Being Impressed By Others Is It Beneficial?
To keep our self esteem intact, we need to make sure that we do not have an impressionable
intellect. Being impressed by people, in itself, is not bad, but we can fall into the tendency of
staying trapped in the superfluous (excessive and unnecessary) and in appearances. What
impresses us influences us and even moulds our awareness at that moment. We lose the
ability to create our thoughts and feelings and these are influenced by the impression that we
have allowed the other person to leave on us. Sometimes the impression is such that we
completely give ourselves to it. We give up our power to the other, and we allow them to
dominate our emotional world. The results of allowing oneself to be impressed are varied
and on different levels.
For example, when we are impressed by the other's position; it is fine to respect the authority
and the position of the other, but when we allow their position to impress us, our ability to
relate to the person in a smooth way is blocked. This can make it difficult for us to be the
authority in our own life. Another example is when we are impressed by the achievements of
the other and put them on a pedestal. We compare ourselves with him or her and have weak
thoughts of ourselves, such as that we are not as good or effective as them, or we might feel
jealousy or guilt. All of this acts as an obstacle on the path towards our own achievement. It
is good to recognise and appreciate the achievements and skills of others, but when we allow
them to impress us, in some way, we submit ourselves to their influence and we weaken our
self-esteem and our respect towards ourselves. Without realizing, we use the other to fill a
gap that we feel in ourselves. This will not always work. It will not strengthen us; rather it
will create a dependency and dependencies weaken us.

Faith enables the creation of elevated fortune.
Projection: Usually there is a tendency to leave things to destiny. When something goes
wrong, we blame fate for it. Then we feel the situation to be totally out of our control, whichprevents us from taking responsibility for our own life. And we will not be able to work in any
way for bringing about a change and improving the situation.
Solution: Instead of blaming fate for whatever is happening, we need to take up
responsibility for creating our own fortune for the future. When we have faith in ourselves,
we will take up responsibility for our own life. We will, then, be able to work at making our
each thought beneficial, contributing to our success, making a better future for ourselves. /

Worry Confused With Concern
One of the most incorrect beliefs that we have acquired since childhood is that to worry
is to care, worrying is caring. Our parents are the people whom we grow up with and are
closest to in our childhood. As soon as we are born, in fact even before we are born, even
when we are in our mothers womb, they start transmitting the energy of this belief through
their thoughts and later on when we are physically present in front of them, through
thoughts, words and actions; to us, which we catch, because we being a spiritual energy, not
only transmit or radiate but also absorb energy. As we grow up, this false belief keeps
reaching us from everyone on a subtle as level as physical level from whom we meet and are
close to including our friends, siblings (brothers and sisters), spouse etc. and slowly we
start accepting this belief as being completely true and lead our lives according
to it and even transmit the same to others. That is why it is extremely difficult to find
a single person today who does not live according to this belief or does not bring it into their
daily lives to some extent or the other.
A very common example of the above belief which we all have gone through sometime or the
other is when we are late by just a few minutes in coming back home from office. On
reaching home, we are asked a thousand questions and by our family members, perhaps our
parents or spouse or children about where we have been and why hadnt we bothered to call
and also informed about another thousand negative assumptions they had made in that
much time. Why? Because they had been worried for us. We are normally surprised with thefact they are worrying, because 9 out of 10 times we are late because of a not so serious
reason, but our family members explain that we were worrying for you because we care for
you. But worrying is not caring. Worry is fear or anxiety and care is love or concern,
they are two opposite emotions which can never exist together at the same
time.
In tomorrow's message, we shall demonstrate how on a subtle energy level, true love and
concern is more beneficial than worry in coming out of negative situations, in which we find
ourselves every now and then.

To experience newness each day is to be creative.
Projection: Sometimes we find things to be very monotonous. There seems to be nothing
new that is happening. Days pass on and we tend to become action-conscious only trying to
finish the tasks at hand. We feel caught up in the routine not able to enjoy anything
anymore.
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living

Solution: Instead of just doing what has to be done in a monotonous way, we need to take a
thought each day to experience something new. There is such a variety in each day, we only
have to discover ways of experiencing it. When we learn this creative art, we'll never be
bored, but will be able to enjoy everything that comes our way. /

Worry Confused With Concern (cont.)
We are all linked together at a subtle, invisible level, and communicate with others invisibly.
We not only send but also pick up the energy that others radiate, especially the ones that we
are close to. We demonstrate with an example how this can work positively as well as
negatively when we find ourselves in negative situations in our practical lives.
Suppose the class teacher of your child (we take the example of your son) calls up and says
that while playing in the school playground, your son has injured himself. She doesnt
explain much but says there is nothing to worry. She requests you to come and pick him up
from the school. At this point of time your son is radiating his own spiritual energy
which is most probably the negative energy of fear, stress, anxiety and sorrow
(although the teacher has informed you that he is fine). At the same time he is
also picking up your subtle spiritual or mental energy. You are driving to his school
to pick him up. At this point of time, you only have a rough idea of what situation he is in
exactly at that moment because you are physically far away from him. Guessing about the
exact situation is making assumptions and is a waste of your mental energy. If you make
negative assumptions i.e. you worry and are scared, then you are sending himthe same vibrations of fear, a negative energy, which he is going to pick up and
it is not going to empower or help him in anyway but is more likely to weaken
and disturb him and even disturb you in your driving. You have been told that there
is nothing to worry but still you know he is in a slightly difficult emotional situation and only
he knows how he will come out of it. What will help him? He needs your support, but what
will support him the most - we are talking about subtle support, because you are going to
take some time to reach the school and provide him physical support? Your negative
vibration of fear which you may mistakenly call concern or care as you imagine something
bad has happened? Or the positive vibrations of your unconditional love and your good
wishes, which is true concern or care? What will you send him to support him from far away?Worry vibrations or the vibrations of love in the form of your good wishes for them?
Vibrations of love will keep you also in a positive state as you drive through the city. Besides,
what is care or concern? It is you sending your positive inner spiritual light to help another
and worry is definitely not that.

