WELCOME

We believe that strong branding is important to Michael Hyatt & Company. These branding guidelines are meant to provide a solid base we can build upon that is creative and excellent.

CORE IDEOLOGY

The core ideology of Michael Hyatt & Company flows from the belief that professional and personal growth are a divine calling. We believe leadership is first and foremost a stewardship and that we are entrusted with skills, opportunities, and people.

We glorify God by cultivating and growing our businesses, closest relationships, and ourselves to their greatest potential. Winning at work and succeeding at life is an expression of that stewardship.

Our employees do not have to believe in God to be a part of our team, but all team members are expected to respect the mission, values, and vision that flow from these beliefs. We are committed to treating all people, regardless of their beliefs, with the love and respect Jesus modeled for us.

As stewards, we hold ourselves accountable to Him.

LOGO ELEMENTS + VERSIONS

This is the primary visual form in which Michael Hyatt & Co. will be experienced by the world. It’s important, especially in the beginning stages, to associate the name with the mark, and vice versa. Only after the brand has been established can you begin to use these marks separately.

The Michael Hyatt & Company logo consists of two elements—the word mark “Michael Hyatt & Co.” and the compass icon, represents direction and leadership. While the compass icon is often used alone, the word mark should never be used without the compass icon.

Most of the time, we use our logo in deep purple (preferred), light purple (web use only), black, or white.

COMMON MISTAKES

This applies to all brands.

1. Do not change the capitalization.

2. Do not change the arrangement of the logo. If the entire logo will not fit in the space available, use the compass icon.

3. Do not change the font.

4. Do not change the relative size of the compass icon to the word mark.

5. Do not stretch, squish, or skew the logo.

6. Do not place the logo on a background that renders it illegible (e.g., too busy ornot enough contrast).

7. Do not use the logo in watermark style. The compass icon may be used as a watermark.

SIZE + SPACE

Our logo needs to be clearly recognizable wherever it is used, so correct size and spacing are important.

Because the Monogram and Text might be hard to view at a small scale, we recommend using the simple, compass monogram for for instances where you feel it is too small to read legibly.

The importance of whitespace around brand elements and throughout all layouts cannot be overstated. It adds confidence and clarity to the visual messaging. The more, the better.

The minimum whitespace around the mark and lock-up is equivalent to the mark scaled down to 50%.

OUR APPROACH TO IMAGESAll images should inspire and portray leadership, professionalism, and prestige. We should show diversity in the subjects of the photos and videos in race, ethnicity, age, life stage, and gender.

ILLUSTRATION

Illustrations should be simple, clean, and use appropriate brand colors. We typically use flat illustrations without gradients or drop shadows.
