Business Development Internship The Organization: The Baton Rouge Area Chamber leads economic development in the Baton Rouge metropolitan area. Serving as the voice of the business community, BRAC’s membership includes more than 1,500 organizations whose employees represent over a third of the Capital Region workforce. This internship opportunity within the Business Development division is designed to provide students and recent graduates with an opportunity to learn about regional economic development, demographic and research trends, real estate, company site location strategies, project management, and business retention and expansion. The Position: The Business Development Intern is responsible for supporting a variety of projects and programs in the areas of economic analysis, site location, and marketing. Additionally, the position involves market research, statistical analysis, data collection, and project management support. Ideally, the Business Development Intern would be a part-time position (20 hours per week) during the academic year (renewable each semester). Initially, this position will be focused heavily on data collection in order to assist with updating marketing materials and the business development portion of the website. The Person: The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical and communication capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, and an exceptional academic record in a related field (significant progress towards a degree in economics, finance, management, political science, public policy, or a related discipline). Experience or interest in international business is preferred but not required. The Intern will work closely with each of the Business Intelligence/Research Director of the Business Development team and must be able to demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
