Class: 4 & 5


Bosco Crypt is a quiz competition.


1. Among the 4 participants from each school, two

participants are to be selected from class 4 and two

participants from class 5.

2. Six teams make it to the final round.

3. The rules regarding the procedure of the quiz is decided

by the quizmaster and his ruling in such matters is final.

4. Knock-out prelims will be held on the same day.





BOSCO DIVINE

Class: 4 & 5


Duration: 3+1 minutes


1. There should be no record beat or music utilized.

2. The participating schools should carry their own

instruments.

3. The selected song should be an English Hymn.

4. The concerned musician may be a teacher of the same

school.

5. Participants should wear school uniform.

6. Marks shall be deducted for exceeding the time limit.





BOSCO chip Class: 5


Duration of Presentation: 2 minutes

Bosco Chip is a competition about preparing a Power Point

Presentation.


1. Time allotted: 1 hour.

2. The slides are to be made at the venue.

3. Topic and the pictures will be given at the venue.






BOSCO Feet on fire

Class: 3 - 5


Duration: 3 minutes + 1 minute for stage set up.

Bosco Feet on Fire is a Fusion Dance competition.


1. Exceeding the time limit leads to negative marking.

2. No movie songs allowed.

3. Types of dance forms allowed:

• Classical + Western

• Classical + Folk

• Folk + Western

• Creative + Western

4. Props are allowed. Participants are required to bring their

own props.

5. Marks will be awarded for costumes.

6. Music must be in audio CD.

7. The school must submit the CD in the 2nd representatives’

meeting.






BOSCO agitprop

Class: 4 & 5


Duration: 1 hour

Bosco Agitprop is a Poster Making-Propaganda.


1. This is an individual event. From each school, one student

from class 4 and one student from class 5 are required to

take part.

2. The topic will be given at the venue.

3. Required drawing materials are to be brought by the

participants.

(Chart paper will be provided).






BOSCO yummy

Class: 5


No. of dishes: 1 dish per participant

Duration: 1 hour

Bosco Yummy is Non-Fire Cooking.


1. There will be 2 participants from each participating school. It is an

individual event.

2. Students have to prepare vegetarian dishes.

3. No raw material will be provided by the host school.

4. Bottled/canned/packed items may be used by the participants.

5. Nothing is to be prepared from home. Every preparation should be

made at the venue.

6. No boiled items to be used.

7. No electric appliances for cooking will be allowed.

8. Criteria for Presentation:

a. Presentation of the item.

b. Taste

c. Novelty

d. Attire of the participant.

e. Cleanliness.






BOSCO TRASHION

Class: 4 & 5

No. of participants: 4 (3 Costume Designers 3 + 1 Model)


1. All outfits and accessories must be made using eco -

friendly goods. Use of plastic is prohibited.

2. Outfits must be safe and clean. No use of glass, food waste

or wood.

3. Each outfit/accessories must include at least two types of

materials.

4. Binding materials can be used. No use of hot glue and

needle.

5. Materials used for the outfits /accessories can be painted,

but no painting will be allowed at the venue.

6. Clothes must be worn under the outfit.

Show day:

1. Making & dressing up time = 50 minutes including clean-up.

2. The model will walk together with their designers for

judging.

3. One of the designers will share the story behind the outfit

in 1 minute.





BOSCO oration

Class: 4 & 5


Duration: 2 minutes

Bosco Oration is an English Speech giving competition.


1. Topics will be given during the Representatives’ meeting.

BOSCO Vaktrita

Class: 4 & 5


Duration: 2 minutes

Bosco Vaktrita is a Hindi Speech giving competition.


1. The Participants can select any character of their choice.

2. Costumes will add value.






BOSCO Uposthapon

Class: 4 & 5

No. of participants: 2 (1 from class 4 and 1 from class 5)

Duration: 3 minutes

Bosco Uposthapon is a Bengali Speech giving competition.


1. Topics will be given during the Representatives’ meeting.

2. Students will come in their school uniform.

3. Negative marking will be there for crossing the time limit.






Bosco Debate

Class: 5

No. of participants: 2 (1 FOR the motion and 1 AGAINST the motion)


1. Participants are to speak for 2 and a half minutes either

FOR or AGAINST the topic.

