Nondiscrimination Policy Statement
It is the policy of Rollins College not to discriminate on the basis of sex, disability, race, age, religion, color,
national or ethnic origin, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender
expression, genetic information, physical characteristics, or any other category protected by federal, state, or
local law, in its educational programs, admissions policies, financial aid, employment, or other school‐
administered programs. The policy is enforced by Rollins and, where applicable, federal laws such as Title
IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975. The College is an equal opportunity

The Drug‐Free Schools and Communities Act (excerpt)
Rollins College is dedicated to the intellectual, scholarly and personal enhancement of its students and, as
such, expects all members of the academic community to behave in a manner conducive to that end. The
highest standards of personal and professional conduct must be maintained by faculty, staff, and students.
Illegal and/or abusive use of drugs by members of the college community adversely affects the quality of
campus life and the mission of the College and is therefore, prohibited. (HR 080.00, 2016)
The goals of the policy are to:
∙ Prevent drug abuse through a strong educational effort.
∙ Encourage and facilitate the use of counseling services and rehabilitation programs by those
members of the academic community who require assistance in stopping drug abuse.
∙ Appropriately sanction members of the academic community who engage in illegal drug‐related
behaviors.
Campus Violence Prevention
Rollins College takes seriously the safety and security of its students, faculty, staff, and visitors. To ensure an
atmosphere that fosters and promotes the College’s educational mission, Rollins is committed to
maintaining a safe environment free of violence and threats of violence on campus, in Rollins worksites,
classrooms, off‐site locations, and other places where members of the community are engaged in College
activities. Rollins College does not tolerate, condone, or ignore any type of campus violence committed by or
against members of the College community. Faculty, staff, students, visitors, contractors, and vendors are
prohibited from engaging in any violent or threatening behavior. Individuals who engage in violent or
threatening behavior will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination, expulsion from
campus, and/or criminal prosecution. No person shall be retaliated against for reporting campus violence.
Retaliation can be reported to the AVP of Human Resources and Risk Management. (HR 088.00, September
2015)
