Although no quorum is required for this meeting to go ahead, we would like to encourage parents to still attend. Thank you to all those parents that attended last night’s meeting – your support is greatly appreciated. Security Constable Madisha from the Morningside SAPS visited us on Wednesday and urged that parents check that their vehicles are locked after activating the alarm, by physi- cally trying to open the door. All valuables are to be securely stored out of sight from criminals. Last week, we noticed a vehicle parked in Mount Street with one window com- pletely open and no parent in sight. The open window was not visible to the security guard on duty as it was facing the road. Let us be responsible when it comes to the safety of our vehicles and possessions. Your assistance and co-operation in this is appreciated. Fee Exemptions 2014 Application forms for School Fees Exemption are now available. Parents must kindly collect application forms, in person, from the school Finance Office. Closing date for applications: 28th March 2014 Maintenance Committee If there are any parents interested in being a part of a maintenance committee kindly email Mr Moodley at: a[email protected]. This committee will be taking on termly projects to improve the maintenance of our school. Movie on the Field Come and join in at a fun-filled fundraising initiative by the BFC! We will be screen- ing movies on the Hedding Field on a big screen from 7pm on Friday 28th February, at a cost of R30 per child and R40 per adult. Bring your own chairs and picnic blankets and make yourself comfortable under the stars. The first movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, will be screened from 7pm. The second feature, Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters, will be screened from 9pm, especially for the older children (please note that this movie does carry a PG rating). Arrive with your own picnic basket, or take advantage of the refreshments on sale on the night. Pizza, hotdogs, tuck, sodas, and hot drinks such as cappucinos will be available. Invite your friends and family to make this a fun evening, and help raise funds at the same time! Please send in your ticket money to your child’s register teacher by 26th Febru- ary.     Newspaper CollectionsMrs Stiles (in Grade 2) will be collecting newspaper over the coming year to donate to Ark Animal Centre for their adorable puppies. She will be visiting them regularly to hand over the newspaper and will provide follow up photos and reminders of her visits.

    Please bring all unwanted newspapers to room 37 anytime during the year.

    Late LearnersALL learners (grade 1 grade 7), who arrive late in the mornings. MUST report to reception first, for a late note.

    Learners will not be allowed into the classroom without this note. Please do NOT walk your child up to their classroom and interrupt the educator.

    When teaching-time commences, the educator will not stop his/her lesson to speak to you. These are BPS school rules, we would appreciate your co-operation in this matter.

    Forgotten Items:If a child has forgotten any item at home, they are to suffer the consequences. The staff have been instructed NOT to accept any item during school hours.

    The reason for this, is that it interrupts the front office staff, the educators and the learners.

    DID YOU KNOW?The second principal of Bryanston Primary was Mr. Joel Alswang. He was born in the farming town of Potchefstroom and attended Potchefstroom Boys High and later Parktown Boys High.

    On matriculating he enrolled as a student of the University of the Witwatersrand, where he ob-tained the degree of Bachelor of Arts majoring in History and Latin. He had a distinguished military career during the Second World War, serving with the S.A.A.F and seeing action in East and North Af-

    rica, Europe and the Far East.

    Parents in Prayer are parents at Bryanston Primary who love Jesus Christ and wish to make him Lord of our lives.

    Our purpose is to PRAY for the children, the parents, the staff. Where possible, we try to give practical help to needy families in the school. We rely on concerned parents and staff to tell us their needs. All information is strictly confidential.

    A confidential prayer newsletter is sent out at least once a month, to

    parents on the prayer list. If possible small groups of parents can get together and pray during the week.

    Join us as we seek to find His Will.

    We are having an Easter Egg charity drive and would appreciate your support in collecting East-er eggs for the less fortunate. Please, only send the soft marshmellow Easter eggs, either in boxes or strips or even just send one or two loose ones.

    There are many children wh0 are going to have a better Easter because of you.
