Bote on mages: If a mage gains access to certain spells by using pipe weeds %i.e. learning itbecause of increased intelligence(6 be sure to do something to the spell like make it lose some ofits e4ects or things that would make it not a true learned spell.

3.. little notes on pipe weeds. 5irst there are 9 kinds of pipe weeds: Bormal weeds that changedi4erent stats usually charisma6 wisdom and moral. The second type is magic weeds or rareweeds. They provide special e4ects like C to 7re resistance and things like that. The third note Ihave to give is that all these weed were made up by me and some by Bicolas %my friend I wroteabove( and you might see names that resemble Tolkiens like old Toby weed has become Tobysblack leaf. -nd the very last thing I say: 0n,oy my workE

Tobys bl!k lef"

Lets start by the 7rst I mentioned6 Tobys black leaf. It was discovered by the hobbit Toby5astfoot %not fast food(. It isnt a rare weed at all6 one of the most fre2uently used by hobbits. Ithas a rather rough taste because the leaf is taken right o4 the branches of the tree then cut6

dried and then smoked. )ou can usually 7nd this pipe weed in any open markets. If you want tomake yourself your own Toby black leaf you have to 7nd a black oak tree and take the leavesdelicately. Then cut them6 they emit a nice and barely noticeable fragrance. If they smell toomuch they cannot be used and can be F0$) poisonous if taken at this time. 3nce they are cut ittakes about = day for them to be ready to smoke6 the longer the better ,ust like wine %even if it isolder it doesnt have a better e4ect(. 'obbits6 dwarves6 orcs and humans mostly use it. Theelves prefer more re7ned taste.

Toby was a farmer6 and he discovered that when smoking this weed he was able to do morelabour in the same amount of time. Gnfortunately it has the side e4ect of giving too muchenergy. +ecause of that it prevents the smoker from having a good nights sleep6 so the day afterit was consumed the character loses all bonuses given by constitution and de@terity and su4ermoral J=. If the pipe weed is consumed two days or more in a row the character loses all moralbonus. hen smoking you get a bonus to constitution6 you may use for the 7rst day6 if the weedis consumed for 9 days or more in a row6 you lose whatever bonus you would gain by smoking it.

Nort#ern $ind

This weed is a bit more rare than Tobys black leaf6 but is still pretty fre2uent. It was used anddiscovered by human sailors that got into the northern seas where it was very cold. hen they7shed they usually ended up with a lot of sea plants. 3ne of them was called Ice grip because itcould be used to make a Ku*healing potion. The sailors found out that when smoked6 it couldprotect from the ice*cold wind in the seas and became one of the ma,or pipe weeds in any humanKeets. ;ostly humans smoke it but the taste is good for every race. It tastes a bit like salt and isfull of savour %a lot more then normal weeds(. If you want to make it yourself you have to 7nd Icegrip dried or fresh6 it doesnt matter. It can be found in most alchemist laboratories. 3nce you have

some6 add a bit of water until its consistency is like a sponges and smoke it. )ou can also usually7nd it in most ports.

The price is a bit higher than other weeds because it is tougher to get the plants. => gold coinsfor C ?servingsA.

The ma,or e4ect of this weed is that it ?curesA colds. It removes any sensations of cold in onesbody. It also helps the smoker to sleep6 making the healing of a Ku*like illness go faster. It maybe smoked more than once a day but the e4ects arent cumulative. If you smoke 9 times a dayyou wont heal 9 times faster. -lso it provides a C resistance to cold*based attacks but doesntinclude a dragons breath. It also alters the taste of the food6 everything tastes saltier than itreally is.

- group of travelling dwarves discovered this herb. They were always tired of carrying heavypackages6 so they stopped in a cave and they found small white Kowers called cave stars. Theytook the Kowers and putted a lot of em in their pipe and smoked. The Longroad herb wasdiscovered. It is the most fre2uent pipe weed found in a travellers belt pouch. Bowadays theKowers are grown in caves and sold as pipe weed6 making it not rare at all. If you come acrosssome cave stars you simply take them and put them into your pipe and voilaE The taste isnt allthat great but still puts pleasure in the travellers heart. -ll races like that taste6 especially

dwarves.