2. They must stick to the given topic.

3. TOPIC: “Examinations only measure the memory of

students, not their learning.”





Bosco ONE MINUTE TO FAME

Class: 4 & 5

No. of participant: 2

Duration: 60 seconds

Rules and regulations:

1. This is an individual event. One student each from class 4

and class 5 are required to take part.

2. Participants have to perform within 60 seconds [dancing/

singing / mime/ acting]. CD’s to be submitted for the dance.

3. No use of inappropriate language or symbols will be

accepted.

4. Participants can bring their own props.

5. Decision of the judges will be final and binding.





BOSCO VENDO

Classes: 9-12

Number of participants: 4 (2 manufacturers and 2 advertisers)

Number of rounds: 3

Total Time: 2 hours


1. Manufacturers and advertisers will be given limited cash.

2. Manufacturers will have to produce goods. They will be

supplied with prices of raw materials, machinery and

labour and other overhead expenses.

3. Advertisers will have to advertise the products. They

will charge fees for their service.

4. Advertisers will have to design videos, posters, memes

etc... to advertise their products. They will be marked on

their advertisement.

5. Judge’s score will determine the selling price of the

product. Their score will also affect the fees of the

advertisers.

6. Winners among the advertisers will be decided by the

cash balance at the end of the third round.

7. Judge’s score and cash balance will decide winners among

the advertisers.

8. Advertisers are expected to bring their own laptops/

phones / cameras with the internet connection for

designing the advertisements.





BOSCO RATIONALE

Classes: 9 to 12

No of participants: 2 speakers from each school (1 for and 1

against the motion)

Duration: 2+1 minute and an additional minute for rebuttal

Bosco Rationale is debate competition.


1. No preliminary rounds to be conducted.

2. In case of the number of the participating schools

exceeding 10, the schools will be divided into groups of

two and each group will be provided with separate

motion, but with the same set of judges and an

unchanged venue.

3. Opposition can ask a maximum of one rebuttal question

to every speaker. The participants answering the

question will get the points according to his/her answer.

No follow up questions will be allowed.

4. The group ‘for’ or ‘against’ emerges as the winner,

according to their performance.

5. Arrogant behaviour will lead to disqualification.

6. The moderator’s decision will be binding on and every

participant.

7. Use of any written matter, while speaking, will lead to

disqualification.

8. The debate topics will be announced at the 2nd

representatives’ meeting.





BOSCO PREZ

Classes: 9-12

Number of participants: 2

Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes


1. There shall be two participants from each school and the

two participants will have to give a stress interview

individually to the judges of the event.

2. After the interview, the judges will decide which

participant was better, and the two participants shall be

divided into two groups. So, if 15 schools are

participating, then 30 participants will give separate

interviews and after all the interviews, the groups shall

be formed.

3. After the interview, both the groups shall have an

individual judge monitoring them for 4 rounds where

they shall be given a crisis to solve.

4. The participants in both the groups will have to give

their individual solution to overcome the crisis

(corporate mainly) given to the group. The crisis will be

given on spot.

How the rounds will progress: -

5. After each round, two participants from group 1 shall be

relegated to the two group of participants in group 2.





6. Two participants who are at the top of the judge’s sheet

from group 2 shall be promoted to group 1, and the

bottom two on the same judge’s sheet shall be out of the

event.

7. After the third round, the participants remaining (after

the system of promotion and relegation) in the first

group shall only compete in the final round (the 4th

round) to decide the winners of the event.





Bosco pic-o-graphy

Classes: 9-12

No of participants: 2

Duration: 3 hours (Clicking pictures and editing)


1. The event is basically telling a story through pictures.

2. Pictures will have to be clicked on a given theme in the

school campus.

3. The theme will be given by the judges on the same day.

4. The team can break up and move about clicking pictures

relevant to the theme given, within the allotted time.

5. Pictures can have a small caption only of about 10-15

words.

6. Pictures must be arranged intelligently to tell the story.

The team members will not be speaking while the slide

show is on.

7. Participants are expected to be on time at the said

venue for the editing part as no extra time will be given

for the same.

