Bosch Commercial and Industrial combined heat and powerHigh efficiency heating and power with a lower carbon footprint
Bosch CE 70 NA
Combined heat and power (CHP) offers a more efficient way to generate heat and electrical
power, compared to conventional methods.
By reducing energy consumption, carbon emissions
and environmental impact, CHP systems qualify for a
number of financial incentives.
With over 30 years’ experience in designing and
manufacturing CHP systems; Bosch Commercial and
Industrial Heating understands the importance in
maximising the energy efficiency of the module and
ensuring its longevity.

Service contracts
Bosch Commercial and Industrial combined heat and power modules are supported with a choice
of optional 10 year* service contracts – Premium Plus and Premium – which are designed to offer
the user complete peace of mind.
The contracts are transferable with the ownership
of the property, and include scheduled engine
inspections, incorporating parts, labour and engine
replacement when necessary, as well as disposing
of waste oil in an environmentally friendly manner.
This is carried out, as part of the contract, by Bosch
Commercial and Industrial Heating’s fully trained
Service Engineers.
Preventative maintenance
The Premium Plus and Premium service contract
provides the customer with preventative maintenance
of the CHP module, allowing continuous operation at
maximum efficiency.
As part of the preventative maintenance plan, all parts
listed on the service schedule will be checked, cleaned
and replaced when necessary. All these service tasks
are covered, including engine replacements, allowing
the customer to budget for maintenance and repairs,
providing control of the whole life costs of the CHP
from the outset, while enhancing the longevity of the
CHP module.
To achieve optimum performance, the engine in
the CHP module is expected to be replaced with
a reconditioned engine after 44,000 run hours.
All replacement gas engines, prior to its changeover,
must adhere to Bosch’s renowned standards for
manufacturing quality. Any changeover performed by
our Service Engineers is done with the convenience
of the end user in mind, ensuring the module is not
out of action for a prolonged period while extending
the life of the appliance.
Remote monitoring
It is recommended that all Bosch CHP modules are
monitored. Remote monitoring allows maintenance
requirements to be sent to the Bosch Commercial
and Industrial Heating service team and ensures
that service intervals are programmed in advance.
Additionally the system allows trained engineers
to diagnose symptoms remotely and monitor
operations using in-depth monthly reports that
detail the CHP performance.
Complete service record history
Our regular maintenance reports following each service
visit explain any observations, adjustments and repairs
that were carried out, helping to build a complete
service record of each CHP module.
Whether you choose Premium Plus or Premium, you
have the added reassurance and peace of mind of
knowing that your service contract is provided by
a member of the Bosch Group.

Bosch combined heat and power service contracts | 54 | Bosch combined heat and power service contracts
A Bosch service contract allows the investor to easily plan the entire life costs of the CHP module.
Premium Plus contractThe Premium Plus service contract provides the
customer with 10 years’ of cover for the combined heat
and power module, removing the need to employ a
full-time on-site engineer.
Preventative maintenance
As part of the Premium Plus service, Bosch Commercial
and Industrial Heating will also carry out all appropriate
oil analysis. This will allow the CHP module to perform
continuously at an optimum level and reduce any
downtime through component failure.
Corrective maintenance
Preventative maintenance will minimise the risk of the
CHP module failing, however should this occur, Bosch
Service will be able to provide a fast response and
minimise the downtime of the CHP module at no
additional cost.
Bosch Service Engineers are fully trained and equipped
with tools, diagnostic equipment and spare items on
their vans with specialised spare parts being held, in
stock, at its UK warehouse.
Dedicated on-site engineers
Bosch Service recognises the importance of customer
satisfaction and will, when requested, be able to offer a
dedicated on-site engineer. This relieves the property
owner from the added expense of employing an
engineer, while giving them the confidence of having a
readily available service team who are fully trained on
the product.
Time specified engineer visits
To minimise the downtime and ensure maximum
efficiency of the module, Bosch Service will be
able to offer timed appointments at the customer’s
convenience.
Premium contractExtended warranty
On renewal of the second year premium contract, Bosch
Service will extend the warranty on the CHP Module.
After the Level 3 engine inspection, Bosch Service
will provide an additional one years’ warranty on the
engine block.

Our remote monitoring allows service schedules to be programmed in advance with the following standard
maintenance activities being carried out in rotation.
The table opposite is an example of all the service visits we provide over a 10 year period when the CHP is running
at 8,000 hours per year, or 80,000 run hours total during the 10 year contract. All parts and labour are included.
If you would like more information about combined heat and power contracts from Bosch Commercial and Industrial
Heating please call 0844 892 3004.
Scheduled maintenance
The scheduled maintenance can be adjusted to suit the number of run hours per year,
this ensures the customer only pays for the maintenance required.Service interval Description
2 Service visits 800 run hour service
These two unique service stages are carried out initially when the CHP has been installed, followed by when the engine has been replaced after 44,000 run hours. It includes both engine oil and filter replacements, as well as comprehensive checks and adjustments of the engine’s efficiency and condition.
13 Service visits Service Type A
A standard service interval where engine oil and filters are replaced along with the spark plugs. Engine condition and efficiency checks are carried out and adjusted as necessary.
14 Service visits Service Type B
This service interval includes engine oil and filter changes as well as spark plugs. Our service engineers will perform a full engine efficiency check and will make any further adjustments if required. Further in-depth system checks are undertaken to ensure the fundamental engine safety systems are operating correctly.
7 Service visits Service Type C
Similar to Service Type A but includes replacement of the gas filter and Lambda probe.
6 Service visits Service Type D
Includes all of the service activities contained within Service Types B and C but also includes cleaning of the gas air mixer, replacement of the engine coolant and checks of the crankcase ventilation.
Service interval Description
6 Engine overhauls Level 1
Associated with Service Type D, this is an examination and cleaning if necessary of the exhaust heat exchanger. This is an important check to ensure the efficiency of the CHP is maintained.
2 Engine overhauls Level 2
Carried out at 22,000 and 66,000 run hours in combination with Service Type A or C. It involves the complete replacement of the engine cylinder head and ignition coils, together with the check and replacement when necessary of the engine coolant heat exchanger, starter motor and catalyst.
1 Engine overhaul Level 3
This service interval is carried out at 44,000 run hours in combination with a Service Type B. It includes all the elements of Engine overhaul Level 2 plus a complete engine replacement with a factory reconditioned engine.
