Swimsafer Programme 2017

Objective

The SwimSafer programme aims to inculcate

water safety-survival skills and knowledge in

our children to minimise drowning and other

water accidents.

All pupils to participate in the

Primary 3 Swimsafer Programme as this is part of the new PE syllabus.

Details

When: 12 Fridays

Term 1 Week 5 to Term 2 Week 9

(3 February 2017 to 19 May 2017)

Where: Bukit Batok Swimming Pool

Preparation Phase

A water safety talk will be held during school assembly time to

show pupils the importance of water safety skills.

Lesson Phase

• Lesson 1

Swimming coaches will test pupils and assign them according to their abilities to one of these groups ~ Basic, Intermediate or Advanced

• Lessons 2-10

One swimming coach is assigned to a group of 10 pupils (max)

**PHE teachers and parent volunteers will be present at the pool to assist in supervision while lessons are being carried out.

Primary Three Swimsafer Course is

FREE.

** The cost of the P3 Swimsafer course is paid by MOE.
