Which story is true?(Answer on page 8) 1) TR6 Back in Production
Classic Sport Cars, Inc. is pleased to announce plans to put the Triumph TR6 back into production. The new Triumph is the EV6, because it is going to be the first all-electric British Sports Car, manufactured in the USA. The body and parts are new and made from the exact standards used on the original Triumph's production lines from the 1976 press, tooling dies, and assembly jigs. www.classicsportcar.net
2) Checking suspension on the roadside
Rally drivers Timo Makinen and Paul Easter help their mechanics check for a problem in the Mini’s suspension during the Acropolis Rally. Rolling the car onto its side was easier than jacking it up. www.classicandsportscar.com

2018 Renewals Past Due If you have already renewed your BSCA membership for 2018, thank you. Your dues cover everything from printing costs to library rental fees for the concours, parade entry fees to Christmas party expenses. If you haven’t yet renewed, please send the attached renewal form with your $30 check to John Martin, 8004 Meadow Hills Circle, Anchorage, Alaska 99502.
Mar. 3 BSCA board meeting
John Martin Secretary/treasurer If my memory serves me well in attendance were Martin Walters, Ken Morton, John Martin, Dave Baldwin, Rick Harding, Will Knoppe, Travis Demoss, Cheryl Babbe, Bill Demming, Bill Woolen, and Johnson Quarles.
We currently have 27 paid up members so far for this year. Our Current Bank Balance is $1948.30. I have 7 Calendars left that the Club agreed to sell for $10.00 each. I also have club cards to be given out, and decals, grill badges, stickers, and patches for sale. We need to have the President added to the bank account and previous presidents deleted from the account; I will do this hopefully tomorrow. We have reserved the Loussac Library for Sunday 10th June from 10 am until 4pm.
We are scheduled to be in the July 4th parade on, you guessed it, July 4th. Our first event is scheduled for the Saturday May 5th at Dave Bathkes Shop. The club will provide the sodas and snacks for this event.
2018 BSCA Activities & Plans
A one-page Events Calendar is attached. Last year we moved the Concourse from the traditional Saturday date to Sunday to avoid conflicts. The dates for many of these events are set by others. If you have an idea for an event, be sure to contact President Martin Walters, [email protected] or 854-9949.
May 5 (Saturday) First event of the year: Dave Bathke’s shop day.
Dave writes:
“Hello all BSCA members,
“My beautiful bride Tane’ & I are inviting all of you to the 2nd annual BSCA Shop Day at our home.
“The address is 4351 DeArmoun Road. We are a little more than a mile up from the Seward Highway, and three driveways past Elmore Road, which has an overhead flashing caution light.
“We have a car lift, and the ramps have been modified for low ground clearance cars. If you would like to do an oil change, or rotate your tires, or just get a good look at your car (or other peoples cars) this is a great opportunity for that to happen.
“Time is from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM +/-. Feel free to stop by anytime. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.”

I will be organizing club attendance to this year's “Tune in the Spring” car show at the Alaskan Transportation Museum located just west of Wasilla. There will be more info sent out in an email, once I've had a chance to pose questions to the event organizers. It’s a lot of fun to watch, and we get in free to show our cars. We are the only car club invited to the Games. Let’s make this a good show.

1952 Tojeiro Barchetta The Tojeiro was built with MG and Bristol engines. The Bristol-engined version became the prototype for the AC Ace, which was later developed as the Cobra.

Recent years have seen the construction of “continuation” Cobras, and “continuation” D-Type, E-Type, and XK-SS Jaguars. Small quantities of these cars have been built on “missing” chassis numbers by the original manufacturers. Now Aston Martin is

Member News Chuck Berns, R.I.P. Heather Cortez, granddaughter of Chuck Berns, sent the sad news of her grandfather’s passing. Chuck was a founding member of British Sports Cars Alaska and the proud owner of a beautiful red Jaguar XK120.

page that he owned a Lotus Elan that had once been in Alaska. Scott Bruno recognized it as a car that had been through Anchorage with the Panama to Alaska Rally ten years ago.