Determination enables us to overcome our weaknesses.
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
4/30
Projection:When we recognize any weakness of ours, we want to make effort to remove it.
But usually we work on it for a few days with great attention. After some time, we find
ourselves losing interest and the weakness gets stronger taking hold of us once again. We
find ourselves exactly where we had started having no further enthusiasm to work on
ourselves.
Solution: In order to overcome any weakness of ours, we need to have a strong aim in our
mind to remove it. With this comes the determination to work on it without losing hope.
Even if we find ourselves becoming slack, we need to remind ourselves that we don't want
that particular weakness in our life. Then we will be able to work at removing the weakness
fully. /

Principles for the Body To Make Early Morning Meditation Successful
Rest well each night. Avoid going off to sleep later than 10 p.m. especially when there is no
time for an afternoon rest.
Make sure the evening meal is taken early or only have a light meal before bed, and a heavy
breakfast. Light eating with plenty of fresh fruits and salads makes the mind light.
If I am very, very tired at night, it is better to do some light housework until the stage of
tiredness passes, rather than surrendering to sleep at this moment. If I go to bed with a
heavy head I rise with a heavy head.
Do not talk unnecessarily before going to sleep.
Be warm, yet avoid over-heated rooms.

To say yes is to have regard for all.
Projection:When someone expects us to do something that we don't like our usual
reaction is to say no and give reasons why we don't want to do it or why we don't agree with
what the other person is saying. But it usually happens that once we say no, the other person
is no longer able to listen to what we have to say.
Solution: Instead of saying 'no', we need to practice saying 'yes'. To say yes means to try to
understand what the other person is saying. Only after that can we put forth our argument.
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living

And then the other person will also give regard to our opinion. This practice will enable us to
get good wishes from others and increase our chance for success. /

Principles for the Body To Make Early Morning Meditation Successful (cont.)
Freshen the self before morning meditation, with a shower or a hot drink. Avoid speaking
before the meditation.
Sit with an upright posture, away from the walls or comfortable chairs. If the body is ill, awaken but sit comfortably, and do not force the self.
Have a good circulation of fresh air.
Subtle lighting creates an atmosphere of meditation. If it is too dark it will lead to
sleepiness; if it is too light there will be eye-strain.
Burn incense sticks ("agarbattis"), only if it doesn't irritate your and others' eyes and
throats.

Our words are effective only when we combine them with pure thoughts and
inspirational actions.
Projection:As soon as we find someone's mistake it is natural for us to give correction
through our words. We tend to explain to others using a lot of words. Yet we find that inspite
of saying the right thing we are not being listened to and our words are just wasted away. We
don't understand at such times where the problem lies.
Solution: To enable our corrections to others to be effective, we have to combine our
thoughts, words and actions. There need to be good wishes in our thoughts which also brings
sweetness in our words. We also need to take care that we are putting into action all that we
are talking. When we do this we will find that our words are really effective. /

Understanding And Overcoming Ego
Identification with the ego and the external self creates a false identity and extremes of
feeling inferior, or superior, depending on the circumstances and people. It brings with it the
thought of 'I am', which is based on gender, religion, nationality, achievement or talent,
creating an attachment to the self, which always compares and competes with others. Thisinsecurity leads a person into forcing others to act and think in the same way as them. An
egoistic person, rather than recognizing that everyone is unique with a unique personality
and has a right to express his/her respective personality, sees difference in personalities as a
threat to himself/herself.
Where there is such ego, only yes people (who have the same opinion as yours) are allowed
to come close: anyone with a difference of opinion is rejected. With ego, the original
uniqueness of the self is denied, unrecognized and buried deep in the layers of wrong
identity. This is why, these days, there is such an identity crisis - humanity has lost its soul,
or rather, sold its soul to external traditions and attractions.
With ego, then: is the idea of I know best' and consequently the misunderstood duty and
right to control and manipulate others, in their best interests (supposedly)! This results in
the spoiling of the creativity and uniqueness of others.

Pure feelings reach out and bring benefit to others.
Projection:When there is someone who is being negative, we tend to think or speak about
the negativity we perceive at that time. To think about negativity is to imbibe a little of that
negativity within our mind. Then our mind is no more pure and so whatever thoughts we
have for that person don't have any positive influence and there is no benefit for them.
Solution: If we see someone using some weakness, we need to pay special attention not to
think or speak about it. Instead we need to concentrate on some speciality of the other
person. This gives them the encouragement to use it. The more we see negative, the morenegative they will be with us and the more we see positive the more positive they'll be with
us. /

Understanding And Overcoming Ego (cont.)
To conquer ego, humility and honesty are required. We need the courage to look into the self
honestly and acknowledge that the characteristics ofI knowand I control exist and have to
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living

be removed, if there is to be truth and happiness inside. We need to remember the original -
I am e.g. * I am a child of the Supreme Soul, similar to him in qualities and powers, * I am
the soul which is seated on the Supreme Beings (Gods) heart throne, * I am a knowledgeful
soul, * I am a blissful soul who gifts everyone with the treasure of happiness etc.
Through meditation and remembering the true - I am (shared above), the pollution of theselfish ego is gradually replaced by the remembrance and the experience of the pure self:
the I that is not attached to anything, or anyone, but is completely whole within itself. The
expression of this pure entity is not selfish but selfless and the person begins to share with
others, everything that he/she possesses knowledge, specialties, talents, virtues etc. where
necessary, facilitating the awakening of the true potential of others, just like sunlight. Light is
a great facilitator. It steps in, awakens and then moves on. An ego less person acts, interacts
and expresses themselves in this way.

The one with true mercy fills hope even in the ones who are hopeless.
Projection:When we see someone who is in need or who is totally negative, a case that is
totally hopeless, there are a lot of feelings aroused within us. What we feel is pity or hatred,
which are only negative feelings. Such negative thoughts don't help in anyway and the people
remains as they are, unable to take any benefit from us.
Solution: Instead of having pity or hatred we need to develop true mercy for others. To
have mercy means to have good wishes with love - combined with hope for them. It is our
hope that enables them to develop faith in themselves too. This is the method to bring
progress even in the most hopeless case./

The Spiritual Sculptor And The Piece Of Art
A sculpture is a three-dimensional artwork created by an artisan, a sculptor, by shapingmaterials which may be hard like wood or stone or soft like clay. God or the Supreme Being
also has been remembered as the spiritual sculptor. With that consciousness, I being like a
rough living block of wood or stone or a plain piece of clay, place myself in his safe
hands. There are three types of faith in this consciousness:-
1. the faith in the Sculptor,
2. the faith in myselfand
3. the faith in time.
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
8/30
It's my first faith, my faith in the Sculptor, in his vision of his finished work i.e.
a perfect and complete me, which he foresees, waiting to emerge from my
present imperfect self, that allows me place myself in his hands. His vision of
perfection is so clear that knowing it, I feel I must regain my original condition. Also when I
come in front of God, who is a perfect spiritual being, his love and the knowledge he gives me
makes me aware of myself as a spiritual being similar to him. This awareness then remindsme of my original qualities and the spiritual beauty and perfection hidden inside me, which
helps me in having the second faith, the faith in myself. I am able to trust the Sculptor,
knowing that the knocks I receive will chip away at my weaknesses, and restore my truth and
beauty. Initially, I may not know myself completely or have full faith in myself,
the second faith, but God, the Sculptor, knows me and has full faith in me, all
the Sculptor wants me to do is to be still and patient. Being still means having
complete faith in myself and him and being patient means having the third faith - the faith in
time. His knowledge and power gives me the strength and courage to be still and patient i.e.
strong in all three faiths while he continues his work on me. I should not move or be
impatient i.e. not let any of my faiths waiver, otherwise I will not become perfect. There is avast difference between how God sees me, and how I am at the present moment. Holding the
vision that God has of me, I have to just surrender my mind to the Spiritual Sculptor and
keep myself in his hands. When I do that, the thoughts inside my mind get focused
spiritually on him and as a result I receive his spiritual energy, which reshapes
and transforms me. That which is highest and most beautiful in me begins to emerge
gradually.

