Origins
The Bourgogne rouge (red Burgundy) regional appellation is harvested throughout the
Burgundy winegrowing area, covering approximately 2,000 hectares. The Pinot Noir grapes
for our reserve range are selected within the commune of Auxey-Duresses.
Vinification and maturing
Fermented in oak vats and then barrels for 9 months (20% new oak).
Vintage : 2013
Defying all weather forecasts, capricious Mother Nature never let up. After a long winter, a
gloomy spring and a fine providential summer, for the most part, the pickers had to wait
until the start of October to take up their secateurs. The consequences of the weather's
whims – such as shatter and millerandage, hail damage, concentration and disease – all had
an impact on the quantities harvested. Across the region, no winegrowing area was spared.
Some had very low yields with volumes equal or even less than those recorded in 2012.
Fortunately, the first tastings suggest that 2013 is a very successful vintage. Once again,
experience has made all the difference.
