In the mid 1970s a wave of unprecedented political violence begins to unfold in Argentina. This, however, appears to have little effect on a small rural town where Claudio, a well-known lawyer, leads a placid life with his family. The ordinary course of things is interrupted, however, when Claudio gets into a heated argument that gets out of hand. Claudio is unsettled by the event but resumes his daily routine, until a private detective (Alfredo Castro) in search of Dario appears in the small town.

“Building Bridges” is a film that pursues a possible relationship between Heloisa, the filmmaker, and her father, an engineer who had his moment of glory during the Brazilian military dictatorship. Projections and maps become the first bridges to connect with the past. However, it is the inescapable present that really strikes Heloisa and Alvaro as they position themselves on opposite sides of the troubling political situation of Brazil.