To become worthy of blessings means to make success easy.
Projection: Thinking of benefit for the self increases to such an extent that it sometimes
takes on the form of selfishness. When we are selfish we stop thinking about others or the
effect that our action is going to have on them. Then we are not able to move forward with
lightness because the good wishes and blessings of others are not with us.
Solution: In each and every action of ours we need to first check if it is going to be
beneficial for us as well as for others. As much as there is benefit for others too in the task
that we are doing, that much the good wishes of others will be there for the task. With thesegood wishes we will be able to move forward much faster and achieving success will be
easy. /

Creating Positive Habits
Some habits do not upset us, but others can cause irritation, frustration and desperation. We
want to rid ourselves of them: but how? When we look at the creation and fulfillment of
thoughts, it looks like a closed system: the thoughts lead to actions, the actions create a series
of impressions (sanskars), and these impressions are responsible for similar thoughts, which
lead us to similar actions, this is a vicious cycle. If we want to change a habit, then where do
we start? In other words, where do we change the system or how do we get out of the cycle?
First of all, we can try changing our negative actions: for example, stop a mental negative
habit like anger or a physical one like drinking. In many cases, although we change our
behaviour, but because we have not understood deeply why we wanted to do it, is quite
possible that one day we will go back to this old habit.
We can try changing this system in our subconscious. By analysing what is recorded in our
subconscious, through different therapies, the results are not altogether satisfactory. There is
always some traumatic event, or painful experience behind a fear which causes us to cling on
to a negative habit. And although we can see and recognise our fears and anxieties, if we do
not replace them with something better, with a more beneficial and healthier alternative,
very often we will feel tempted to cling on to these old systems, even though they do not work
and they make us unhappy. To eliminate certain things we have recorded in our
subconscious, meditation and silence are the most effect non-violent methods.
Another method is to try and change our beliefs with positive affirmations (thoughts) that
strengthen our willpower, and thus introduce a new habit to replace the old one. It is vital
not to repeat this affirmation mechanically, but to introduce it into the system of beliefs we
hold, and act as if we already were what we express in this affirmation.

The one who is powerful shows the practical proof of success instead of just
talking about it.
Projection: It is usually very easy for us to talk about how to do things best, it is as much
easy to tell others and give directions. But the one who is powerful is not just satisfied with
mere words or proving to others about his success. He is more concerned about being
successful.
Solution:We need to check if we are applying in our life what we are talking about. We
need to see to it that whatever we speak about, we must put into practice. Only then will we
find improvement and progress in our life. Then there will be no more the need to talk about
our success but our life will reveal how successful we are. We will then be an inspiration tomany. /

What is Will Power?
The expression will-power is often used to refer to our ability to put into practice the ideas
we know to be for our well-being and to resist actions (karmas) which are harmful. This is
directly related to the soul's intellectual strength. When we speak of weakness or strength in
the soul we are referring to the intellect. In the case of a weak soul (one with lower will-
power) it is almost as if the intellect plays no part in determining which thoughts arise in
the mind, but they come as if pushed by the sanskaras (mainly in the form of habits) or are
triggered by the atmosphere around or the moods of others. On the contrary, a powerful soul
(one with higherwill-power) enjoys the experience of its own choice regardless of external
stimuli (influence).
Rajyoga meditation develops the intellect to such an extent that this degree of control is
possible. A practitioner of Rajyoga meditation can be in the midst of a situation of intense
disturbance, yet remain so unshakeably calm that the inner strength becomes a shelter and
inspiration to others lacking in that strength. The weak soul is like a leaf at the mercy of the
storm, the strong one, a rock in the face of a rough sea.

Success comes to the one who understands the importance of time.
Projection:When we are working at a task, success doesn't come as much as it should
because we have not been able to recognise the importance of time. Because of this
sometimes carelessness sets in which makes us lose valuable time and interferes in what we
are doing. Then we cannot give our best to the task.
Solution:We need to recognise the importance of time so that we never postpone what we
can do now. We will then always have the slogan 'now or never' in our mind. Knowing that
what we can do now, we cannot do it as well in the future, we'll give our best to all we do
right now. This will enable us to use our time in a fruitful way and success will come veryeasily to us.

The After Effects Of Anger
If realized deeply, its alright to conclude that anger destroys. If it doesn't destroy ourphysical body (that too it manages to do in the long term), it definitely destroys our capacity
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
11/30
to be creative. And after all the very purpose of our life is to be creative. So in short, anger
deviates us from reaching our very purpose of life.Anger is never every good for health
mental or physical; never ever positive or empowering and never ever
allowable or justified. Many authors of self development books, philosophers,
psychologists and experts on the human nature have argued that anger is a natural,
biological and psychological response which is an integral part of human sanskara and life. While this can be respected as a point of view, it is not at all true.
From a spiritual perspective, which means a view based on the absolute truth because the
word spiritual means that which is the truth, anger is never ever natural or beneficial. While
we are all used to getting angry, each one of us to different extents; on a little introspection,
we will realize that it drains us out and is counter-productive. Anger is an absolutely
unwanted emotion if we want to live a peaceful, contented and blissful life.It totally
destroys the ability to create meaningful and deep relationships based on trust
and respect and brings the efficiency of our actions, performed at the
workplace, at home or anywhere else, down. If we believe in the necessity of anger,we need to stop for a while and reflect deeply and see if we can see how it is a huge obstacle
to our own contentment and fulfillment, and how it negatively influences the contentment
and fulfillment of those around us.