8. Photographs must be taken through cameras only.

Mobile phones should not be used for the same.





BOSCO CREATRIX

Classes: 6 – 8

Number of Participants: 2 in a team

Duration: 2 hours

Bosco Creatrix is an Eco-Collage Competition.


1. Participants need to bring their own materials.

2. Any five natural items (fruits, vegetables, etc.) are to be

brought by each team.

3. No knives or scissors are to be used.

4. Pre-cut papers are not to be used.

5. Only chart papers will be provided to the participants.

6. Natural colours are to be used. Drawings with natural items

are to be done. (Turmeric for yellow, lampblack, indigo etc.)

7. The theme will be provided during the 1st Representatives’

Meeting.

8. The decision of the judges will be final and binding on all

participants.





BOSCO PUBLIQUES


Classes: 9-12

Duration: Speech: (2+1) minutes.

Interview: 3+2 minutes


1. The team will be allotted a celebrity/ a company/ a high

profile institution during the 2nd Representatives’ Meeting.

2. The team has to prepare a speech justifying the unlawful

activities of that celebrity/ company/ high profile

institution.

3. Follow up questions can be asked only by the Judges.

4. The team will be judged on their ability to tackle questions

and save the reputation of the assigned celebrity/ company/

high profile institution.

5. The decision of the judges will be deemed final.





BOSCO JAM

No of participants: 1

Classes: 9-12


1. The participants are challenged to speak for one minute on

a given subject without “repetition, hesitation or

deviation”.

2. “Repetition” means not repeating a particular idea or

concept.

3. “Hesitation” will be weighed very strictly; even a

momentary pause can give rise to a successful challenge, as

can be in case of tripping over one’s words. Even pausing

during audience laughter can give rise to a challenge.

4. “Deviation” means basically deviating from the subject and

sometimes deviating from universal truths or logic.

5. Importance will be given to grammatical errors, fumbling,

stammering and pronunciation and marks will be awarded

accordingly.

6. A participant scores a point for making a correct challenge

against whoever is speaking, whilst the speaker gets a point

if the challenge is deemed incorrect.

7. A participant who makes a correct challenge takes over the

subject for the remainder of the minute, or more likely,

until he/she is correctly challenged within the rules of the

event.





8. A participant can also score point(s) if he/she is the

speaker when the 60 seconds expire. He may gain another

point for speaking the entire minute without being

challenged.

9. A participant will be disqualified if found using vulgar

words or terms.

10. The decision of the moderator will be final and binding on

all the participants.





BOSCO ADMATAZZ

No. of Participants: 6-8

Classes: 9-12


Bosco Admatazz is an event of Advertisement Creation.


1. Participants are required to create and enact original ads on

the theme given.

2. Copying of advertisements from the print or electronic

media is strictly prohibited.

3. The advertisements should broadly be in English.

4. Vernacular, if used, should not constitute more than 25% of

the script.

5. Music, if used, maybe pre-recorded or original.

6. Music, at no point of time can be a substitute for dialogues.

It can be used only for effect.

7. Use of appropriate props is allowed.

8. The use of humour and wit will be appreciated.

9. Any form of vulgarity will earn a disqualification.

10. The theme will be given at the 1st Representatives’ meeting.

11. The product should be original and not one that exists in the

market.





Bosco Orientalice


Classes: 9-12

Duration: 2+1 Minutes (1st round), 1.5 Minutes (2nd round), 1 Minute

(3rd round)

Bosco Orientalice is Eastern Dance with Face off.


1. The event shall be conducted in 3 rounds.

2. In the first round, all the four participants must perform

on the stage. The participants are allowed to choose any

style but it should be an eastern dance form only.

3. Only 4 schools will qualify for the next round which is a

face off. The schools which will face each other shall be

decided by means of a lottery after the end of the first

round.

4. The 4 participants from each qualified school shall choose

only 2 participants among themselves who will perform in

the 2nd round.

5. The 2nd round, which is eastern dance on western music,

goes in this manner –

• 1st participant from both the schools will have the

floor for 30 seconds.

• 2nd participant from both the schools will have the

floor for the next 30 seconds.





