KRISTEN CUNEOMBA’14GENERAL MANAGEMENTELMHURST, ILLINOIS

Kristen had dreams of traveling during her MBA. While at SMG, she was able to visit eight countries across multiple continents, including Brazil. There, she examined cross-sector sustainability efforts in the Brazilian economy. Studying in vibrant locations around the world with a group of equally vibrant students brought her experience to a new level. “The thought diversity of my classmates enhanced my learning both in the classroom and during our real-world consulting engagements, enabling us to deliver even more targeted and strategic recommendations to clients.” Through SMG, Kristen's dreams became adventures. After graduation, she's tackling the IBM Human Resources Leadership Development Program.

You can do a lot in one day. A Link Day event organized by the Public & Nonprofit Management club found Allison consulting at The Prison Book Program, where she got a firsthand look at how the organization operates as well as volunteering time. Off campus, Allison is interning with the Mayor's Office of Women's Advancement, and at SMG she's learning among a group of students she describes as determined, brilliant, fun, and altruistic. “The PNP program is constantly tailored to how to use your skill set to best serve the public. It is truly more than just an academic experience — one that holistically develops concerned and motivated citizens.” Being steps from Fenway, she says, is just icing on the cake.

After joining a British American law firm in London with plans of applying to law school, Patrick realized he was more engaged with how the firm was running their practice and how technology fit into the strategy. He became the firm’s Director of Information Systems, and came to SMG because of the MS•MBA. “Leaders of the future will need to understand the role technology plays in business strategy.” He sees a huge opportunity in tomorrow’s job market for those who can align technology initiatives with business goals. KERLYNE JEANMBA•MPH'15GLOBAL HEALTH MANAGEMENTBOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

A little more knowledge can go a long way. Kerlyne is betting that when she’s done with a dual-degree she’ll be twice as valuable to an employer. “The degree allows versatility. If at some point I want to switch paths, I’m afforded that possibility.” After speaking with alumni and experiencing that “sense of pride and belonging you get from walking along Comm. Ave.,” Kerlyne knew BU was the place for her. Beyond campus, Kerlyne spent a summer crisscrossing the country with her consulting internship at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a spring break working in a rural clinic in Guatemala and having “one of the best spring break trips thus far.”
