INSTRUCTIONS FOR BRIDGE CLUB LIVE REGISTRATION Go to https://www.bridgeclublive.com

Select Register.

Enter your first name, last name, email address and confirm your email address. Then press here to register.

Select continue to register.

Select Basic ACOL and then select submit your registration.

Enter the confirmation number that you received in your email.

It takes about 5 minutes to process your application.

Enter the members area.

Read terms and conditions and tick to accept and then select submit.

Answer the questionnaire and select submit and continue.

You are now in the members area and will have received another email with your logon details for future sessions. Now to subscribe to be a full member do the following:

Select subscriptions->Buy/Renew Membership

Select ORDER for full membership 30 Days top item. Fill in payment details on next screens. You will become a FULL Member for 30 days. To continue for a year simply BUY/RENEW membership.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLAYING BRIDGE ONLINE IN THE BCL BRIDGE CLUB Open your web browser and go to https://www.bridgeclublive.com

Login with your MemberID and Password and press Log in

Press the Play Bridge button and this opens the Bridge Club in a new Tab. This can be confusing if you want to go back to Bridge Club Live page. To do this simply close the Tab of the bridge club or toggle between the Tabs.

Press ‘Enter The Bridge Club’ (you may also toggle some privacy settings at the bottom of the page before pressing enter if required, however the defaults should be ok)

You will automatically be placed into the Lobby. You may enter any room once you have become a FULL member. The Social Bridge room is the best place to practice and set up a game with your friends. The Daily MPS room is where the DIDO (Drop In Drop Out) tournament resides where Chippenham Bridge club will play their online bridge. Instructions are the last set in this set of instructions.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRACTISING WITH FRIENDS IN THE SOCIAL BRIDGE ROOM

Select Members highlighted at top of screen

Filter by selecting FRIENDS on the left and ALL on the right. Look for your partner in the list. (NB you need to set up all your friends before using this feature see bottom of these instructions) If you have not set up friends then filter by MEMBER and look for your partner. Select your partner and they will appear on the right hand side of the page.

I have chosen PaulineH22642. When your partner is online you can invite to play (your partner will get a message asking them to accept). You can set as partner.

Now select ROOMS and go into the SOCIAL room.

You can start a table by selecting the top left table. Both you and your partner will be seated at that table. If there are four of you then the other pair can follow the same process but rather than start a new table, they can join the table started by the first pair. Now you are almost READY to start. Each player will need to press READY in the centre of their screens. When everyone is ready a hand is dealt, and you start playing as if you were in a normal club. IMPORTANT – ALERTS on BCL are like normal club night alerts and made by the partner of the playing making the conventional bid. STOP is not used online.

SETTING UP FRIENDS IN BCL

Select Members->Lookup a Profile

Search for your partner by typing the first part of their alias name and pressing search.

Select partner’s profile and select Add to Friends. Repeat for each of your friends. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLAYING IN THE DIDO TOURNAMENT The objective is to get everyone in the Chippenham Bridge Club playing online using Bridge Club Live and registering with the Chippenham Bridge Club as their local club. We can then play on Monday and Friday in the DIDO (Drop-in-drop-out) Tournament which is in the Daily MPS Room at our normal times so that we get to play each other as well as other players that happen to be playing in the same tournament. The difference being that we will all be registered with Chippenham Bridge Club and have access to all our local club reports. A new feature was added yesterday called LOCAL CLUB and you will see this on all new screenshots below. Before I go through the instructions for a typical session of bridge everyone should have Registered with Bridge Club Live and become a FULL member (see instructions above). Everyone should have set up their friends/partners to make looking for a partner easier. Everyone should have practiced in the SOCIAL room especially with their partner (pick up the phone to arrange a time). Everyone should have read the CODE OF CONDUCT under the INFORMATION menu item. Everyone should register with Chippenham Bridge Club under the Members->Clubs menu item (see below this only needs to be done once). REGISTERING WITH CHIPPENHAM BRIDGE CLUB

Select Members->Clubs as shown above. This will open the clubs page.

From the list of clubs in right pane select Chippenham Bridge Club UK.

Press HERE to register on the left pane.

You have now successfully registered. This will allow you to use LOCAL CLUB to see all of our members when in the Bridge Club.

ENTERING THE DIDO TOURNAMENT I would recommend arranging a time with your partner when to start playing. You must play at least 4 boards at a time and allow 30 minutes for the round of 4 boards. You may drop out for a cup of tea after each 4 boards however I would recommend playing 12 boards before dropping out for tea. Then play another 12 boards. This will require the normal 3 hours of playing time. You can start anytime between 7am and 12pm but I am recommending that as a club we stick to the Monday and Friday start times so that as many Chippenham players are playing at the same time and thus will meet each other. Summary of steps (detailed instructions follow)

1. Phone your partner and arrange your start time. 2. Select PLAY BRIDGE to go into the Bridge Club 3. Anchor your partner by using ‘Set as partner’ 4. Move from the Lobby into the Daily MPS Room 5. Choose Enter the DIDO Tournament (you will also need to fill out the SSD card which

your partner will accept – this is your conventions) your partner will automatically be seated opposite you.

6. You will be assigned another pair to play against and play. You will be automatically moved and must play at least 4 boards before dropping out (I recommend dropping out after 12 boards for tea and then going back in for another 12 boards, however it is up to you as long as you play 24 boards)

Phone partner to arrange time. Preferably at 13:15 on a Monday and 18:45 on a Friday so that as many Chippenham players meet each other in the tournament. However, as long as you play on the Monday or Friday you will be included in that days tournament results so do not be pressured into playing exactly at these times. Go into the bridge club by pressing Play Bridge

In the bridge club press ‘Enter The Bridge Club’

You will be placed in the Lobby

Select Members and filter by the friends you have set up or select Local Club

Select your partner from the friends list (e.g. Pauline is my partner) and your partner will appear on right hand side.

Anchor your partner by selecting ‘Set as Partner’ as shown above. Also Invite partner when online and partner should accept. Then Select Rooms top left.

Then select the Daily MPS room as shown above.

Enter the DIDO Tournament which will be the table in the top left. This will seat you as either North or East and your partner as either South or West. You will then be asked to submit your SSD. Your partner will need to confirm. You are now ready to play.

You will now be paired against another pair and need to click READY in middle of table. Then bid in turn and use the chat where necessary. Once you have played 4 boards you may drop out or continue.
