DESCRIPTION

History and Civilization are irretrievably linked with plants and animals. Sir Monier Williams in 1899 understood this and included equivalent Latin classificatory names for Sanskrit names of thousands of species of plants and substantial number of animals too. This work extracts the entire Botanical and scientific names content in the copyright now expired Sanskrit English Dictionary. Tis work is useful for students, teachers and researchers of life sciences. It is hoped that this will assist in "heritage bonding" with things of nature in India by all Indians. Such bonding is necessary for sustainability and prevent wanton destructions of the fragile ecology of the great nation.
