You buy a sports car to satisfy your time at the wheel, so you may also want do the same at sea with the Predator 80, powered by twin MTU 16V 2000 M94 engines running on high-performance Arneson surface drives. This ship reaches a top speed of 47 knots (with the twin gyro as the stabilising system) and is capable of sharp turns, so the thrill is certainly hard to beat.

For hosting friends, there is an airy saloon with a dining area, tastefully fitted with a dark-wood panelled floor and furnished in a colour palette of light brown, light grey and black. There are lounge areas on the bow and on the aft, next to the sun pad that looks down onto the swimming platform.

The helm station to the front is illuminated by a retractable carbon-fibre roof and surrounded by hullside panoramic glass, allowing an open view as you cruise into port. There are four cabins—three with en-suite bathrooms including the owner’s stateroom, and one port cabin. There is a garage for a jet tender and the swim platform can hold a two-seater Jet Ski.

When the Far east edition of this “green yacht” made its first appearance in hong Kong earlier this year, it made a splash in more ways than one. What will grab your attention right away is its unique angled superstructure with 40 square metres of photovoltaic panels on top. The solar energy generated by the panels is enough to power all of the on-board equipment. Cruising speed is 16.5 knots and it can accelerate to 18 knots. The full load displacement is 67 tons and its acceleration power is generated by the twin MAn r6-730hp diesel engines.

The linear hull allows the maximisation of living capacity on the 26-metre-long and 7.15-metre-wide boat—the owner’s stateroom feels especially spacious. In addition, there is a large VIP forward cabin with a double bed and dresser, and two twin cabins. The deckhouse, made out of mostly double-layered reflecting glass, utilises the natural light. The Far east edition has enhanced generators to support more powerful air conditioning and better insulation in accommodating the region’s warm, humid climate.

Another welcoming feature is the 8.5-metre aft-deck lounge with dining and sunbathing areas. The garage has room for a tender of about four metres long and a two-seater Jet Ski. This yacht is easy to maintain and it can accommodate a crew of four.

There are days when a man only wants the company of a few close friends, a loved one—or even a little time to himself. The numarine 78 hardtop has an overall length (including platform) that is just shy of 24 metres, and the beam measures 5.79 metres. It’s a moderately sized boat but the saloon is spacious, with sky windows and big glazing panels all around allowing ample natural light, making it feel more like the living room of a beachside cottage. The full-width owner’s cabin offers generous wardrobe space as well as a bathroom with walk-in shower and twin basins.

The sun pad on the bow can easily seat more than a dozen people, but it doesn’t feel too big if there is just one or two of you relaxing on the ultra-wide lounge seats while admiring the scenery at cruising speed. on the aft, there is a dining area completed with a fully equipped wet bar as well as a vast one-piece sun pad above the garage. There, three elegantly furnished en-suite cabins offer comfortable accommodation for guests. This boat can cruise at up to 28 knots, with a maximum speed of 38 knots.

If you want a party boat, why even consider anything less than 40 metres? The new 131 Yacht by Sunseeker is a tri-deck sea palace stretching just over that measurement, with a maximum beam of 8.09 metres and a full load displacement of more than 208 tons. With two MTU 4000 series M93 (3180 PS) engines, this ship can cruise at 16 to 18 knots, with a maximum speed of 23 knots—no small feat for this incredible hull. Sunseeker has two suggested design styles for

the interior, both varying in colour but promising to turn this machine into “a floating presidential suite” with everything that you would find in the top unit of a five-star hotel.

In a standard layout, the top deck features its own wet bar and spa bath, alongside a lounge area and sun loungers. The upper deck, where the wheelhouse is also located, has an indoor lounge and an outdoor dining area. The main deck holds the owner’s stateroom, a formal dining area and two lounge areas—one inside and the other outside. on the lower deck, there are four en-suites for guests and a crew area for an eight-member team. The garage can fit a tender (a Williams dieseljet 565 is recommended) and two Sea-doo Jet Skis.