True love is felt by all who receive it.
Projection: Sometimes we do find ourselves in situations where others are not responding
to the love we are giving. We are trying to be understanding and accepting as much as
possible but others don't seem to be recognising it. In such a situation we begin to blame
others and their lack of feelings and concern.
Solution: Instead of blaming others when our love and concern is not being reciprocated,
we need to check the quality of the love that we give. If there is even a trace of selfishness or
if it is mixed with expectations, our love will not be able to reach out and touch the hearts of
others. So we need to make sure that our love is pure and unselfish.

Cooking And Eating With A Spiritual Touch
Nowadays, we are continuously bombarded with details about the physical aspects of what
we eat and the effects that different ingredients may or may not have on us, and naturally
this is important. But in this heap of information, we tend to overlook one crucial factor: the
consciousness (state of mind) of the person cooking and the effect that this will have uponthe food, and thus also on those who eat it. A cook not only prepares food in a physical place,
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
12/30
but also in a spiritual or inner space. And just as the physical surroundings are best kept
clean and in order, so should be the state of mind of those in the kitchen. A simple and
familiar example of this concept at work can be seen in the way that home cooking, especially
that of ones mother, holds a special place in our hearts. The love and care with which it is
prepared sometimes gives us more joy than perhaps food eaten in a restaurant setting where
food may be prepared with greater cooking and technical skills but where negative emotionsrelated like anxiety, arrogance, stress, and greed (in the business like restaurant
environment) may affect the energy of the food cooked over there, on a subtle or vibrational
(non-physical) level.

The one who is detached is the one who is happy.
Projection:When difficult situations come our way we tend to overreact because of our
attachment and expectations. Because of this we experience much more unhappiness than
what the situation actually holds. The understanding lacks that it is not the situation, but our
own thoughts that are giving us sorrow.
Solution:We need to look at the situation just as we would watch it happen to someone else
- with detachment. When we learn to detach ourselves from the situation in this way and see
what it holds for us, we will not experience unhappiness but will be able to remain happy
under all circumstances.

Cooking And Eating With A Spiritual Touch (cont.)
When the subtle, spiritual aspect of cooking is taken into consideration, the role of the cook
extends from simply creating tasty, nourishing meals with fresh ingredients, to including a
spiritual connection with those who will be eating that food. The aim will be to touch and fillthe heart as well as the stomach. The love of the cook, and his or her motivation to offer
sustenance, will nourish as much as the physical components of each dish. Food cooked by a
person who is angry, depressed or full of arrogance or hatred will have a different effect from
food cooked with feelings of love, peace and the pure desire to serve. In other words, we are
what we eat but also the thoughts, feelings and attitudes that go into what we are eating.
Even in todays hectic lifestyle, when there sometimes seems to be hardly enough time to
cook, let alone do so peacefully and caringly, it is therefore definitely beneficial to develop a
positive attitude towards cooking. Before undertaking any food preparation, remind yourself
that the task at hand can and should be an enjoyable and creative activity or experience,
rather than an unpleasant, time-consuming activity. A good practice, then, is to meditate
before cooking and then to let preparing the meal itself be a creative, meditative experience
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living

which yields a balanced, health-promoting diet for the body as a temple for the soul deity.
Food always tastes better when it has been flavored or with love and happiness.

True fortune comes to the one who recognises and uses his treasures with an
honest heart.
Projection: Sometimes we might be faced with certain situations where we find that we are
not very fortunate. We find ourselves thinking about all those things that we need to have in
order for us to be able to bring a positive outcome. Because of this kind of thinking, we tend
to miss out on perceiving those treasures that we can make use of.
Solution: There are a lot of treasures within us that we can use in our practical life. These
treasures could be our talents, skills, or some specialities of ours. Under all circumstances we
need to have an awareness of these treasures. When we are aware of them we will begin to
use them in our daily life instead of just expecting things to happen right. This is what will

Cooking And Eating With A Spiritual Touch (cont.)
Having prepared food with attention (which we have explained over the last two days), the
Brahma Kumaris' practice is then to offer the freshly-prepared meal to the Supreme Soul.
We call it offering bhog (or commonly called prasad) to the Supreme Father. As a part of this
practice, positive energy or vibrations of love, bliss and peace taken from the Supreme via
meditation for 5-10 minutes, is given to the food prepared, by keeping a small portion of the
food in a clean vessel kept aside for this purpose only, on a table in front of you. This practice
can be followed every day for one main meal at least, or more, depending on how much time
you have at hand. It is good to do this exercise in a special corner in the house or even a
separate small room kept aside for the purpose of meditation or basically a place where the
atmosphere is spiritually empowering as compared to the rest of the house. Charging the
food with positive spiritual energy and expressing gratitude to the Supreme in this way
serves to increase the spiritual quality of the food and deepen the individual's personal
relationship with the Supreme, while also creating a powerful, shared divine experience. On
a very practical level, it will also help the body to prepare itself to receive and digest food. Of
course, the last step is to eat, and this, too, is best done in a peaceful, unhurried and
harmonious state of mind and environment: we are what we eat and also how we eat. Its
good to avoid eating along with the television or newspaper. Eating with the family in apositive setting is a good practice. But talking excessively and sharing negative information
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
14/30
at that time with each other should be avoided. Talking quite less, talking very slowly, softly
and sweetly and talking about positive and constructive aspects of life, with the rest of the
family members, should be the norm for meal eating time.
Whether you are a new, aspiring or trained cook, we hope that the information in this and
the last two days messages, with its emphasis on the soul as well as the body, will bring anadded dimension to your kitchen and dining table. Cooking, and eating, should be a joyful
and significant experience. So cook and enjoy!

Where everything is done according to the right method there is success.
Projection:When we don't achieve success we sometimes do get tempted to opt for a shortcut method, which might bring us temporary success, too. But in the long run we find that it
isn't be so beneficial after all.
Solution:Whenever we are involved in a task specially if it is a difficult one we need to
make sure that we are following the right method. Whatever is done according to the right
system will surely be successful.

