How is it different to normal soya milk?
Bonsoy is fermented, unlike most soya milks meaning the nutrients are made bio-available to the body and it is easier to digest than normal soya milk. Bonsoy is created by bulling and splitting a premium variety of whole soybeans. The beans are cooked and finely ground with purified hot water. This process gives Bonsoy its unique mellow flavour. No added preservatives, colours, chemicals or oils, No kombu (S/VEG), No artificial additives It is sweetened with tapioca syrup which is low GI (glycemic index). This means it is a slow-burning sugar and is considered healthier, like agave syrup or honey.
Is it organic?
The soya beans are certified organic and also non-GM.
This means that Bonsoy does not use genetically-modified soya.
No added preservatives, colours, chemicals or oils
No kombu (S/VEG)
No artificial additives
Whats this about bad Bonsoy?
Bonsoy that was produced for the Australian market over 5 years ago used to contain Kombu,
a type of seaweed. This was used to thicken the texture of Bonsoy. Unfortunately, the kombu
that was used contained very high levels of Iodine which caused a number of people to
develop hyperthyroidism. In Fall 2014, 500 people sued Bonsoy and won a settlement as a
result of this contaminated batch. Kombu is no longer used to produce Bonsoy.
