The church is going to grow. 4. People are going to talk about us. It really is a pretty simple process. We care. We share. We grow. People are loved. People are blessed. People come to Jesus. A word about your Christianity. It is ALWAYS, repeat that out loud, ALWAYS CONTAGIOUS. If your Christianity is bitter – you will share that. If your Christianity is based in joy – that will be what you share. If your Christianity is selfish – you will share that. If your Christianity is generous and loving – you will share that. What or How do you want to share? Thats the focus coming in May. Becoming CONTAGIOUS CHRISTIANS that share the GOOD NEWS – the loving, merciful, gracious and generous GOOD NEWS. Lets all be contagious together! On another front- Thank you for praying for 30 days about the roof project over the education wing. I hope you have continued to pray – for unity, for clear direction and for the financial resources to accomplish Gods leading. While you have been praying (47 of you FCC-JC members and friends + 3 from other parts of the country) your building committee has continued to work, and we now have 3 options for you to hear about. Because we believe God has called us to move TOGETHER, we are gathering together to share information, ask questions and to ask for a clear answer from God about our next steps. This week’s word is CONTAGIOUS.

For the last 2 plus weeks I have had a cough caused by a viral infection in my lungs. I have diligently worked to not share those germs with any of you or anyone else. At my first Dr’s appointment they told me that I was probably not contagious anymore but to be on the safe side I should wash my hands a lot and not cough directly onto people. I also changed how I handled the communion bread – not putting the bread I actually break back on the tray, so I had touched none of the bread you were served.

All of this though reminded me of a Bible Study I have led in the past though = because in all reality – EVERY Christian is called to be CONTAGIOUS in the matter of their faith. In Wednesday’s word I announced that the next Bible Study – Beginning May 1st would be a study in becoming CONTAGIOUS CHRISTIANS – people who will infect their world’s with Jesus love, grace and mercy. When we are CONTAGIOUS in our faith, good things are going to happen. Like what? You ask? 1. People are going to find out they are loved. 2. People are going to be saved. 3.

That’s the focus coming in May. Becoming CONTAGIOUS CHRISTIANS that share the GOOD NEWS – the loving, merciful, gracious and generous GOOD NEWS. Let’s all be contagious together!

On another front- Thank you for praying for 30 days about the roof project over the education wing. Hello Everyone,

It is hard to believe that school is almost over. April was a crazy busy month! First, we started with testing for parent teacher conferences, which everyone did amazing at. Then we had our first every Flood Day late start which even a couple of families were not able to make it to school for most of the week. After that was Conferences and a field trip to the Eugene Science Factory. Add to that some amazing art projects and two new readers and we really finished April with a bang! May sees us preparing for our annual Mother's Day breakfast and lunch where we get to honor our students’ mothers, grandmothers and aunts. These women are such a blessing to their children and to us. Don't worry, fathers will not be left out. We will be honoring them in June. May also sees us preparing for Graduation in June so if you happen to see tape on the floor when you go up for communion know that the kids are working hard on practicing their songs and skit for graduation night and we will gratefully accept all your prayers for a successful graduation. Our classroom theme for May is Transportation. So, take a peek in the window as you walk in for church and you will be able to glimpse some of the students colorful air planes. This art project was made possible due to you and your friends’ donation of empty paper towel and toilet paper rolls. The students, Mrs. Hemingway and I thank you very much! We are all so thankful that the rain is slaking off but know everything is in bloom, so allergies are very high in our classroom. So, prayers for the least number of sniffles would be great. We at Children's Corner Montessori would love to say Thank You to the individuals who are maintaining the grounds that the children get to play on every day. It is so inviting and a joy to play Duck Duck Goose or the Princess and Dragon game. Thank you again for all your hard work. Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful women in our church family and everyone have a fun filled month.

Mrs. Agoff

Children’s Ministry Update

Along with the congregation, we continued studying the “I Am” statements of Jesus in the month of April. During the month we made cotton ball sheep, snacked on marshmallow sheep and graham cracker gates, made signs to show “the way” to Jesus, and ended on Easter Sunday with an exciting Easter Egg Hunt. One exciting change we made to the program last month is the inclusion of the nursery kids in the prayer and lesson times. After the Children’s moment, all the children meet at the couches for an overview of the lesson and sharing their joys and prayer concerns. After this time, the younger children go to the nursery while the rest of us move to the balcony. After communion, the nursery children again join us on the couches for that week’s scripture lesson. This has been working very well and I believe it will be especially beneficial as the children get to the age where they are transitioning from the nursery to the balcony. Thank you for your prayerful support of our youngest disciples and the Children’s Ministry program. Tricia Welch
