Coldbsrg-Zoino £ Associates, Inc. (GZA) is pleased to present the

rasults of a groundwater and surface water sampling round

conducted at the above-referenced plant site. A site plan is

attached. The work was perfomed consistent wltih our proposal

dated May 19, 1988, and ie subject to the attached linitatione.

FIELD AND lAPORATORY PROCEDURES

Two site monitoring wells and two surface water samples were

sampled on May 23, 1988 by Mr. Kenneth W. Hllender, a CZA

hydro9eolo9ist.

Groundwater samples were collected from existing monitoring wolls

cw-i and cw-2 on May 23, 1988. These samples were obtained using

five-foot stainless-steel bailers with terion ball check valves.

A separate precleaned bailer was used tor each well to prevent

cross-contamination between roonitoring wells. Three tlices the

initial volAuae of water in the wells was evacuated before saxiples

were collected.

Surface water samples SW-1 and SW-2 were collected from two ponds

located near the sampled wells, as shown on the attached figure.

These samples were collected by submerging the sample container

in the pond and filling with a minimum of agitation and tur

bulence.
