About the BC Home Parenteral Nutrition (HPN) Program
Our Program provides nutrition to people with intestinal failure who can live
in the community. The Program staff includes a gastroenterologist, a dietitian,
a nurse and a pharmacist. Our team works together with your family doctor,
specialists and other healthcare providers.
We see adult patients at our clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. The
frequency of clinic visits will vary based on your needs, from every month to
once per year. At the clinic, a gastroenterologist, a nurse and a dietitian will
assess you. During your appointment, the team will review your bloodwork,
parenteral nutrition (PN) prescription and your central venous catheter.
Your bloodwork is monitored between clinic visits. The results are faxed to our
Program, your family doctor and any specialists involved in your care. This is
so we can work with your health care team.
Our staff may be contacted during office hours:
Monday‐Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at 604‐806‐9353 or 1‐877‐806‐9353.
Clinic Appointment Information
We will contact you to book a clinic appointment. However, if at anytime you
would like to see the team, please call us to make an appointment. If you need to
cancel or change your appointment, please contact our office at least 24 hours in

Where to Park
It is difficult to find parking downtown. You will need time to find a parking space before your clinic
appointment.
There is metered parking on the side streets near the hospital. The maximum time is two (2) hours.
There are pay parking lots near the hospital at the Century Plaza Hotel on Comox Street across from the Comox
Street entrance to St. Paul’s. There is also parking at the Wall Centre located on Burrard Street. These lots collect
parking fees as you leave. It may be less stressful for you to use a parking lot, as appointments may take longer
than anticipated.
There is also an Outpatient Clinic Parking lot located on the corner of Comox and Thurlow Streets. This small,
outdoor lot is located near the Comox Street entrance. It is payable by credit card only (Visa, MasterCard or
American Express).