• Last 30 seconds- All the 4 participants (2 from

each school) will perform together. Two schools will

qualify for the finals.

6. Only one out of the two participants who performed in

the previous round shall perform in the finals.

7. This round is a fusion of both eastern and western music

(eastern dance). In this round, one participant from each

school will perform together for 1 minute.





BOSCO APPAREL ART

Classes: 9-12

Number of participants: 2 + 1(model)

Duration: 2 hours


1. One participant will be acting as the model.

2. Participants are to bring their own material.

3. Judgement will be on the basis of theme, creativity, design

and presentation.

4. Dresses should be of a particular culture.

5. Dresses should be decent and use of transparent material

should be avoided.

6. Dresses can be made up of any sort of paper and then can

be designed with ribbons, frills, beads, laces, colours or any

other decorative materials.

7. Clothes must be worn under the outfit.

8. Models finally will walk on the ramp for 30 seconds

exhibiting the dress.

9. The ramp will be accompanied by background music of the

particular culture, which is to be arranged by the

participating school.





Bosco Fusion

No. of Participants: 8

Classes: 9-12


1. Each school to send 4 vocalists and 4 instrumentalists at the

most.

2. The performance may be a fusion of 2 or more songs or a

medley. However, the theme should be kept in mind.

3. The performance needs to have at least one Shalil Chowdhury’s

song and another soft Western music.

4. The genre for songs (if a medley) will be soft music.

5. There should be a merger. If there is no fusion, the school

shall be disqualified.

6. The total performance time should not exceed more than 8

minutes. This includes both performance and stage setup time

i.e. (5+3) minutes respectively.

7. All instruments (including drum peddle) shall be brought by the

participants themselves. Only the Drum Set will be provided by

the host school.

8. ONLY 4 microphones (for the 4 vocalists) and 4 line outs (for

the 4 instrumentalists) shall be provided.

9. The decisions of the judges will be final.





BOSCO BAITALIK

Number of participants: 4-6

Classes: 8-12



1. Participating teams are to sing a solo and a group song.

2. Both the songs should be from the Puja Parjay of

Rabindranath’s collection.

3. Only a synthesizer and any one Indian musical instrument

are allowed.

4. Any improvisation will lead to disqualification.

5. No fusion is allowed. It has to be an original Rabindra

sangeet. Medley is allowed.

6. The decision of the judges will be final.





BOSCO PAPARAZZI

Classes: 9-12

No. of participants: 3 (as a team)

Time: 9am – 12 noon (recording)

12 noon – 1 pm (editing & submission)

Bosco Paparazzi is a news making event.


1. The event is the simulation of a news channel.

2. A video is to be recorded just like a news channel with a

videographer and a news reporter.

3. A report of the same should also be written along with it

(only in English).

4. A total of 2 events (only off-stage) need to be covered.

5. The news reporter must necessarily be in the video while the

recording of the events are done.

6. Participants may interview members of the audience,

participants and organizers but not judges.

7. Participants are expected to be on time at the said venue

for the editing part as no extra time would be given for the

same.

8. Photographs and videos must be taken through cameras and

camcorders only. Mobile phones should not be used for the

same.





9. Participants must bring their own cameras, laptops, pen

drives, softwares, etc. The organizers would not be providing

anything.

10. No vulgarity or criticism of any kind is permitted.

11. Originality and creativity will be rewarded.

12. The duration of the video must be (2+1) minutes and the

report should be of a minimum of 300 words.

13. The report as well as the video has to be submitted latest

by 1 p.m. after which no entries will be entertained.

14. The video as well as the report must be submitted in a pen

drive.

15. Judge’s decision would be final.

Note: As the editing part of the event is expected to be done

in the recess time, participants must have their lunch

beforehand at their own convenience.





BOSCO RESONANCE

Classes: 8 – 12

No of participants: 6 – 8

Time: 6 + 1 minutes


1. No singing or vocal whistling is allowed.

2. Participants must use only unconventional tools, such as

pots and pans, buckets, etc. Anything even remotely

resembling a conventional musical instrument will earn a

disqualification. The instruments are to be brought by

the participants themselves.

