Job Description Job title Junior Transaction Analyst, Guarantee and Wholesale Solutions Team Guarantee and Wholesale Solutions Band 7 Reporting to Deputy Head Wholesale Solutions Management responsibility n/a Purpose of the job The Guarantee & Wholesale Solutions team originates and structures cash and risk transfer transactions of SME loan and asset finance portfolios. The team executes transactions with SME lenders such as banks and non-bank financial institutions and seeks to address funding and capital constraints these entities may face that prevent them from increasing their credit activity in the small business sector. Main duties The team offers excellent exposure to all facets of a transaction, and an opportunity to assume substantial responsibility early on. This role will include but not be limited to: origination and marketing, structuring and financial modelling, portfolio analysis and market and regulatory research. Key aspects of the role will involve: Supporting the execution of ENABLE Funding and ENABLE Guarantee transactions; Support the marketing of ENABLE Funding and ENABLE Guarantee transactions; Liaising with stakeholders such as BEIS, HMT, counterparties as well as service suppliers; Writing credit proposals and managing internal approval processes (with supervision); Ongoing transaction management after closing, including monitoring credit exposures; Developing good working relationships with colleagues in different areas within the British Business Bank. Knowledge and experience The successful candidate will be a recent graduate from a leading university. The following skills are required: Strong quantitative and analytical skills; Excellent written and spoken communications abilities; Ability to communicate well with senior management; Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure; Ability to produce high quality written presentation materials (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); Strong organisational skills; Ability to prioritise and to work to deadlines; Sensitivity to detail and accuracy in everyday work; Pro-active, self-motivated professional, who works well in a team environment, as well as on an individual basis; strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think creatively. The following would be desirable but are not essential: knowledge of VBA and MS Access; willingness to obtain a relevant professional qualification (CFA/CAIA/FRM);

Internal and external stakeholdersThis role will work closely with the British Business Bank’s internal legal, risk, finance and economic analysis functions. It will also work with client counterparties, legal and accounting advisors.

QualificationsDegree level (or equivalent experience) in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, econometrics, physics or engineering is highly desirable