Seeing With Spiritual Eyes
My eyes are the most powerful medium through which I, the soul, not only absorb
information from the outside to the inside but also express myself to others from the inside
to outside. All that the soul possesses inside it or is made up of in the form of
thoughts, feelings, attitudes, positive virtues, even weaknesses, in fact all
personality traits, are expressed through my eyes to others and shared with
others. As I look towards others, my eyes can be used to shower others with pure love,
peace, joy, power etc. and the same eyes, if not used appropriately, can shower others with
anger, jealousy, criticism, hatred etc. My eyes also express whatever wisdom or knowledge I
possess inside.
When I stay in the awareness that I am a soul, a spiritual being of subtle light, situated at the
center of my forehead, my eyes are used to see others in the same way with a spiritual vision.
This leads to my spiritual upliftment. When I stay in the awareness that I am a body, my eyes
are used to see others in the same way with a non-spiritual or a body-conscious vision. This
brings me down on a spiritual level.A spiritual vision helps me see others with a
sense of equality, instead of with feelings of comparison or
competitiveness. Usually, on a physical level, I create all sorts of impressions of anotherperson from just one glance through my eyes, about their age, gender, looks, position in
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
15/30
society, job, how rich they are, their dressing sense, caste, nationality etc. and many a times,
very commonly, I make various assumptions about their personality or behaviour. In the
state of soul-consciousness, that changes. Looking out I see souls, and I see them as my
brothers, on exactly the same level as me, neither higher, nor lower. A spiritual vision
reminds me of the original, positive qualities of each soul, instead of their present
personality. It also reminds me that each soul has incarnated from the soul world toplay its various roles through different physical costumes in this unlimited
drama on the world stage. Age, gender, appearances, status etc. which are
visible to me today are just temporary ones. The same soul has been in the past
and will be in the future in different physical costumes or roles, where all these
have been and will be different and the same applies to me too. This makes me rise
above comparisons and I am no longer judgmental about the other.

To serve with the heart, with love is to guarantee success.
Projection:When we have to be of help to others, we sometimes find ourselves doing it
with force. We don't seem to be really interested in doing it but situations or people seem to
be forcing us to do it. We, then, don't enjoy what we do and also don't find the benefit of it
either to others or to ourselves.
Solution:We need to consciously make an effort to see what people are benefiting when we
are helping them. With this conscious effort we are able to help others with love without
feeling the heaviness of what we have to do. Thus, we find our actions to be much more
fruitful.

Inculcating Powers Through Rajyoga Meditation -
The Power To Pack Up
On the path of meditation, I am a traveler, on a magnificent journey. I have to make somefirm choices about I what will take with me on this journey. To pack up means to learn the
lessons of the present, then to move on, letting the past be past. It means not carrying the
baggage of the past into my present and future, but traveling lightly from one day to the next,
keeping only what is most useful to me. That way, I'll enjoy the journey more, and move
faster in the direction of my choice.
I'll also be lighter in my relationships. The power to pack up enables me to fill each exchange
I have with others with freshness and newness, instead of allowing influences from past
encounters with them to affect my present attitude and behaviour. When I carry emotional
or intellectual baggage from the past into my present dealings with an individual, I don't give
that person the opportunity to express himself freely: my attitude colours him with the paint
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
16/30
of my previous experience. It is important to process the past, and learn from experience, but
then finish it, so it does not block my view of how things are today.
Meditation helps me to acquire that discipline of finishing negative and wasteful thoughts i.e.
inculcate the power to pack up. As the habit of self-observation develops, it doesn't take long
to understand how negative thoughts and feelings literally negate my central aim, of re-emerging my true nature. Negativity drains the battery of the soul faster than anything else
does.

To be responsible for each thought, word and action is to be free fromquestions.
Projection:When we are faced with challenges we usually put the blame on others or on
situations. We justify our thoughts, words and actions. We, then, tell ourselves and others
that we have been forced to think that way or say and do such a thing. Such thinking creates
a series of questions in our mind about others and situations for which we can never find
answers.
Solution:We need to recognize the fact that no one or nothing can force us to do something
that we do not want to do. Each and everything we do is our own choice and we are
responsible for it. When we take up the responsibility in this way, we will not only be free
from waste questions and doubts but will also be able to mould our thoughts, words and
actions in the right way.

Inculcating Powers Through Rajyoga Meditation -
The Power To Pack Up (cont.)
As I progress on my spiritual journey, even thoughts that waste the precious resources of the
mind come to be seen as a barrier. Turning a scene over in my mind repeatedly is an example
of waste, that will rob me of the mental concentration and emotional stability I need to keep
moving forward. Sometimes we do get stuck, like a broken record, in such mental grooves,
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
17/30
without realizing what we are doing.
The power of pack up means I recognize the damage caused by such waste, and put an end to
it. As I renew the awareness of myself as a soul, in relationship with the Supreme Soul, the
needle of my attention is lifted above the groove, letting me come fully into the present.
I also learn to be selective in what I choose to remember or forget from the past. This is not
dishonest; in fact, it is being honest to my task. Human beings in any case have highly
selective memories. We not only see and understand differently, according to our individual
interests and agendas, but our attitudes and perception also determine the memories we
choose to store.
Meditation enables me to exercise this option quite deliberately, picking up those scenes
from the past that nourish me and help me move forward, and rejecting memories that
pollute my mind and slow me down.

The one who gives constantly is a true bestower.
Projection:We usually find ourselves giving only to those who give to us. When someone
gives us love or happiness, we too are inspired to give. So we find that unless we get from
others, it becomes difficult to give.
Solution:We need to have the aim of not letting anyone go from us empty handed. That
means we give them an experience of love or happiness or whatever they need at that time.
When we have that aim, we will be able to give even when we don't get anything. And then,
we find that only when we give do we get.

Experiencing Spiritual Growth Through Group Interactions
Anyone who is inclined towards growing spiritually will sooner or later feel the need to
taking up a particular spiritual path, which provides him/her with an assigned code of
leading a spiritual life and helps him/her to incorporate it in his/her life. This also means
becoming a part of a spiritual group or gathering or community and participating in spiritual
study, practice like meditation or prayer and perform service along with the group. But, on
the other hand, there are also many spiritually motivated people who are not very interested
in groups and communities and keep a distance from them. They are of the opinion that it is
easier to work it out alone by collecting information from other alternate sources by books,
the internet, the television, videos, etc. and progress spiritually. But the relationship between
spiritual growth and being a part of or participating in a group is clear.
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
18/30
For the isolated and solitary person, growth is limited, since the personality is not activated
to the same extent as when it interacts with others. In relationships and in living
together, the various forms of hidden ego and the different shades of the
personality, positive as well as negative, are stimulated, creating the possibility
of being more aware and conscious about them, bringing about greater growth
and spiritual development. After all, one of the main objectives of spiritual developmentis achieving victory over the ego and becoming soul conscious, getting rid of the negative
shades of the personality and further enhancing the positive traits and skills, so that they can
be used for benefiting the self and others.
Tomorrow we shall explain the various powers that are required to experience
success in groups, which as a result, get enhanced in group activities and
interactions.

The method to overcome fear is to keep giving power to others.
Projection: In difficult situations, the first reaction is that of fear- of the consequences, of
one's own power to face the situation. With this comes the expectation that others should
understand and help.
Solution:We need to take a thought to continue to give others even in difficult situations.
Then, we will be able to overcome our fear. Since our mind is busy giving others we will be
free from any negative thoughts and thus we will be stable.

