School Journal
• Complete first page on Personal Particulars –Parents’ Contact numbers most important
• Check journal everyday for homework to be done, forms to be submitted, messages from teachers, etc.
• Acknowledge messages sent by teachers (to initial)
• Journal to be brought to school everyday
Everyday File
• Check for letters/ circulars/ worksheets daily
• Clear unwanted letters/ forms/ circulars every week
• Work to be submitted to teacher, reply slips, etc to be put in the everyday file
Dismissal
• Always pick your child up from the same gate
• If there is an urgent need to change the meeting point, please write it in the journal
Absence from school
• On medical grounds, a medical certificate is required or a letter from parents
• The school does not encourage taking the child away on vacation before the school term ends
Absence due to HFMD
Inform school immediately
Relay information - name of clinic and doctor consulted
Submit Certificate of Fitness and medical certificate upon return
Travel Declaration
• Done online (McOnline) – all P1 parents MUST complete the Travel Declaration, including those not travelling
• Further instructions will be given later

FTGP – Form Teacher Guidance Period
• An additional platform for Form/Co Form Teachers to build better rapport with the pupils and to identify the needs of the pupils.
• Class-based activities that will better support the development of pupils’ social-emotional competencies will be carried out.
PAL – Programme for Active Learning
• Aims to develop character and useful life-skills by providing Primary 1 and Primary 2 pupils with early exposure to different modular activities.
• Will give your child the chance to discover new interests, learn new skills and build her character. This will also provide her the opportunities to develop confidence and forge new friendships.

After-school Lessons to Support Students’ Learning
• A letter will be given to students who are identified for After-school lessons (ASL).
• ASL will begin in Term 2.
• Mother Tongue - Mondays 2.10pm – 3.40pm
• EL / Math - Wednesdays 2.10pm – 3.40pm
• Self-discipline: One of our school’s virtues; focused on in Term 1
• Train your child to do things by herself e.g.:
1. Take off and put on pinafore, shoes, socks
2. Do homework and hand in punctually the next day
3. Packing of school bag
Class Expectations:
• Bring pocket money for recess (not more than $3 each day) – small purse that fits the pocket
• Pack a healthy snack everyday.
• Ensure that writing materials, journal, My Everyday File and a storybook are brought to school daily.
• Maths Textbook to be brought to school from Mondays to Thursdays.
• Label all belongings.
• Practise good personal hygiene e.g. washing hands, cleaning herself after using the toilet
• Parents to sign pages 20 & 21 (re: School rules & Conduct and Cyber Rules) in their Journal
Please note that we do not encourage birthday celebrations (cake cutting/distribution) in the canteen during recess due to several reasons....1) food allergies2) time constraints3) being mindful of those who are less fortunate in any wayHowever, the celebration can be done in class with the distribution of goodie bags
