon asboth do provide a content filter with their internet service and additional information on a device/search terms:

    From Cox:

Cox offers different ways to restrict usage by the administrator/owner of the account. It's all done through the

Cox.net web page. An account number/pin number/User name/password authentication must be known to make

    changes.

The home account Customer service can walk you through unclear procedures.

    From Verizon:

Here is the web address for access and information on setting up their content filter:

    https://wbillpay.verizonwireless.com/vzw/nos/safeguards/SafeguardProductDetails.action?productName=contentfilters

Devices:iBoss is a wireless n web filtering router that has had somewhat mixed reviews (primarily in getting it properlysetup), but has been featured in quite a few magazine/online articles. I am by no means recommending youpurchase this; however, if you would like to pursue this option, here is the link:

    http://www.amazon.com/iBoss-Home-Filtering-Wireless-Router/dp/B004DJS24K

Searching:If you would like to do additional reading for a more informed decision, searching on "home content filter" orsomething similar should provide good results.