Experiencing Spiritual Growth Through Group Interactions (cont.)
As explained in yesterday's message, if you are living in isolation you don't become
aware of the dimensions of your ego and, therefore, you cannot overcome it.
Also, the beauty of group interactions or being a part of a spiritual community or any other
group, is that in groups, various powers like the power to:
* adapt and mould oneself with people of different personality traits and as different
situations in the group demand;
* tolerate;
* face negative situations in interactions;
* forgive and forget;
* become a detached observer of situations and people's actions, not to get over involved, in
order to maintain one's stability and calmness;
* co-operate;
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
19/30
* communicate;
* see and absorb only specialties of each one (inspite of obvious weaknesses being visible)
and spreading the specialties (not weaknesses) to the others in the group, by way of praising
and not criticizing them;
* listen, understand and empathize;
* discriminate and judge different situations and people;* go into inner silence, whenever required, amidst the actions and interactions of group
activity;
* show respect to each one and remain in self-respect;
* remain content or satisfied and make the others content; etc.
are absolutely necessary to experience success in the groups, either within the relationships
with others or even with the self. There is a difference between experiencing success with the
self while staying alone and within a group. By bringing the above powers into practice in a
group, they increase further inside us. This does not happen in isolation, or if it does, then
the extent is quite limited. So basically, being a part of a group, brings about greater spiritualgrowth and empowerment.

To have true faith in oneself is to attain success.
Projection: Sometimes false courage is mistaken as faith. When we take up some task we
might be deceived into a feeling of having a lot of courage which makes us over-confident.
Then instead of putting in effort to give our best we tend to become careless. Such
carelessness will not enable us to achieve easy success.
Solution:We need to check within ourselves and see if we have true faith in ourselves or
not. Faith always comes with the recognition of our own specialities. We also need to pay
special attention to work towards something that we can achieve. When we do this we will
find ourselves succeeding naturally.

A Parallel Between Physical And Spiritual Energy
Energy is neither created nor destroyed, but transformed into other energy forms. Energy
follows a direction in its constant movement. In a spontaneous way, it tends to go from a
concentrated state into a state of expansion. For example, after a while a full glass of hot
water goes cold. This is a law of physics according to which all things tend to go from a high-
energy state to a low-energy state. Applying these principles to the area of our conscience,
our thoughts and feelings, we can discover similarities to these laws. When our thoughts
(which are metaphysical (non physical) energy are focused on the outermost layers of our
conscience, towards the external world (objects, possessions, people and so on), our creative
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
20/30
capacity decreases, weakening us on entering into this expansion and not having sufficient
power (concentrated energy) to take on negative situations and circumstances that we are
faced with.
On the other hand, if we focus on our intrinsic, original and genuine qualities (peace, love,
power) we accumulate more energy and our inner strength can grow. This means that we arecapable of creating, of having more willpower and, therefore, strengthening our self-esteem.
Positive thoughts are a high-frequency vibration that transports a great deal of concentrated
energy, capable of influencing the atmosphere and the consciences of other people in a subtle
way, transforming any negative vibrations. Negative thoughts are a low-frequency vibration
that causes the energy to become dissipated. They weaken and block communication. They
destroy harmony (peace).

Projection: Generally there is always a wish not to have to face any obstacles. When we

obstacles do come we are not prepared and we experience dissatisfaction and sorrow.
Solution:Whenever we start something new we need to prepare our mind that we are sure
to be faced with obstacles. Along with it we also need to understand that these obstacles
actually teach us something new and it is only with such situations we can learn and
progress. When we have such thoughts we will be able to remain cheerful under all
circumstances.

Understanding The Inner Mechanism Of Anger
If we think, speak and act in an angry way, we leave an impression or memory of anger
within our own consciousness which results in sanskara of anger to be born. Within thesanskara is the recorded emotion and experience of our expression towards the object of our
anger. The object is a particular person or situation. If we encounter the object of our anger
the next day, it will trigger the emergence the recorded anger from within the sanskara. We
then deepen the sanskara as we express more anger, even if we only 'think' anger. The
emergence of this emotional energy from within our consciousness then stops us from
interacting in a positive way. It clouds our mind and confuses our intellect, weakening and
distorting our thoughts, decisions and behaviour. This often explains why we find it harder
to connect and communicate with certain people in our life. Essentially we are carrying a
negative image of the other person within our sanskara from a previous interaction with
them. And when we see them again it emerges the energy within the sanskara, which then
influences our ability to respond to them.

True detachment is to be a master of all things that we use.
Projection: Detachment is usually mistaken as being away from things because usually
while using the facilities available we tend to get dependent on them. Such dependency is
troublesome and so we sometimes give up using these facilities thinking that this is
detachment which helps us to be free from their control.
Solution: The solution lies in mentally detaching ourselves from the facilities we are using.
That means we use them but we are not dependent on them. For this we need to remind
ourselves that we are the creator and whatever facilities are available to us are the creation.
This enables us to develop mastery and control over everything.

The Interplay Between Souls, Matter And The Supreme Soul (God)
The forces, which interact to produce the phenomena of world history and geography: souls,
matter and the Supreme Soul (God), are threaded by the law of karma. When there is mental
communion (connection) with the Supreme, the soul's relationship with matter changes.
This means that the internal love-link that the soul has with the Supreme is reflected in theperformance of the soul in the material world and in the degree to which the soul has
mastery over matter; firstly over the sense organs of the body and through that, over the
colors, shapes and sounds of the material world.
We have continually sought to understand which way to act, but have lost our sense of
direction for various reasons:
We forgot that we were soul-actors.
We became lost on the world stage.
We became over-identified with our costumes the physical body. We lost sight of the story of the drama.
We forgot that we were residents of the soul world.
Due to body-consciousness the soul severed (broke) its subtle connection with the Supreme
Soul.

The power of positive thoughts enables others to be free from their worries.
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living

Projection:When someone is going through difficult times there would be naturally worry
and tension. At such times it becomes very natural for us too to come into tension. However,
we don't seem to be able to help the other person in anyway when we have such thoughts.
Instead we only add to the negative thoughts of that person.
Solution:When we find someone who is having negative thoughts in a difficult situation,we need to remind ourselves that we are the only ones who can help them come back to his
positivity. It is possible for us to do this only when our own thoughts are positive. When we
train our mind in this way we will be able to maintain our own positivity which will enable
the other person also to be rid of his worries.

