Girls Field Hockey (Ages 10 - 13)

Girl’s field hockey is coming to Bowen! Starting out as an introduction to field hockey, the objective is to get girls out learning the basic skills through drills and games while having fun and being active. As well as preparing the ones who wish to join the West Vancouver or North Shore leagues in the future. Ultimately, I am trying to encourage girls to get involved in a sport that can grow into a passion and love for the game. Participants will need cleats, shin guards, and mouth guards. And, if you have a field hockey stick, please bring it along. We will have some for you to borrow as well.

Tennis Instructor Biography: Goran Milosevic

Tennis has been my passion since early childhood. I started coaching tennis in 2002. Currently I am Club Pro 2 certified and I’ve been constantly upgrading my playing and coaching skills through numerous courses and coaching conferences.

While being involved with Tennis BC School Program I have coached over 30,000 students, mostly working with 5-18 years old. By using the Progressive Tennis approach and focusing on an overall tennis environment (physical development, tennis training and competition), I have managed to create a nearly 100% student retention rate. I believe I have left a great impact on the growth of participation in the game of tennis in the Lower Mainland area, especially at the grassroots level.

I have coached for number of community centers throughout Vancouver and I have been delivering tennis programs to the Bowen Island community for the past 8 years. I have been receiving exceptional feedback from principals, teachers, parents, and students on all aspects of my coaching technique, organizational skills, and work ethic.

I am dedicated to raising participation in the sport and increasing involvement with the game of tennis from an early age. I am committed in keeping up with modern coaching techniques and I strive towards being one of the leaders in the field.

East Coast Swing Triple-Step Partner Dancing (Beginner)

Well dancers, we have already worked on some single step Jive, aka Single step East Coast Swing, in previous sessions. So it’s time to add in some Triple Step. Just as fun, but obviously a couple more steps. You need this dance for music that is not as quick as traditional old school Big Band. Be it country, contemporary or good ol’ Rock ‘n Roll, Triple step will have you dancing up a storm at any Bowen Island music event. I look forward to seeing you in dance class and working your moves at the Bowen festivities this coming summer!!
