RDM Campus is part of the redevelopment of Stadshavens Rotterdam (the city ports area of Rotterdam), where 1600 hectares/3953 acres will be redeveloped into a quality port and an excellent location, not only for port and transport related industry, but also for innovative businesses and knowledge institutes.

histoRy

RDM (Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij or Rotterdam Dry Dock Company) was founded in 1902 and was established in Heijplaat. The shipyard prospered and RDM was continually adding new buildings, redeveloping and rebuilding. RDM once was one of the largest shipyards in Europe. The RDM terrain is an area of great cultural and historical significance. During the past few decades some of the buildings on the RDM terrain were run-down. With the development of RDM Campus, an important part of Rotterdams industrial heritage has been preserved and made available for future generations.

The Ampelmann is a shipbased self stabilizing platform that actively compensates all vessel motions to make offshore access safe, easy and fast.
