About the Amsterdam Bridge:- Opened in 1978
- Named after Toronto's twin city.
- Steel Cable Footbridge
- In low traffic Toronto Harbour area, below is a docking facility for boats
- Only light damage according to OSIM guidelines.
- Design for Aesthetics
Recommendations for Maintenance Work
- Repaint rusted areas (Rusting classified as light by OSIM guidelines)
- Wood, Concrete and Steel all in good condition apart from minor rusting.

use, especially in the winter. • Better for people with mobility
issues because of anti-slip treads• Improved safety: Fewer people
would slip on the bridge due to wet surfaces or ice.

• Less chance of pedestrians tripping on the stairs.
