Picasso’s began in a tiny shotgun storefront offering pizza and sandwiches for delivery only. Within a few years, the shop expanded to a full-service restaurant and broadened its menu and concept to include signature pastas, steaks, seafood and more. In recent years, two more locations have opened. A new brand was developed to enhance these changes, and the advertising image was streamlined to appeal to dining families on a budget.

In 2008, it was determined that a further simplification of the new brand, by removing the boxes from the top and bottom of the design, allowed the brand greater flexibility in advertising and peripheral designs.

CD PACKAGING & PROMOTION


Sorta, Little Bay CD Package, Promo CD & Press Kit, 2004. The Little Bay project began with two photo sessions: the first in-studio as recording was happening; and a second session at a local bar where the band members spent much of their downtime. The collage is a homage to The Rolling Stones’ album Exile On Main Street, applied more literally as the story of making a record in images. This contrast with the little-known title location on the Texas gulf coast illuminates a sense of timelessness that can be felt in the music.

This CD release and package design followed the tragic death of Carter Albrecht in 2007 from an accidental gunshot wound. Carter was a beloved musician in Dallas. His family and community were shattered. Working closely with the family, it was important to strike a balance between the often rebellious style of Carter’s music and the reverential tone of emotions swirling around his passing. The design is an amalgamation of hand-drawn artwork by his girlfriend and others, along with a personalized booklet featuring the lyrics scribbled in his own hand.

Premium Passport Direct Mail , 2006-2011. Cover designs for a 64-page savings book mailed to 100,000 affluent homes and businesses, and published in four regions of Dallas five times a year. The designs pictured commemorate the 10-Year Anniversary and a Holiday Issue.

Premium Passport Media Kit, 2011. The cover is featured with various pages in the media kit, and a one-sheet promoting the A-List Social Media product. The inset at top left is a promotional poster for the ever-popular dining section.