Increasing The Power Of Discrimination To Improve Karmas
Many people feel internally and complain that their intellect is not as clear as they would
like. One of the aims of meditation and spiritual knowledge is to make the intellect
strong, clear and clean, as a result of which there is an increase in the power of
discrimination. An increase in this power helps us maintain a sense of what is
right and wrong while performing actions and implement that awareness.
Meditation brings about self-realizations whereby you realize what is happening inside you.
Sometimes, while observing someone, we use the phrase: "He/she doesn't know what he/she
is doing", referring to someone who is acting in an incorrect way. If we are to act in an
appropriate way, we need to be aware and be awake to the consequences (results) of ouractions. The voice of the conscience brings with it that state of awareness,
awakening, realizing and discrimination. This is because, in meditation you feel quiet
and you focus your thoughts inwards. In that state, the sound of the voice of the conscience is
perceived and heard. It is a voice that is not affected by material worries or a preoccupation
about one's image and public appearance.During meditation, you are completely
focused on the present moment of spiritual empowerment and not distracted
by: karmas which are necessary but unnecessary to be thought of that time, noise, unrelated
ideas of the past and the future, mental chatter, etc., basically everything that separates you
from your true spiritual self. In this way you can listen to yourself within and as a result
ensure to the maximum extent that your karmas are appropriate and accurate.

Where there is humility there is the give and take of love.
Projection: Usually we don't even know when we are working with our ego because it is
deeply concealed. Even when someone points out our ego, we don't want to accept it and we
continue to work with it. Ego finishes the ability to learn and negatively effects our
relationships because there is no give and take of love.
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living

Solution: The method to overcome ego is to develop humility. Humility means to be strong
within yet to be gentle and flexible. This enables us to bend i.e., to bow. When we bow it
doesn't mean we are defeated, but it reveals our own victory. It is only when we bend and
forgive will we be able to allow the flow of love in relationships.

Consciousness
There are two different basic levels of consciousness; * I am a body (which is illusory (false))or * I am a soul, (which is real). When the feeling is * I am a body, the thought process is
trapped in the limitations, problems and vision of the physical identity. Its reaction to others
is on the same level.
Given below is an awareness-thought-decision-action-result cycle in the case of a typical
father-son relationship. You will notice the difference consciousness can make to the cycle.
Awareness
Body Consciousness: I am the father. I know the most.
Soul Consciousness: I am a soul. My natural state is love and peace.
Thought
Body Consciousness: My son should listen to me as he is my own flesh and blood.
Soul Consciousness: My son is a soul too. As a soul he is my brother.
Decision
Body Consciousness: I will teach him a lesson.
Soul Consciousness: I will respect his idea also.
Action
Body Consciousness: Father argues with son.Soul Consciousness: Father and son discuss with respect.
Result
Body Consciousness: Ill feeling between father and son.
Soul Consciousness: Respect maintained.

Self Responsibility
There are certain laws which are involved in our actions and interactions. They are not
human laws requiring lawyers to interpret or the police to put into action. They are natural
laws which are constantly operating in every relationship. They are often called the Laws
ofKarma (action): briefly described by the saying - As you sow, so you shall reap,
described by Isaac Newton as the Third Law of Motion i.e. for every action, there is an
equal and opposite reaction. The Laws ofKarma remind us that whatever quality of
energy we give out, we get back. This might not be exactly tit for tat, but if we give happiness
to someone, it will come back to us; if we give pain or sorrow, it will come back, perhaps nottoday or tomorrow, but at some time in the future.
Most of us are conditioned by the idea that we are responsible for some of our actions, but
not all of them. For example, we would consider ourselves responsible for the actions which
improved our companys business but would not consider ourselves responsible for not being
on good terms with our spouse. If, as parents, we worked hard in educating our children and
they grew up to become well placed and successful individuals in their lives, we would
consider ourselves responsible. If on the other hand they dont make it to the top and are not
so successful, we will blame our children for not putting enough effort or maybe the
education system for the same. So we are selective in taking responsibility for our actions.
Through spirituality, we are reminded of the unchangeable laws of cause and effect, which
awakens our awareness of our true responsibility for each and every action that we perform.

True progress brings progress in others as much as for the self.
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living

Projection: It is usually believed that self-progress and progress of others are totally
separate. It is believed that where there is thought for the progress of the self, there is
selfishness and there is no benefit for those around. In fact, selfishness in an extreme form
can also have a negative influence on those around.
Solution: In whatever we do we have to check and see if there is any benefit for others alongwith whatever benefit we are getting. If there isn't we can check to see if there is a better way
of doing what we are doing which could have a positive influence on at least one person.
Then we will find ourselves benefitting doubly. We will get the blessings from others along
with the personal benefit we get.

Self Responsibility (cont.)
Because we have forgotten the principle of karmic returns (discussed yesterday), we have
learned to avoid taking responsibility for many of our actions. We fail to see the impact of
our actions upon others and we fail to see that the real meaning of responsibility is
'responding correctly'. Life can be seen as a series of responses which we each create in our
interactions with other people and events. As is the quality of our ability to respond (energy
given), so will be the quality of the return (energy received). The Laws ofKarma also serve to
remind us that the situations in our life, the quality of our body, wealth, relationships etc.
and the type of person we are today are the result of what we thought and did yesterday, lastmonth, last year, perhaps in our last birth. Many people do not like this idea or find it
difficult to accept because most of us have been taught that our destiny lies in someone else's
hands or in the hands of fate or luck, about which we can do nothing. The Law ofKarma or
the Law of Reciprocity teaches us that there is no such thing as luck and that whatever
happens to us today is the result of our positive or negative actions in the past. If you spend a
few moments reflecting on events in your life, without being judgmental, you will begin to
see connections between actions and results, causes and effects. When you see how all effects
have their causes, you will then be convinced that this universal law is at work in your life at
all times.

Experience of the Supreme Soul (God) the Spiritual Sun as an energy

light... In that ocean there are many different kinds of waves... waves that are
not of water, but rather waves of light... Some waves carry peace... others
love... others happiness... I bathe in these waves... I allow myself to be carried
by these waves... I feel how my mind is filling up with so much light and
strength... On the screen of my mind, I can visualize where those luminous
waves come from
In front of me there appears a Being of Light that is silent and strong like the
sun in a clear sky... It is a generous light... sweet... and loving... There is
nothing to be afraid of... It sends me rays of light that melt my fears and
weaken my resistances... It is like a magnet that takes me towards the depth of
that ocean of Light... I feel that my nature is light... All the thoughts of the
physical world disappear. Only this world is real... I feel a healing energy of love
that penetrates my thoughts... It penetrates my feelings... I feel bathed by that
love... revitalized by that love... Love... Power... Light... All these beautiful
waves... intense... come to me from this Spiritual Sun, the Supreme Soul who
resides in that infinite space of silence...

