Sydney Summer Top with Cross Over Back and Panty

How to Add a Ruffle to Lower Edge of Top: Ruffles are turning up everywhere and we decided the basic sun dress top would be so cute with ruffles too!

1. Measure 2” from Center Back line and mark using water soluble marking pen.

2. Cut ruffle 4 inches wide and to the following lengths (seam lengths together as needed):

Size 3 months 60”Size 6 months 62”Size 12 months 64”Size 18 months 68”Size 24 months 70”Size 3 years 74”

3. Fold ruffle in half lengthwise with wrong sides together. Mark center of ruffle.

4. Using Ruffle Cutting Guide on this page, cut ends of ruffle. Stitch two rows of lengthened stitches along curved side of ruffle for gathering.

5. Stitch garment top side seams (Step 5). Place ruffle on top, right sides together with center front of top and center of ruffle aligned. Place ruffle ends on marks at crossover backs. Pull threads to gather ruffle evenly. Machine baste ruffle in place.

Complete following remaining top instructions.