3. Adopted or original music can be played.

4. No sharp or hazardous objects should be brought as an

unconventional tool.

5. Defaulters will be disqualified.

6. In all cases, the decision of the judges will be final and

binding upon all participants.

7. Unconventional music with innovative costumes and stage

act is preferred.

8. Only two unconventional tools of the same type will be

allowed.

9. A one – minute solo must be performed by one of the

band members.





Bosco Hat Making


Classes: 6-8

Duration: 1 and 1

2 hours

Rules & regulations:

1. All the materials required are to be carried by the

participants.

2. The structure of the hat has to be made during the

event and should not be made beforehand.

3. Participants will be judged on their creativity and design.

4. There are no restrictions regarding the types of

material to be used.





BOSCO QUIZZARD


Classes: 9-12

Time: 1 hour (excluding prelims)


1. The quiz will be conducted in two rounds. The first round

will be the Preliminary Round which will be held in

written format. Six teams scoring the highest marks in

the Preliminary Round will qualify for the Final Round,

which will be held on stage.

2. The system of ‘Infinite Bounds’ will be followed.

3. In the Final Round, the team getting the most number of

points at the end of the Quiz will be declared the

winners.

4. The decision of the Quiz Master will be final.





Bosco RJ


Classes: 9-12


Rules & regulations:

1. The theme for the performance will be disclosed only

during the first representatives’ meeting.

2. Participants have to conduct a live performance based on

the theme given during the meeting.

3. Two participants in a group should be selected and one

group per school would be allowed to perform.

4. Each group will be given a MAXIMUM of 6 minutes. (4

minutes for speaking + 2 minutes for playing songs or

music based on the theme).

5. Creativity and uniqueness in performance are welcome.

6. Collection of songs and music is to be brought by the

participating schools.

7. No vulgarity can be used.

8. The participants can converse in Hindi, Bengali and

English.

9. The judges’ decision is final and binding.





BOSCO GROOVES

Classes: 9 – 12

No. of participants: 8 – 10 (including the CD operator)

Duration: 5 + 2 (including setting of stage and performance)

Bosco Grooves is Western Dance Competition.


1. A minimum of 4 participants should be on stage at any point

of time during the performance.

2. One extra participant, who will also be registered, is

required to operate the CD.

3. Music and lyrics should be purely western.

4. Each team has to bring its own props (only tables and chairs

will be provided by the host school)

5. Time for setting up the stage if required, using back- drops,

prop etc. will be included within the time limit. Points will be

deducted on exceeding the time limit.

6. No vulgarity will be allowed. It will lead to disqualification of

the team.

7. Judges’ decision is final.

8. CD’s and the pen drives containing the music has to be

submitted on the day of the 2nd representatives’ meeting.

9. Choreographer/trainer will not be allowed to enter

backstage, nor should he/she be present at the light and

sound console.

10. Schools may show video-clippings during their performance.





BOSCO CHECKMATE

Classes: 9-12

No. of participants: 3+1


1. The tournament will be played as per the half an hour

rapid chess rules of F.I.D.E.

2. The tournament will be conducted by the arbiters. Their

decision with regard to the interpretation of rules or any

other technical matters will be final and binding.

3. The tournament will be held in five rounds.

4. The participating schools are expected to get registered,

the names of 3+1 players, latest by 8:00 a.m. and should

report to the arbiters at the venue thereafter.

5. The tournament committee will draw the fixtures.

6. The host school may have two teams.

7. The tournament will be played together for boys and

girls. There will be no separate groups for boys and girls.

8. Names to be submitted by order of the board.

9. Rating of all the players to be submitted.

10. No team plays the same team twice.

11. Each team will play five rounds.

12. Players to carry their Identity cards for the academic

session 2019-20.





Bosco Strikers

No. of participants: 2 (as a team)

Classes: 9-12


1. A game consists of 28 points or four boards, whichever

comes first.

2. The red ‘queen’, can be pocketed at any time after sinking

the first piece by a team.

3. After pocketing the queen, covering it is not required. The

winner of a board collects one point for each of the

opponent’s carom man left at the finish and two points for

the queen, if pocketed by the winner.

