PRODUCER’S NOTE
Welcome to the Village Playhouse Young Person’s Playwriting
Project, Second Edition.
Our four budding high school and middle school authors spent
their Wednesdays this summer learning about the art and craft of
playwrighting and composing the plays you will see tonight.
The scripts represent a youthful looks at some very adult sub-
jects, giving an interesting perspective to both context and con-
tent.
It has been a pleasure to watch these talented teenagers grow and
nurture their work from the page to the stage.
Thanks to our crew and four talented casts and directors for giv-
ing of their time and energy. Thanks to Erico and Inspiration Stu-
dios for a home and endless support.
My special thanks to Max, Nicholas, Kate, and Kyra for the com-
mitment they brought to the project. Thanks to the parents who
supported their efforts with time, transportation, and love. And
thanks to you, our audience, for your support in this project.
Enjoy the shows!

Rita Bates (Switch) is honored to direct once again for the Vil-
lage Playhouse. She directed Miss Highdudis in the past, so
bringing this young playwright’s words to life is expecially excit-
ing, especially because it gave great room for the actors to play.
Rita would like to thank producer Tom Zuelke for once again
trusting her to direct and also a big thank you to the talented cast
who made her job easy.
Scott Sorensen (To Heal The Wounds) is thrilled to return to the
director’s chair for the YPPP. Thanks to the cast members and
production crew. Thanks to Tom Zuehlke for his trust. Thanks to
Erico for everything he does to help out. Thanks to you, the audi-
ence, for supporting the arts. As always, never-ending love to the
late Aric Fisher. Sit back and enjoy the shows!
Scott Stenstrup (The Dallas Shooting) is amazed at the quality
of writing by our young playwrights. He is pleased to help bring
Kyra Price’s timely and relevant topic to life. Scott likes to enter-
tain you. He loves theatre. Enjoy the show and thanks you for
being here.
Paul Zaragoza (Alex and Jamie) is simply thrilled that he is now
directing for the Village Playhouse after a two-year hiatus. Pre-
vious directing credits include The Underpants (Assistant Direc-
tor), and From Dusk till Dawn at Theatre Unchained, The Hys-
terical History of The Trojan War at Milwaukee Recreation and
a ten-minute scene from Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf at Uni-
versity of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. You may have seen him on
stage most recently in Eurydice and Jake Revolver: Freelance
Secret Agent, both with the Village Playhouse. A special thanks
goes to his cast, the cast moms, Moondancer Drake and Lily Sul-
livan, for their huge support and, of course, family, friends and
audience members. Enjoy the show!
DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHIES
Max Erickson (To Heal The Wounds) is a senior at Waukesha
West High School. He is devoted to his passion for theatre. He
hopes to continue his studies of theatre arts in college and hopes
to make a career out of it, on or off stage. He also has a dream of
becoming a published author and playwright, and eventually di-
recting his work. He thanks you for coming out tonight and hopes
you enjoy the show!
Kate Hightdudis (Switch) is very excited to have her first written
play brought to life. Kate is 12 years old and in 7th grade at
Longfellow Middle School in Wauwatosa. She has preformed in
a few productions of the Village Playhouse. She enjoys baking,
spending time with friends, and volunteering at the Wisconsin
Humane Society.
Nicholas Hightdudis (Alex & Jamie) is excited to see his play be
performed by the people at Village Playhouse. After performing
in many plays, including last year’s Young Persons Playwriting
Project, he wanted to try his hand at writing a play of his own
during this workshop. He is a freshman at Wauwatosa East where
he is taking an acting class. He was A Midsummer Nights Dream,
Skin Of Our Teeth, The Woods, with the Village Playhouse, and
group acting for forensics. He takes drum lessons and has sung
with Bel Canto Boys Choir. He likes to draw, play computer
games, and has an interest in science and biology.
Kyra Price (The Dallas Shooting) is an 8th grader at St. Frances
Cabrini, in West Bend. She loves theater, and has been in 15
shows (and counting.) Favorite roles include Jemima Potts in
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang last year and White Rabbit in Alice,
Kattrin in Secret of the Goat Children, and Ling in Mulan, Jr.
This is the first play she’s written that’s being produced in a real
theater, and she hopes you’re going to love it. She’s thankful to
Tom Zuehlke and the Village Playhouse for this opportunity.
She loved getting to know the other writers and seeing their
works in progress. To everyone involved in the produc-
tion,“Break a leg!”
