Dear parent/ carer

As we end one academic year we quickly start to look forward to another. It is at this point that we reflect on the Academy’s huge achievements as well as those of all the students within our care. We also establish the priorities for next year in order to ensure we continue to have the highest possible standards of teaching, behaviour and achievement.

We would like to share with you some of the key points we are extremely proud of and which make The Brunts Academy the best choice for your child.

We would like to thank you for your continued support and will continue to work with you to support your child through a vital time in their lives to ensure they are the very best they can be.

Enjoy the Summer break,

Brunts & its Feeders host Sing Up! 2017

The Brunts Academy along with 3 of its feeder schools King Edward, High Oakham and Sutton Road hosted the annual Sing Up! concert live from the Academy's

Sports Hall! The quality of performances was excellent throughout and included “True Colours” and “Feel the

light”. Both parents, pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed it! A huge well done to all the performers and a massive thank you to Mr Cooke, Mrs Humphrey and the CPA Faculty for organising and delivering a superb

concert!

Brunts Choir perform in the National Youth Choir Concert On Wednesday 17th May, members of the Brunts Academy choir joined choirs from seven other Nottinghamshire schools and members of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain to perform a series of vocal pieces in a concert at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham. Brunts choir was asked at very short notice to sing a piece by themselves after another school was unable to participate. Needless to say they were more than up to the job and were described as the Brunts “Super Choir” by one of the organising team. There were over 150 singers in all and together they learnt 4 songs, from memory, in

under an hour. Thanks to our vocal teacher Suzy Fell for her support and enthusiasm for this project. Our choir will continue to be involved in this collaborative project with the NYCGB and Nottinghamshire’s Inspire team.

Brunts continues to be Good! On 22 March 2017, the Academy underwent its first short Ofsted inspection since the school was judged to be good in April 2013. We are proud to announce that the Ofsted Inspectors agreed with our own judgement that the Academy continues to be good and that the quality of teaching is at least good.
