These Arlen Ness Big Bagsare a newly redesigned version of the Big Bagsfavored by custom baggerowners. They got specialtreatment in the form ofKlock Werks lids and latches.

Davidson motor mounts and linksand Gardner-Westcott hardwarewere used to keep everything onthe frame where it belongs. Brianand the Werks folks added a FatBoy-style front end and a café fair-ing. Brian added a touch o’ Klockto the Fat Boy forks by addingblacked out Klock Werks customex t ended forks and a polishedfront mount axle. The stock FatBoy tins are hugging a set of JerryCovington’s 3-degree raked trees, which were treated to a set ofAlloy Art’s Gooden Tite bushings,s tan d ard on all Klock Werk sbuilds. Shift your attention to the back of the bike for amoment, and you’ll see a set of reliable Progressive Suspensionshocks. The chassis is rolling on a pair of RC Components’Czar Eclipse wheels that are wrapped in Avon Cobra rubber, a120/70-21" in front and a 180/55-18" out back. The rotors onboth wheels match the Czar wheels, as does the rear pulley.Hawg Ha lt er front and rear brakes, supplied fluid byGoodridge brake cables, will be bringing everything to ascreeching halt when necessary.

O n ce they finished the mocku p , Team Klock Werks sen tthe parts off to Sm i t t y ’s Custom Painting for that luscious PPGFlat Blue and Vi n tage White skin. PPG is known for its out-s tanding colors and quality, which is why the Klock Werks crewinsisted on PPG. Ditto for local shop Quality Woods De s i g n ,which did, and does, all of Klock Werks’ powder c o a t i n g .

Many other fine parts are going to get this bike moving nowthat it’s all put back together. Pingel supplied the high-flowpetcock that will keep fuel flowing to the S&S 124-incher. Forthe tranny, only the best here — a BAKER six-speed withoverdrive. Notice that BAKER was also kind enough to pro-vide its Plus One oil tank for our build to help keep everythingcool, even when riding in the heat of Florida. The clutch isfrom Rivera Primo (as is the primary chain drive). We left theelectrical system up to Cycle Electric, which provided the

regulator, stater, and rotor. Thestarter is a chrome Spyke job that’ssecured to the bulletproofDelkron inner primary cover.Interstate Batteries provided juicein the form of its Cycle-Tron II.And how’s a bike to stay loosewithout a little lube? Bel-Ray con-tributed the slippery stuff.

Of course, what would a baggerbe without the, uh, bags? ArlenNess supplied these. These BigBags are a newly redesigned ver-sion of the Ness bags favored bycustom bagger owners. They ’r ec o n s t ructed of high-stren g th

fiberglass and come with a smooth finish inside and out. Thesebags are compatible with H-D mounting hardware (usedhere), and lids. However, the bags on our Daytona bike got thespecial treatment in the form of Klock Werks lids and latches.Ness also provided the bars and that neat gas cap sitting on theDaytec fuel tank.

Sp eaking of neat pieces, th ere are so many that add to th estyle and function of the Daytona bagger. Park your rear on th ecushy Klock Werks seat that was finely upholstered by Kev i nLe h an of Drag Sp e c i a lties seats. Klock also provided those coolm arking lights. The main lamp is the groovy Hea d w i n d sConcours headlight that could be lighting up the road in frontof you! All that light is needed since Jaybrake has helped usblack-out this bagger with a host of black anondized parts, su c has its J Series forw ard controls (with Solid shifter peg, brakepedal, and footpegs), and New Image hydraulic clutch an dfront brake hand controls, with Solid handgrips and th r o t tl e .

Ke eping with the blacked-out th eme is a pair of Jo k erMachine switch housings. The dark knight stuff continues withthe Barnet St ea lth th r o t tle cables. Of course, we couldn’t foregochrome alt o g e th er. In addition to all the aforem en t i o n e dchrome parts, a chrome H-D kickstand keeps this baby uprightw h en it’s not flying down the highway. And when the bike isc ruising, the Kaffeine fairing and Sp o rtech windshield will keepthe wind at bay. This fairing, which was designed specifically for

this bike, helps define the low, sleek hotrod appear ance of this bagger.

No w, we don’t like to brag, but no oth erraffle bike gets as much publicity as ourDaytona build. And if you en t er, you’llhave a one in 4,500 chance of winning, which is a lot better th an your chances ofwinning an y thing else this cool. Up yourodds by buying a bunch of tickets —th er e ’s no limit. Make sure you do it soon, because all of the raffle tickets are usu a l l ysold out before Bike Week ev en start s .The accompanying sidebar tells you howto get yours from the Daytona Bea c hCommunity Foundation.
