Boost Your Brain’s Memory AND Natural “Thinking” Power With 10 Super Healthy Foods Humor Me For A Moment and Imagine this… You wake up in the morning and look at the clock. You jump out of bed as you realize you overslept! Curse those extra few beers you had last night. So now you’re running late for that THING you REALLY need to get to. You quickly get dressed and grab your things when you reach for your keys… BUT…There not there. Your heart sinks even more as your mind races wondering where on earth you could’ve left them! You could’ve sworn they were with the clothes you laid out last night BEFORE you headed out for a night on the town. After all you ARE a responsible adult with a busy life, right? So, you spend the next half-hour scrambling trying to find them. Then it hits you… They were on the kitchen counter in front of the cookie jar. Right where you left them. Next to a small sticky note you wrote to yourself reminding you to “Leave Keys Here :)”. With no time for breakfast you rush out the door feeling like “it’s gonna be one of THOSE days…”. But hey, you’re only human, right? Now, my dear reader, you may be wondering why I told you that little story in the first place. It’s to drive home the fact that our brains need help. Lots of it! Even for some of those mundane daily tasks. How can you make things easier on yourself AND your brain?

Simple! There are many ways to do this, but one of the most effective ways is to establish a healthier lifestyle beginning with what you put in your mouth. That being said, below are some of the BEST foods I found that you can possibly eat to NATURALLY improve your memory while also increasing your brain’s learning capabilities. (Kiss those sticky notes goodbye!) The Natural Way to “Power-up” Your Brain There are loads of powerful and scientifically proven foods out there that can naturally boost your brain’s innate thinking power. Let’s get down to business with 10 natural foods I think you’ll love! 1. Blueberries The almighty blueberry. We’ve all heard about the benefits of this superfood as being able to fight off free radicals with their powerful antioxidants, but did you know some people have called them “Brainberries”? It’s true! In fact, Steven Pratt, MD, author of “Superfoods RX: fourteen Foods Proven to Change Your Life” has been quoted calling them that. Some of those antioxidants I mentioned earlier, can accumulate in your brain and even improve communication between brain cells. 2. Broccoli Being packed with vitamin K, which helps enhance cognitive function, this is one tasty veggie that will keep you coming back for more. (Unless you’re in elementary school) In addition to general cognitive function enhancement, vitamin K has also been linked with better memory.

Most other dark green leafy vegetables can also help kick your brain into high gear. 3. Nuts Walnuts lead the way in the nut category.

With high levels of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants you can rest assured that this tough nut to crack can improve your mental alertness. For those worried about Alzheimer’s, walnuts have been scientifically proven to help ward off the disease.

4. Fish Oils Heart AND brain healthy. This tag-teaming dynamic duo is sure to make your brain happy and your heart smile. Salmon (quite possibly my favorite seafood) is one of the best sources of this (sorry vegans). With it’s omega-3 fatty acids, its hard to argue against the power of fish oils. Particularly from salmon. Known to keep your brain running brilliantly, this is one brain food that you should keep an eye on. 5. Avocados Ah avocados, a millennial’s best friend and incredibly delicious not just for your tongue, but also your brain! Avocados contribute to healthy blood flow and that leads to more oxygen for your brain. Like I said, delicious. These are almost as good as blueberries in the eyes of some. So put down the toast and grab yourself some all-natural avocado and reap the rewards.

6. Beets Described by many as “nature’s candy” (or perhaps just by me). This wild little veggie makes a perfect snack on it’s own if you’re ever craving something that is both healthy AND tasty. It’s hint of sweetness will put a smile on your face :)

7. Eggs These are just too jam packed with nutrients for your brain that I had to mention them. Studies have shown that the B vitamins in eggs, such as B6, B12, and even folic acid have shown to reduce levels of homocysteine. This big bad compound has been associated with cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease.

8. Turmeric On the spicy side of things we have turmeric. This natural Indian spice is cherished for its curcumin. This is considered by many in the scientific community to be one of the most powerful killers of inflammation. And for those of you who weren’t aware, inflammation is a big brain no-no; essentially a destroyer of our beautiful brain tissue.

9. Pumpkin Seeds These delicious little seeds aren’t just for Halloween, but the minerals in these seeds (iron, zinc, magnesium, and copper to name a few) are vital to brain health. From “brain fog” to memory loss to migraines to other neurodegenerative disorders, these powerful mini pumpkins-to-be have your brain covered.

10. Coconut Oil Not only is coconut oil good to cook with it’s also, you guessed it, a powerful natural anti-inflammatory! Meaning tt helps protect against memory loss. Plus you can use the actual coconut shell, once opened, as a nifty way to hold your favorite liquids (we all know which ones). Versatility at it’s finest, wouldn’t you say?

Regardless of what order you put them in, there’s no denying the brain and memory boosting power of these natural foods. With many others out there, you can rest easy knowing your brain has plenty to choose from. These specifically are 10 natural foods that are scientifically proven to help boost your brain’s memory and “thinking” power. Your brain is now prepped to be a brutally efficient well-oiled machine as long as you incorporate these 10 foods (or at least one of them every now and again).