To keep the aim in front of us is to move forward with contentment.
7/29/2019 Brahma Kumari's July'13 daily living
27/30
Projection: Several times there are situations that are negative where we have
to face things that are not really what we are expecting or wanting. At such
times we tend to get disheartened and experience discontentment. Our state of
mind becomes such that we can no longer experience peace.
Solution: The solution at such times is to keep our vision clear on our aim.
When all our thoughts and energy are concentrated on our aim, we will be able
to consider any negative scene that comes our way as only a side-scene. We can
easily ignore all such situations and so our mind is at rest or peace.

Being An Observer And An Actor Maintaining The Balance
In relation to the other, we have the possibility of observing and intervening
(interfering) when we wish to; that is, maintaining the balance between being an
observer and acting; playing between forming part of the audience and being
the actor. On being actors, sometimes we can lose ourselves in the acting of the
other in his or her or their dramas; we get in so deep with what is happening to
the other that we lose distance. We get mentally and emotionally involved in theother's stories. When our awareness gets lost in those stories, we stop being the
creators of our own life and of our own story. This habit exhausts us; we lose
energy; we lose our concentration and control over our thoughts and our
emotions. We lose our inner peace and we begin to look for it again.
We can choose to observe the dance of ideas, images and acts of others, and
not get involved in their complications. Only thus will we be at peace with
ourselves and with the world. Remember that you create your own story. If you
want to live in peace and exercise a positive influence on the people around you,
don't try to control or to change the stories of others. In order to enjoy a
painting you do not poke your nose onto it; you remain at a certain distance so
you see it with greater clarity. The same thing occurs with the painting of life. By
learning the art of being a detached observer and then intervening, of keeping a
healthy distance, we manage to be connected with what is essential without
losing ourselves in the waste and superfluous (excessive). That way, our
intervention does not arise out of a reaction which has shades of frustration,
anger and negative judgements. We are then the creators of spaces of trust and
love in relationships.

The one who is truly fortunate is constantly enthusiastic.
Projection: When we find things going wrong with us, we immediately find
ourselves losing all enthusiasm. We then do nothing to change our situation but
just begin to curse our fate. With such an attitude we can do nothing to change
our fortune.
Solution: When things go wrong, we have to recognise the fact that it is the
present that is in our hands. We don't need to think of what happened in the
past and curse our fate. Instead we need to fill ourselves with enthusiasm to
make the best use of the present to make our future the best.

The Significance Of Spiritual Energy
Humans live and express themselves by means of four energy forms:
Physical : You breathe, eat and drink, and through this process you exchange
atoms and molecules with the external environment and the inner environmentof your body. A part of this energy will be used for growth and another part for
physical movement.
Mental :The energy and power of thought. This energy has a big influence over
the origin of many illnesses, so much so that it has been estimated that as many
as 85% of them are psychosomatic (directly or indirectly influenced by our state
of the mind) in nature. Your thoughts are also the seeds of your feelings, your
mood and your attitudes.

The one who serves with the balance of the head and the heart is the
one who is successful.
Projection: We usually give directions to people when they go wrong. We also
use a lot of logic when we give such directions, but it doesn't always have the

desired effect. We then begin to consider the other person to be wrong.
Solution: What we need to do is to have a balance of both the head and the
heart while giving our suggestions to others. That means we need to have a lot
of love while giving our suggestions to them. Then whatever we say will have its
effect on them.

The Significance Of Spiritual Energy (cont.)
Humans live and express themselves by means of four energy forms. We had explained two (physical and
mental) yesterday. The other two are:
Emotional:
This is related with how you feel, moody or happy, anxious or nervous. If your feelings are negative, it will
end up affecting your body. Feelings of irritability, anxiety or tension can cause stomach ulcers. Along the
same lines, with positive feelings you will be able to overcome any illness much more easily.
Spiritual:
This is related to our original qualities and values. It is the energy of the soul. Our perspective of the world
will depend on the state of our conscience. Spiritual energy guides and provides quality to our thoughts,
and that is why it is the highest in the hierarchy.
These energies (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) form a hierarchy, in which physical energy is the
lowest and spiritual energy the highest. If we are able to correctly channel the spiritual energy it will
influence all the others in a positive way, beginning with our conscience, our feelings, and ending with our
body.

The ones with pure thoughts experience safety in all situations.
Projection:When there are negative situations, we usually get negative thoughts very easily. Such
negative thoughts take us further into negativity. We get caught in this circle of negativity and we then can't
make our thoughts positive.
Solution:We need to take care that we don't blame anyone when we are going through any negative
situation. We need to maintain whatever positivity we can in the situation, and we will find our mind
changing towards positive too. It is this positivity that acts as a means of safety for us.

The Consciousness SwitchoverWhile we have explained in many of our past messages what body
consciousness or attachment to physicality is and how it leads to a creation of lot many different types and
shades of vices or weaknesses which tend to creep into our sanskaras, thoughts, feelings, attitudes, words,
actions, etc. as a result of which we lose access to our pure, positive inherent nature; another process of
subtle attachment to physicality that we get drawn into regularly, which leads to the same result, but on a
more subtle level, is karma or action consciousness where there is no over consciousness of

the physical body but one gets so engrossed in the role one is playing that one becomes role
conscious and experiences bondage and burden and mental freedom is lost. As a result our
inner comfort and contentment levels drop, others tend to become discontent with us and we become
discontent with them, our relationships suffer, the efficiency in our actions drop, even our physical body is
affected and we dont know the reason for the same.
Most of us will experience body consciousness once in a while but we experience karma consciousness
every day, something which we dont perceive as negative but it gives a negative result because it is a subtle
form of body consciousness, which can accumulate inside us over a period of time and cross the boundaries
of subtlety and take a gross form. What is a simple solution for the same? A consciousness switchover
from role or karma consciousness to soul consciousness at different points in the day and
then returning to playing the part ofkarmawith a revised consciousness. The role remains the
same and is to be played, the soul cannot exist without it, but the consciousness is changed.
In tomorrows message, wewill mention a few very simple methods which help us in doing
that.

The one who sacrifices name and fame is the one who gets recognition.
Projection:When we make a positive contribution we usually want to get recognition for it. We might not
always say it in words but there is always an expectation that others should recognise our contribution.
Solution:We need to make sure that we enjoy whatever we do. Since the task itself becomes enjoyable for
us, we don't anymore expect recognition. The more we become free from expectations we get the love from
others and recognition too.
