Chris understands Bretford to the core, having worked in nearly all the departments over the years.

BRETFORD APPOINTS CHRIS PETRICK AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

CHICAGO – January 7, 2010 – Bretford Manufacturing, Inc., manufacturer of dependable furniture products

that improve how people work and learn, today announced that Chris Petrick has been named chief executive

officer for the company, effective immediately. In his new role, Petrick is responsible for leading the 61-year-

old family business, which consists of nearly 350 employees, 450,000 square feet of production space, and

thousands of technology furniture products for schools and businesses.

“Bretford is a family business – my father and uncle started the company in 1948, and my brother and I have

continued ownership,” explained Dave Petrick, former CEO and current chairman of Bretford Manufacturing,

Chris Petrick joined Bretford in 1991 after earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas. Prior to

accepting his new position, he served as director of sales and director of marketing, and held numerous

territory, product and marketing management positions at the company. He was an integral part of the internal

team that brought Bretford into the Contract market space. He is also a member of BIFMA (The Business and

Furniture Manufacturer’s Association) and is on the show planning committee for NSSEA (National School

Supply & Equipment Association).

With this new organization, Mike Briggs will remain in his role as president of Bretford, concentrating his

efforts on the sales, marketing and customer service support functions within the business.
