Mindfulness

Mindful coloring is simply focusing on the present moment and using coloring to take a moment to regroup, relax, and take your mind off all the busy things and

distractions playing out around you. During this process, you can focus your attention solely on coloring and what you will create.

Do you like to draw, color, or doodle shapes on paper? What kinds of things do you like to color or draw? Talk about these questions as a class!

Take time to just color, without any rules or limitations. Color however you’d like to color and don’t worry about what others may think. Choose whatever type of coloring materials you’d like to use, such as colored pencils, markers, crayons, or colored pens. Be creative and have fun! Take your time when coloring, and don’t worry if you make a mistake. Just keep coloring.

After everyone has completed their coloring page, take time as a class to talk about each of your individual drawings. You can share ideas such as what you colored, the colors you used and why, and any thoughts or feelings that came up for you while coloring.

Curate a discussion environment that is welcoming, understanding, and judgment-free. Listen attentively to what each student chooses

to share and be respectful of their creations.

Mindful Coloring

Choose a coloring activity page (either the pages attached or another one that your teacher may have), or feel free to create your own design.