This weed is usually smoked before going on a long days walk or ,ust after one. It gives thesmoker a good moral boost and makes him forget of all the hard days work he ,ust endured. Itdoesnt have any special e4ect e@cept that the smoker will fall into a deep6 deep6 deep sleep6 so ifthey are attacked6 it might take a big SCREAMto wake him.

T#e tr'ellers friend

This pipe weed is a variation from the Longroad herb. It is especially liked by elves. It is madefrom the same plant as the Longroad herb. The only thing that di4ers is that about = in =>> cavestars blooms a blue Kower. That Kower gives a superior taste and e4ect compared to its sister.+ut that isnt all. 3nce that Kower is taken6 it must be cut into small pieces and then dried forabout a full month. It is considered a rare weed because of this rarity %DG'( and because of itse4ect.

This pipe weed is probably one of the oldest. 'umans discovered it in an old time. It is made fromdried pine tree sap. The sap is putted in a cauldron6 boiled at high temperature and then left forabout 9 weeks to dry. 3nce that is done6 it is cut into little pieces6 ,ust right to 7t into a pipe. It istougher to smoke because you smoke o4 something about as hard as a rock6 but when in contactwith 7re it melts and can be smoked pretty easily once in its ?oo!yA state. To speed up the 7reignition people often put paper in it to make it start faster. Thats why it was called hot chimney.-lso it provides the smoker with an inner heat. The taste is very sweet and is one of the elvesfavourite. It also keeps the smoker from going to sleep6 it was often smoked around a hot chimney7re to stay up late and tell stories. Bowadays it is less fre2uently seen but is still a little popular

within the bards and storytellers.

;a@well was an almost unknown alchemist. 'e did minor discoveries but before he died hediscovered this pipe stuNng. It is made from a very rare plant called ;a@wells daughter6 becausehe was the one who discovered it. It grows in mountainous regions and is a purple/dark bluecolour. The Kower itself is very big compared to lets say roses. They also have the centre of theKower $0D. It is considered a magic pipe weed. To make it6 7nd a ;a@wells daughter and carefully

remove the petals and cut them into 7ne pieces6 usually with one Kower you can make *MstuNng. The plants bloom only in winter6 so watch out. The taste reminds the smoker of freshfruits or things like that. hen smoking6 the person automatically feels happy. Dwarves and orcscannot stand this pipe weed. 'obbits rarely ever smoke it. This is the -LL TI;0 favourite of theelves.

3nce the smoker has 7nished his pipe6 he falls into a deep sleep. hen he wakes up6 he 7ndshimself kind of strange and has trouble standing up or 7ghting for about an hour. -fter that6 for

the rest of the week he gains these bonuses:

This is a tool used by assassins. It was made by an old apothecary whos name has been forgotten.- priest used it. 'e was the high priest of a great king6 and he decided to rule over his kingdom. #ohe found an assassin that could take control of the king without hurting him. The assassin

eventually came up with this weed and used it to control the king. The priest seeing that the herbwas working great decided to make a lot of it. -fter 9 weeks the king died of this herb and thepriest was e@ecuted6 guilty of high treason. The rest of the herb was lost to the hands of theassassin who got away. This weed cannot be made nowadays. It can only be found. It is considereda magic weed. hen smoked6 the person feels a great pleasure and forgets all his problems. 'ealso feels a lot stronger6 physically than usual. +ut he 7nds himself unable to answer things thathe would normally be able to6 making another say it instead of him. It also puts the person whohelps the smoker into great esteem of the smoker.

-fter a single pipe6 the smoker becomes dependent unless he is of great perspicacity and is ableto 7nd that something goes wrong. -fter times the person loses all his own will6 making himthe perfect puppet. -fter times6 the person loses all skills6 like magic and anything else. -fter 9weeks the person su4ers 9d=> points of damage every time he takes his pipe.

T#e books#elf eptier"

This herb was made 2uite recently by an order of wi!ards. It is used to remember a lot of thingsa lot faster6 but makes them in physi2ue disarray. To make it6 7nd some ;ind mushrooms. Theygrow in thick forests and humid caves. 3nce you have them6 you must hide them from light orthey will lose all their e4ect. Then simply smoke them in a dimly lit place. It isnt rare in thewi!ards guilds6 but out in cities6 its strange to 7nd someone smoking it ,ust like that.
