I have used the word children in my logo name as I wanted it to be obvious who my website was aimed at. As well as it being obvious it gives a slight indication of what my website is about. I used the colour black as it’s simple but effective. Black connotes the darkness as my theme of website is homelessness it relates to the logo. As the font is bold it allows the logo to stand out more and as I would be using it over a white background you would clearly be able to see it.

I decided the phrase ‘children need you’ was not specific enough to who my website will be aimed at. I have now changed my website and called it ‘Teenagers need you’. I’ve done this as I believe my subject theme of website doesn’t really apply to children that much, there are more teenagers homeless than children so my target audience is now aimed at teenagers, male and female of the age groups 14-17 years. Furthermore, i also decided to change the colour white and now have a white fill in with black outline. The connotation of the colour white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion. These are all suggestions of how the teenagers will feel when they come to get help from my charity. The look of the logo is also les s bold and powerful therefore more effective as it’s not pin pointing out directly that specific teenagers need help as they could find it offensive.

I considered changing my ideas again, however again changed my name. I want to now also aim my product at foster parents as well as teenagers as they will be the peoples lives who will also change. The phrase ‘want’ is much more powerful and emotive therefore gets the real meaning across. I changed the colour of my font as i thought white was to angelic, it wouldn’t of been bold enough and as it’s a sensitive theme, white was too happy. Consequently, I decided to use the colour blue as it has a connotation of trust, honest and loyalty. It’s a calming colour, this is exactly what the teenagers need in their life therefore makes it extremely effective. The colour is quite quiet and lonely, indicating exactly how the homeless teenagers feel. I felt this colour suited the text a lot more. The shadow of the words repeated is an indication of a child with their foster parent behind them, its showing teenagers their not alone which I feel will make my website much more successful.
