• Bousquet was established in 1932 by Clarence Bousquet after his mink farm failed during the great depression. Due to the overwhelmingdemand from the local Mount Greylock Ski Club that was using a steep pasture on his property for practice.

• Bousquet was the first commercial ski area to run snowmaking operations in the United States.

• The roots of Bousquet were planted in the ski trains of the 30’s, when New Yorkers would depart from Grand Central Station. Buses would greetthem and bring them to Bousquet.

• Clarence Bousquet installed a rope tow in the spring of 1935, increasing the ticket rate from $.25 to $1.00.

• Bousquet opened the worlds first night skiing with lights in 1936 through a Pittsfield partnership with GE.

• In 1941 Bousquet had his Rope Gripper patented which resulted in hundreds of thousands of sales around the world. This made riding the oldrope tows much easier.

• Bousquet was sold to Don Soviero circa 1956. Soviero made an immediate splash by installing a 2,500' T-Bar, served by snowmaking. A newcanteen and ski shop also debuted.

• Two Poma lifts were installed for the 1957-58 season, further modernizing the operation. Snowmaking was also tripled: Bousquet would claim tobe the world's largest machine-made snow facility for some time.

• Bousquet was featured in the 1961 Warren Miller film "Many Moods of Skiing".

• Bousquet stepped into the chairlift age in 1962-63 with the installation of a Carlevaro & Savio double.

• A 2,600 square foot base lodge addition was constructed for the 1972-73 season & a second double chairlift was installed for the 1980-81 season.

• In 1981, George Jervas, purchased Bousquet. Jervas rolled out a summer operation circa 1990s that included water slides, go carts & mini golf.An aerial adventure park was added in the summer of 2011.

• Bousquet has produced Olympic Caliber athletes including Heidi Voelker of the 1988, 92, 94 Olympics Teams and Krista and Kim Schmidingerof the 1992 and 1994 Olympic Team.

• In the summer of 2012, at the age of 76, Jervas suffered a fatal heart attack while at work at Bousquet. His longtime partner Sherry Robertsinherited the ski area. Roberts has vowed to keep Bousquet alive.

• Roberts along side her son P.J and Erick Bartlett have kept the mountain in operation. Their commitment to the community is to offer the safestenvironment, friendliest experience and keeping George's legacy remembered.

Bousquet Mountain has 86 yearslong history of providing a familyfriendly location for both winterand summer season sports andactivities.

From its beginnings as a local clubvenue in the early 1930’s, BousquetMountain has developed into ayear round all season resortoffering skiing, snowboarding &tubing during the winter and anarray of summer activitiesincluding ropes courses and zip-line, two pools and water parkfacility, go-karting, ‘disc’ golf, aclimbing wall and mini golf.

Bousquet Mountain has a closerelationship with both public andprivate schools from thesurrounding area. These schoolsbring students to the mountain allwinter long for day skiing. Thereare local race teams for studentsand adults as well. Bousquet is amember of the U.S.S.A. and Tri-State Alpine Ski RacingAssociation. Multiple Olympicski-medal winners started skiingat Bousquet.
