advice!" "Question: What advice do you have for those just entering into the field of trauma therapy?!"

here’s some advice several of the master trauma therapists have shared:""• Hang on to hope, and transmit this hope to the client. "• Take good care of yourself, and focus on the importance of self-care with your clients, as well! "• Learn to be quiet and to sit with the feelings and the horror. This is more powerful than anything else we,

as clinicians, can offer to our clients. "• You have to “walk the talk.” Get a self-care plan and do the work on yourself first, otherwise you will not

be trusted by your clients. "• Be willing to learn from the veterans you are treating. Listen to them, they know what is wrong with

themselves. They will tell you. "• Get trained in every system, not only psychology: body, mind and spirit. "• Trauma therapy really should be a speciality because it requires specialized skills and interventions. "• Trauma is treatable. Don’t give up hope as a therapist. "• Whatever technique you’re going to use, make sure you’ve done it on yourself so that you embody the

technique. "• Recognize that you will be triggered, as well.
