Background information on the Boston Red Sox

The Red sox team colors are red and white. Each home game that they play is played at historic Fenway park, and has been that way since 1912. The teams mascot is Wally the Green Monster, named after the left field fence, known as the green monster. The team known as the Red Sox came into the MLB in 1908, but the Boston Americans were around since the 1800’s with the nickname of “red stockings” for the socks they wore. Last year the team went 89-73 and failed to make the playoffs for the first time in many years.