4. The tournament will be conducted by the referees. Their

decision with regard to interpretation of rules or any other

matter will be final and binding.

5. The tournament will be held on league cum knockout format.

6. The participating schools are expected to get registered,

latest by 8:30 a.m. and should then report to the referees

at the venue. Participants are required to produce their

recent photo identity of the academic session 2019-2020

issued by their schools which would have the student’s name,

class and section, Principal’s signature, school seal and other

relevant details.





BOSCO FANTASY LEAGUE

Classes: 9-12

No. of Participants: 3


1. There will be a quiz in the preliminary round based on

IPL.

2. 8 teams will be shortlisted after the preliminary round.

3. The teams selected will have to form a squad of 15

players.

4. Teams will be given a budget of INR 80 crore.

5. The teams can be questioned by the judges.

NOTE: The teams need to be formed keeping in mind

the players’ performance in Indian conditions and their

form.





Bosco TECH-WARZ

No. of participants: 6(2+2+2)

Classes: 9-12

Duration: 4 hours


Participants will have to bring their own laptops. The event will

consist of three sub events:

a) Webpage Designing (1.5 Hours)

b) Coding (1.5 Hours)

c) Rapid Fire IT Quiz (1 hour)

1. For the first event, the participants design a webpage on

a given theme which will be given on the spot for which

the media files will be supplied by the host school.

2. The second round will consist of coding for a certain

problem given on the spot by the host school.

3. The language for coding will be Java/C++/Python.

4. Downloaded codes will not be allowed.

5. The third round is the rapid fire IT Quiz in which the

participants will have a single round Quiz on IT.

6. The participants of the three sub-events should not be

the same.

7. Decision of the Quiz Master will be final in the third

round.

8. Each of the sub-events will have individual points and the

final point of each school will be the sum total of the

points earned in the three sub-events. The school with

maximum points will be the winner and so on.





BOSCO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE


Classes: 9-12

Duration: 8 minutes per match


1. All matches will be one-on-one (singles).

2. FIFA 19 will be played on PS4.

3. The matches will be on a knockout basis.

4. Predefined squads will be used (only clubs will be allowed).

5. Opponents can have the same teams.

6. Each match will be of 8 minutes (4 minutes per half).

7. Semi-finals and final matches will be of 12 minutes (6

minutes per half).

8. Game settings will be set to default.

9. Camera settings will be set to default.

10. The host school will send two participants.

11. Participants will get a maximum of 2 minutes for their team

management.

12. Participants will be allowed to change their controller

settings as per their wish.

13. Participants are requested to bring their own controllers.





BOSCO FUTSAL

Classes: 9-12

Number of Participants: 5 + 3(reserves)


1. Two halves of 5 minutes each with half time of 1 minute.

2. No spikes are allowed, only joggers and keds are allowed.

3. The ball should not bounce above the shoulder level.

4. The size of the ball is 4.

5. The players must have the same jersey.

6. Shin guards are compulsory.

7. Corners will be awarded from the centre.

8. If less than 8 teams respond, the event will be cancelled.





BOSCO FOOSBALL Classes: 6-8

Number of Participants: 4 + 1(reserve)


1. There will be two halves of 5 minutes each with a half

time of 1 minute.

2. No spinning /rolling is allowed. The player caught, is

liable to be disqualified.

3. Substitution of a player or change of controls is allowed

only after half-time (once).

4. Referee’s decision is final.





BOSCO INDOOR WAR

Classes: 9-12

Number of Participants: 6 + 2(reserves)


1. The matches would be conducted in a 4-over format.

2. Schools should have their own jersey.

3. Only the initial six players will be allowed to bat and

bowl.

NOTE: Other rules will be given on the spot.





BOSCO BIBLIOS

No. Of Participants: 8+2

Classes: 9-12



1. All props must be brought by the participants. Tables and

chairs will be provided, but the participating school must

inform about their requirements in the 2nd

representatives’ meeting.

2. Live music is permitted.

3. 2 microphones will be provided.

4. Use of vernacular is not allowed.

5. The skit must have a Biblical reference.

6. The theme is – “United in Christ”
