Past Reunions1955

The class of 1955 enjoyed 3 days together last September.Friday night was a get-together at the home of Bob Green '50(brother of Judith Green Arnett). Bob lives in the family homeon White Avenue across from the high school. Our class hasbeen meeting every five years since our 20th reunion in 1975.We have fallen into a pattern of a Friday night social, a Saturdaynight dinner, and a Sunday brunch. Brunch is always at GailBurkhardt Wahlig's in Brentwood. This reunion was especiallymeaningful as we had members there who we had not seensince graduation: Judson (Bill) Jesson, Jack Fuchs, WarrenGrassman. We came from California, Texas, Florida, NewJersey and a whole lot in between.

A great time was had by all with lots of reminiscing on Saturdayas Lois Jeanne Wright Cromwell hosted 21 women of our classfor a brunch. Lois Jeanne's mother was also in attendance! Asa special tribute to our class, we donated memorial bricks inhonor of Myrna Williams Fallaschett, Lois Rader Stiles, PatHoag Persons, Stanley Dayton, and Preston (Pat "Spider")Perkins.

The Saturday evening dinner at Del Pietro's on the Hill was aspecial event for all of us. For classmates not living in the St.Louis area, it was a very special treat to enjoy some nostalgia ofsavoring the wonderful Italian food on the "Hill," while enjoyingthe memories and conversation with our friends and classmates.Jodie Thomas Welch and Gail Burkhardt Wahlig worked hardwith the help of many volunteers again this year, as they haveevery five years to celebrate the reunion of the Class of '55. Theweekend was one to be remembered and brought us closertogether in so many ways. Our classmates salute Jodie and Gailand all the others that helped make this reunion a success. Welook forward to future Brentwood Class of 1955 reunioncelebrations.

It was fun to figure out whomatched their nametag. The group has decided to keep tryingto find lost classmates and gather again in 2010 for our 45threunion. Hopefully, we will have found everyone by then. Please let me know if you are willing to be on a committee tohelp plan this fun event. 1996The day had arrived for the Class of 1996 Ten Year Reunion. The family picnic was held on June 24, 2006, at WindeggerShelter in Tilles Park. Alums from California to New Yorkwere contacted for the event. We had approximately 50 peoplein attendance; 18 of them were former students, former facultymember, Mrs. Powell, former principal Mr. Corley, and presenthome-school coordinator Mr. Jackson, along with family andfriends. The food was catered by Bandana's; kids were enter-tained by face painting while mom and dad caught up with oldclassmates. The biggest changes in our class were several ofclassmates being first time parents. Majority of the class livesin or has moved back to the St. Louis area.

This event would not have been possible without ChandraGines and Snigdha Bijjiga Haff for planning and coordinating.Special thanks to Hassib Aoidi for a generous financial contri-bution, and Jackie Genna Barr for prompt response throughoutthe planning. Special wishes from Mrs. Harris, Mr. Penn, andMrs. Shephard, and those classmates who expressed regrets onnot being able to attend, made the day complete.
