Bouldering Wall in Main Street Theatre @ Hayward Wesleyan Insurance Proposal We are looking at installing a bouldering / rock wall inside one of our large rooms for children and teenagers to be able to climb along the wall at a controlled height and under direct supervision.  Here is the room: 

  We would install 4’ x 8’ sheets of 3/4” plywood 27’ along the back wall, then another 15’ on the side wall for a total of 42’ of climbing space. 1 1/2” thick carpet­bonded foam will be secured to the base of the wall on the ground and laid down when in use, and propped up and tied to the bouldering wall to cover and prevent use when not in use. 

Once completed it will look something like this:  

 When not in use the mats will cover the wall.  

 When in use, the mats will cushion a fall. 

 Rule of thumb in bouldering, climbers’ feet should not climb higher than 1 meter, or 3 feet. Or a climber should not go higher than their own shoulders. We will limit the height to 8’ at the highest point, but a climber will not be able to “climb” that high. We will also paint a 3 foot line so climbers will not exceed this height. This bouldering wall is intended for use by ages 5­18 (with adults helping the younger children).  Pastor Jeremy Mavis on behalf of Hayward Wesleyan Church // 715­634­4613 // jeremy@hwcyouth.org
