    BP Solars quarter-century of fieldexperience shows in every aspect ofthis modules construction andmaterials:

    36 monocrystalline silicon solarcells configured as one 36-cellstring (bypass diodes areincluded);

    Cells are laminated betweensheets of ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA ) and high-transmissivitylow-iron 3mm tempered glass;

    Frame strength exceeds require-ments of certifying agencies.

    Output OptionsThe BP 275 is offered with two typesof junction box.

    BP 275U output is via our Type Ajunction box. This junction box israintight (IP54 rated) and acceptsPG 13.5 or 1/2" nominal conduit orcable fittings. Its volume (411cc, 25cubic inches) and 6-terminal connec-tion block enable most system arrayconnections (putting modules inseries or parallel) to be made right inthe junction box. O ptions include:

    oversize terminal block whichaccepts conductors up to 25mm 2

    (AWG #4); standard terminalsaccept up to 6mm 2 (AW G #10);

    Solarstate charge regulator.

    BP 275H output is via our Type Bjunction box, which is raintight (I P65rated) and features a convenient flip

    screw-tight lid. It is equipped with aversatile 5-terminal Euro-styleconnection block with the samewiring capabilities as the Type Ajunction box. Two cable fittings thataccept cable with a diameter between6 -12mm are included with each BP275H module.

    Quality and SafetyBoth modules are manufactured inISO 9001-certified factories, certifiedby T V R heinland as Class II

    equipment, and compliant with therequirements of IEC 61215, including: repetitive cycling between -40C

    and 85C at 85% relative humidity; simulated impact of 25mm (one-

    inch) hail at terminal velocity; a damp heat test, consisting of

    1000 hours of exposure to 85Cand 85% relative humidity;

    a hot-spot test, which deter-mines a modules ability totolerate localized shadowing(which can cause reverse-biasedoperation and localized heating);

    static loading, front and back, of2400 pascals (50 psf); frontloading (e.g. snow) of 5400pascals (113 psf).

    The B P 275U and BP 275H are listedby U nderwriters Laboratories forelectrical and fire safety (Class C firerating). The BP 275U is approved byFactory M utual Research for applica-tions in N EC Class 1, D ivision 2,G roups C & D hazardous locations.

    BP 275 PV modules provide cost-effective photovoltaic power for generaluse, operating DC loads directly or, in an inverter-equipped system, ACloads. Its features include the strongest frame in the industry, time-tested

    monocrystalline silicon solar cells, and a high-capacity multipurposejunction box. With 75 watts of nominal maximum power, the BP 275 iswell-suited to utility grid-connected building facades and roof systems,telecommunication systems, pumping and irrigation, cathodic protection,remote villages and homes, and land-based navigation aids. Its 36 series-connected cells charge 12V batteries efficiently in virtually any climate.

    It is available as the BP 275U and 275H, with two types of junction box asdescribed below.

    1.5 (A ST M E892 global spectral irradiance); cell temperature of 25C.

    2. D uring the stabilization process which occurs during the firstfew months of deployment, module power may decreaseapproximately 3% from typical Pmax.

    3. The cells in an illuminated module operate hotter than theambient temperature. NO CT (N ominal O perating CellTemperature) is an indicator of this temperature differential, andis the cell temperature under Standard O perating Conditions:ambient temperature of 20C, solar irradiation of 0.8 k W/m2, andwind speed of 1m/s.

    4. The power of solar cells varies in the normal course ofproduction; the BP 270 is assembled using cells of slightlylower power than the BP 275.
